for <strong>62</strong>-141 & <strong>62</strong>-215. It is available in the Bookstore.<br />

Calculators: Only the following models of calculators will be permitted in tests<br />
and exams. Sharp: EL509VHB, EL531M, EL531Q, EL531VB.<br />
Texas Instrument: TI-30X, TI30XA, TI30X-IIB, TI30X-IIS, TI-32, TI-32-solar.<br />
Caution: Ontario OAC <strong>Calculus</strong>, or Grade 12 Advanced Functions and<br />
Introductory <strong>Calculus</strong>, or <strong>62</strong>-101 (Access to <strong>Calculus</strong>), is a prerequisite.<br />
Assignments & Quizzes: Weekly homework assignments will be posted on the<br />
course page. There will be 5 quizzes in labs based on the assignments. Quiz<br />
and test solutions will be posted on the Web.<br />
Evaluation: The final numerical score is calculated as follows:<br />
Quizzes: Fridays, Sept. 21, Oct.12&26, Nov. 16&30 10%<br />
Test #1: Wednesday, October 17, 11:30-12.20 20%<br />
Test #2: Wednesday, November 21, 11:30-12:20 20%<br />
Final Examination: Saturday, 8 December, 8.30-11:30 50%
There will be no make-up quizzes or tests. With a valid doctor’s note the<br />
marks will be transferred to the final exam.<br />
If you miss the final exam, ordinarily you will be assigned a grade of F-.<br />
You may then appeal this by going to the registrar’s office with appropriate<br />
documentation. If your reasons for missing the exam are considered<br />
legitimate by the registrar and the dean of science, you will be allowed to<br />
write the final exam the next official exam time.<br />
There are no supplemental examination privileges in this course.<br />
