The Apostle John forewarns, ABeloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they
are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know we the Spirit of
God, every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that
confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not of God and this is that spirit of antichrist
whereof you have hear that it should come and even now, already is in the world,@ (I John 4).
Certainly, as we look at this text, we see that Christians should be discerning the times and
seasons. Numerous Believers provide understanding to the involvement of the occult, cults. However
they choose ignore the stunning fact that Satan is busily infiltrating many churches through
supernatural New Age methods. These bewitching seeds of seduction have been etching themselves
into the landscape of the American Christian Church for many years. The Church has ignored the
subtlety of Satan tactics because the discerning of Christian doctrines and ministers has not been at
the forefront of Christian teaching and preaching. The sideline of a great deal of preaching consists of
teachings concerning materialism, emotionalism and intellectualism. When biblical foundations are
weakened, the church loses it purposes and becomes religious instead of being powerful and faithful
guardians of the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
WHO IS THE ANGEL THAT CREATES SIGNS AND WONDERS IN TODD BENTLEY’S MEETINGS?
1. EMMA-O: King of Hell. He lives the good life in a large castle covered in gold, silver, pearls

Let me say, that real revivals do not move on the power of angels. True revivals come by
the Power of the Holy Spirit. God with sovereignty move, bringing people face to face with the state
of their soul. He will convict them of sin and then reveal to them God’s divine love and compassion
that He sent His Dear Son, to suffer death in their place. Revival will sweep millions into the
Kingdom of God. A demonic angel called Emma has absolutely nothing to do with salvation or
miracles by the hand of God. The Holy Ghost will never lift an individual’s personality up because

This latest Christian idol is being brought forward by the “Latter Rain Movement,” looks
strange, acts strange and has many strange, unscriptural doctrines working signs and wonders with an
angel of light.
Bentley says, “Now let me talk about an angelic experience with Emma. Twice Bob Jones
asked me about this angel that was in Kansas City in 1980: “Todd, have you ever seen the angel by
the name of Emma?” He asked me as if he expected that this angel was appearing to me. Surprised, I
said, “Bob, who is Emma?” He told me that Emma was the angel that helped birth and start the
whole prophetic movement in Kansas City in the 1980s. She was a mothering-type angel that
helped nurture the prophetic as it broke out. Within a few weeks of Bob asking me about Emma, I
was in a service in Beulah, North Dakota. In the middle of the service I was in conversation with Ivan
and another person when in walks Emma. As I stared at the angel with open eyes, the “Lord” said,
“Here’s Emma.” I’m not kidding. She floated a couple of inches off the floor. It was almost like
Kathryn Khulman in those old videos when she wore a white dress and looked like she was gliding
across the platform. Emma appeared beautiful and young-about 22 years old-but she was old at
the same time. She seemed to carry the wisdom, virtue and grace of Proverbs 31 on her life.”

EMMA-HOO (Yama-raja) is enthroned in Hell, incorporated into the Buddhist pantheon at
an early stage as the deity entrusted with the enforcement of the law of retribution. Emma-Hoo was
both the ruler of the infernal world and the supreme judge of Hell. In art he is portrayed seated at his
desk dressed in robes of a Chinese judge. He has a sister.
Hell, Jigoku, is underground. It is made up of eight regions of fire and eight of ice. There are also
subsidiary hells. The ruler of this infernal world is Emma-hoo. (ama-raga) who is also the supreme
Judge of Hell. Under his orders are eighteen generals and eighty thousand men. He is represented in

the dress of a Chinese-judge wearing a cap inscribed with the name Emma. The expression of his face
is ferocious.
EMMA –HOO only judges men, and leaves the task of deciding the fate of women to his
sister. The sinner is taken before this formidable judge, who sits between the decapitated heads of
Miru-me and Kaga-hana, from whom nothing can be hidden. All his past sins are reflected in the
sinner’s eyes by a huge mirror. His sins are weighed and then Emma-hoo gives judgment. The sinner
must stay in such and such a region of Hell according to the extent of his sins, unless his soul is saved
by the prayers of the living. In this case a Bohisattva rescues him from torture and the sinner is reborn
either on earth or in a Paradise. ii

occupation consists in hunting for the sinner and taking him hell. The gaki demons are eternally fire
to Emma-hoo, god of Hell. The gaki demons are eternally tormented by thirst or hunger, and their

We must also mention the Oni who are responsible for diseases and epidemics (they are dressed in red)
and the Oni who are women changed into demons under the stress of jealousy or violent grief. Although
they are maleficent spirits, the Oni in general are very dangerous and they may even be converted to

Todd Bentley a minister that ministers under the power of an angel called Emma. He is the
hit of the season bringing a very powerful false revival to a sleepy town Lakeland Florida. People are
running from around world because his ministry is being promoted by very powerful leaders and a
television network, God Television. They claim people are being healed with great miracles. Many
believe this revival is being produced by an ‘outpouring of God.’ However what God is pouring it
out?

Also another minister by the name of Bill Johnson and his ministry is in Redding, California
called "Bethel Church"....He also is associated with Patricia King and ministers in conferences with

focusing on the miraculous to the unsaved and saved....He was interviewed on the 700 Club and
promoted...But Bill Johnson has some false teaching and instructions as well where he is coining
phrases and clichés as if they are the bible...and the youth are following him in that too...we have had
a young person who is wanting to go to his school of the miraculous and "learn"...and this young
person also comes up with his own clichés as if they are totally scriptural like "God is in a good
mood"...there is such a mixture going on all over its just strange to see so many people getting sucked
up in it and justifying it all as of God...

I too have had professing Christians lash out at me when I have warned them of these false
teachers and their bewitching influences...I have pointed out the scriptures from Jesus' own word of
warnings concerning these lying signs and wonders that could if possible deceive even the elect of
God...I have pointed out how Revelations shows how the antichrist will have a fatal wound and be
healed for all the world to see...showing he will be seen with miraculous healing power to deceive
multitudes of people as if he was the Christ....But not a lot of people want to hear that and they falsely
accuse you of being judgmental, not walking in love, dividing up the body, etc...casting evil upon
those who speak the truth...who are actually doing the very thing they judge those who are warning
with the truth of...Those are the times we are in that are just the birth pangs...it is going to get
worse...that these very people who are deluded and deceived will even seek to some of us thinking

Todd Bentley actually has deep roots in the Prophetic movement, and he is one of the very
few ministers that I have ever felt I had to publicly warn people about by name. -His ministry is that
bad. False "angel" encounters of the weirdest kind, gold dust, guided visualizations of the "Third
Heaven" that are straight out of the New Age, etc. And yet there is a "power" with it that makes it all
the more dangerous. vii
Revivals are supposed to come through the “Outpouring of the Holy Spirit,” brought on the
wings of God to reveals His Holy Son Jesus. The center of real revivals reveals Jesus Christ as at its
heart and the convicting power of the Holy Ghost to bring people to salvation, repentance of their
sins, and teach them that Jesus Christi is the Truth, the Way and the Light. In fact, the Bible says that
God is not a respecter of any person.
Angels are messengers of God the Father and He sends them for special assignments.
People in the Bible never sought after angels, nor do you see people commanding them to do things
for them. They are never shown as miracle workers in the Bible and they have never been teachers of
doctrines of the Word of God. God does use them in His work however, He sent His Son to save,
teach and give His power to those who believe. We have no biblical right to command angels to do
our will because they are submitted to the Father. Jesus said that He could have asked His Father to
send Him 12,000 Angels.
(Eph 1:17-23), “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give
unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your
understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what
the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of
his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he
wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the
heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every
name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22 And hath put

all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is
his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.”

When you seek a spiritual experience and ask an angel to come to you, the devil will certainly
send you an angel of light and when you seek to talk to the dead, you will certainly receive an
imitating demon to appear. Demonic angels will also imitate the Holy Ghost.
We are looking at an end-time phenomenon within the Church. In light of all this activity,
Apostle Paul says in (2 Tim. 4:1-5), AI charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ,
who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word, be
instant in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and . . . What? . .
doctrine.@ AFor the time will come when they will not endure sound . . . what? . . . . doctrine; but
after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall
turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things,
endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist make full proof of thy ministry.@ Notice verse one
says, AI charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ . . .@ You=ve got to remember
Paul is talking to a preacher! viii
Church leadership has been unwilling to challenge doctrines of devils and have ignored the
power of these teachings. Seminaries have neglected to criticize the significance of the rise of New
Age acceptance by Church leaders. Consequently, many are ignorant of New Age theories. We find
mixtures of New Age ideologies into the isolated Scriptures twisting them to say things that are not
true. Religious spirits sweep into numerous churches spawning multitudes of false doctrines and
false teachers. Countless are flourishing inasmuch as they offer a nearly perfect counterfeit of Jesus,
His salvation, His church and His gospel. The Apostle Paul forewarned the Church to watch out for
Satan=s infiltrating agent=s when he wrote, AFor if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom
we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel,
which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him,@ (2 Cor. 11:4).
The Lord promised us that the gates of Hell will not prevail against His Church. Praise God for
His revelation knowledge, many pastors and teachers and members of the Body of Christ are
becoming aware that they are in a war zone and they are awakening to the reality of the need of

intense spiritual warfare. The Bible warns us that Satan can get an advantage of us if we remain
ignorant of his devices, (2 Cor. 2:11).
Satan=s strategy to rob the church of her authority and take the glory from Jesus Christ is
breaking down. Many church leaders are becoming alive to the issue of spiritual authority and their
right through the Word of God to take back the ground that Satan has stolen. They are attacking the
devil and defending the faith that was once delivered unto the saints.

It is a misconception amongst Christians to think that a great revival is happening; in fact
the Bible is very clear that the falling away must come first before the Antichrist is revealed and
this is what we are seeing today! ALet no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not
come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of
perdition,@ (2 Thess. 2:3).
What are the "doctrines of devils?@ What is the result of a spirit of error? Can a spirit of
whoredom rule over a church? The Apostle Paul warned Christians to beware of deceivers but also to
take heed that he would not deceive himself (1 Cor. 3:18). Jesus also cautioned Believers to beware
of self deception in (Elk. 21:8). From the beginning of the Church throughout its history, Satan has
attacked by using evil deceivers. "Evil men and seducers shall wax worse, deceiving and being
deceived," (2 Tim. 3:13). ix
HERESY - FLESH
The Apostle Paul exposed heresy as a work of the flesh (Gal. 5:20). This evil self life, the
terrifying result of man's fall, is responsible for the arbitrary choices of pet teachings, as surely as it is
the promoter of drunken orgies, or dastardly murders. A man governed by his natural mind does not
understand the working of the Spirit of God. He may throw himself or herself wholeheartedly into
'religion', becoming so obsessed with the tenets of some particular church or organization that he can
see nothing else. Often such a man is so zealous for the cause he has adopted that he becomes
militant and aggressive to the point of unbending hardness. x
(Gal. 5:24), provide an answer to the problem of heresy. "They that are Christ's have
crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts," God, in the Cross of Christ, condemned and visited
judgment on the fallen self life the flesh. In this way He has supplied the means of slaying the flesh,
and it is our part to accept this means as our own choice. When soberly and quietly we count
ourselves to be "dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord," (Rom.
6:11), we find our affection for, and desires for, fascinating theories, and the sponsors of them, are
dealt with.

WHY ARE HERESIES PERMITTED BY GOD?
But why does God permit such things? Confusion and delusion prevail when another gospel is
preached. Division and strife are present where unscriptural ways are taught. Why does God permit
heresy when the issue of man's salvation and spiritual health are at stake?
The answers to these puzzling queries are supplied in the scriptures, "That they which are
approved may be made manifest among you," (1 Cor. 11:19). The Church shines the brightest when
its ministers are full of the Holy Spirit, lifting a Biblical standard against the darkness of the world. 6
The Bible is full of testimonies of true as well as false teachers.
The test of God=s prophet was not because of the popularity. The majority did not appreciate
Jeremiah's prophecies though he spoke God's Words. Jeremiah's condemnation of the sins of the
people aroused much hostility, both in his hometown of Anathoth also Jerusalem (Jer. 11:18-23).
He spoke out fearlessly and drew upon himself the anger of the court by predicting the capture and
ultimate destruction of Jerusalem. He was forced into hiding during the reign of the tyrannical
Jehoiakim who showed their contempt not only for him but for the word of the Lord by cutting up
and burning the roll of Jeremiah's prophecies. They chose the things they wanted to hear and became
enraged with Jeremiah, even putting him into a pit. The ear-tickling false prophets of Jeremiah's day
have passed away into obscurity while everyone remembers God's prophet, Jeremiah.
He was vindicated when his prophecies came true! "The way of man is not in himself: it is not in
man that walketh to direct his steps," (Jer. 10:23). Jeremiah's statement is just as valid today as it was
when he wrote it. Unfortunately people looking for material success in this world do not necessarily
understand spiritual success in the spirit world.
Jesus must be the dominant part of us, so that we become known in the world as men and women
of God. As we learn obedience and dependence upon the teaching of the Holy Spirit, we are able to
see the works of Satan and detect the true works of God. Heresies exist but The Holy Spirit exposes
them in His word . . . that they which are approved may be made manifest among you,@ (1 Cor.
11:19). You supposed to discern the difference between God=s true servants and the false servants.
Real faith is having confidence in God that He is working on our behalf. Unbelief will not wait for
God to work, but must rush ahead to help itself. Thus, he fails to receive from God; for "He worketh
for him that waiteth for Him," (Isa. 64:4). It is not faith plus something besides; faith stands alone!

I can’t tell you everything because I’m not an occultist… When I got saved, I was
dabbling on the edge of the occult by reading books and trying to do automatic handwriting.
However, I can tell you a few things.
Japanese tattoos are regaining their popularity again amongst the middle classes. Ironically
young Japanese people are going for tattoo designs that can be completed in one sitting such as the
traditional American style tattoos or tribal tattoos. Traditional irezumi is still done by specialist
tattooists. Because Japanese tattoos are so detailed they are also very time intensive and expensive. A
traditional 'body suit' (covering the arms, back, upper legs and chest can take up to five years
of once-a-week visits to complete and cost more than US$30,000 to complete! xi

WHAT DOES THIS SUGGEST ~ LOOK LIKE JESUS TO YOU?
What more can you ask for than to get an eagle tattoo? Tattooing is one of the oldest art forms
created by human beings. Initially tattooing was not considered only an art, but a form of rebellion.
People attached a magical or mystical significance to it, as they used tattoos to symbolize the fertility
of earth and women, the sacredness of chieftainship, preservation of life after death and several other
cultural beliefs. In modern times, technically, tattooing is micro-pigment implantation. It can be done
on human and animal skin. Tattoos on animals are commonly used for identification, while on
humans it is a type of body modification. Today, tattooing is practiced worldwide, despite certain
cultural taboo. In many parts of the world, tattooing is either done for good luck or good health. xii

conviction. Among birds, eagle tattoo designs are very popular. Eagles within the Celtic or
tribal tattoos are very popular among bikers, patriots, extremists and environmentalists.
The presence of the eagle symbolizes freedom, potency and illumination. It indicates
might and spiritual growth. This particular male tattoo design is known to span over the
continents such as the influence of eagles in American tattooing cannot be ignored.
Several patriotic and military service tattoos prominently feature eagles. It is an ancient

presence of the eagle design does not necessarily indicate that the person has a particular
cultural lineage connected with the bird. Recently the eagle has become a fashion

roads to God. Unfortunately, man=s channel of supernaturalism is Satan=s counterfeit
religion. The host of darkness has converged upon the world and many churches are
offering counterfeit faith and counterfeit gifts. The Word of God implies that these spirits
are legion. >Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be
partakers of the Lord=s table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to
jealousy? Are we stronger than he?@ (1 Cor.= 10:21).
The new world religion is here. You can follow any religion that you want and the
Devil will answer. You can worship any false god, demonic angels, including
yourself and it will be fine as long as you don=t say Jesus Christ is the only way back
to God.

stirred up by a "bunch of hooligans. I have ministered in Africa many times and the
manifestation that we are seeing in this “revival” is exactly the same as we see in Africa…The
difference is this, in Africa, they are cast out, However, in America, these demonic
manifestations are call the “anointing of the Holy Ghost.” Strong delusions working by a strange
signs as wonders... This one will lead people to kiss the mouth of hell.

their fair professions and plausible pretences, for they cannot deceive God; but shall be
according to their real character, and their works. Their work is a work of deception, and they
shall be judged according to that. What revelations there will be in the day of judgment, when all
impostors shall be unmasked, and when all hypocrites and deceivers shall be seen in their true
colors! And how desirable is it that there should be such a day to disclose all beings in their true
character, and FOREVER to remove imposture and delusion from the universe! xv

Like many others, the impotent man had been waiting for a wonder to be wrought, and a sign to
be given. Wearily did he watch the I pool, but no angel came, or came not for him; yet, thinking it to be
his only chance, he waited still, and knew not that there was One near him whose word could heal him in
a moment? Many are in the same plight: they are waiting for some singular emotion, remarkable
impression, or celestial vision; they wait in vain and watch for nought. Even supposing that, in a few
cases, remarkable signs are seen, yet these are rare, and no man has a right to look for them in his own
case; no man especially who feels his impotency to avail himself of the moving of the water even if it
came. It is a very sad reflection that tens of thousands are now waiting in the use of means, and
ordinances, and vows, and resolutions, and have so waited time out of mind, in vain, utterly in vain.
Meanwhile these poor souls forget the present Saviour, who bids them look unto Him and be saved. He
could heal them at once, but they prefer to wait for an angel and a wonder. To trust Him is the sure way
to every blessing, and He is worthy of the most implicit confidence; but unbelief makes them prefer the
cold porches of Bethesda to the warm bosom of His love. O that the Lord may turn His eye upon the
multitudes who are in this case to-night; may He forgive the slights which they put upon His divine
power, and call them by that sweet constraining voice, to rise from the bed of despair, and in the energy
of faith take up their bed and walk. O Lord, hear our prayer for all such at this calm hour of sunset, and
ere the day breaketh may they look and live.
