There will be no CartSMART Recycle, Compost and Garbage collection services on Tuesday, December 25, 2012
and Tuesday, January 1, 2013. If your regular collection day falls on or after the holiday, your service will be
delayed by one day. Your regular collection service schedule will resume the week of January 7, 2013.

Tree Cycling Think Green This Holiday Season!

Recology San Mateo County will collect holiday trees to be
composted between December 26th and January 31st, on your
regular collection day.
Please remove all decorations and tree stands (flocked trees are
accepted) before placing next to your green Compost Cart. Trees may
be up to 8 feet in length. If your tree is longer than 8 feet, please cut
the tree before placing the pieces next to your Compost Cart. After
January 31st, please cut the tree to fit inside the Compost Cart.

Please call to arrange for collection of
trees. Trees can be collected in piles or in a
drop box for no additional charge. For more

The City of Redwood City invites Licensed Architects
or Landscape Architects who are knowledgeable,
motivated, committed, and collaborative to apply for
one open seat on the Architectural Advisory
Committee. You’ll bring fresh perspectives and
ideas, and contribute to the City’s discussions and
decisions on a variety of important issues affecting
the community.
Statistics show that during the holidays, household
waste increases by 25%, or nearly 1 million tons
of additional garbage a week! To help reduce the
amount of waste generated this holiday season, we
have the following waste reduction tips:
s Consolidate your purchases into one bag, or
better yet, bring your own reusable tote bags
when shopping!
s Consider sending electronic holiday cards this year.
s Reuse gift bags and gift boxes. They can be
flattened for easy storage and reusing them will
save you money too.
s Be sure to recycle your wrapping paper this
year! If your recycling containers are full, place
extra paper (placed in paper bags) and flattened
cardboard next to your recycling container on
your recycling service day.
