<strong>Hawaiian</strong> Malacological Society (HMS)<br />
2008 Meetings<br />
HMS meetings normally are at the First United Methodist Church, Meeting Room, first floor at<br />
Victoria and Beretania Streets. If there is a conflict with others for the first floor meeting room, a notice<br />
will be posted at the door to the meeting room and at the elevator. The secondary location is on the<br />
second floor on the Beretania street side.<br />
Nov. 5 Christi Martin on Invasive Marine Species, Annual HMS business meeting and<br />
elecetion of officers and directors<br />
Some speakers are forced to cancel their programs due to new requirements of business. We can<br />
always use standby speakers. If you know of an interesting speaker, please suggest to them that they<br />
contact Don Anderson or Dave Watts, or tell Dave the information at (808) 674-0774. HMS needs your<br />
participation.<br />

Events: Silent <strong>Shell</strong> Auction (donations for this auction gratefully accepted – proceeds go to the<br />
HMS scholarship fund) and<br />
<strong>Shell</strong> Related Gift Exchange (bring a wrapped shell-related gift if you wish to<br />
participate).<br />
Menu: Delectable assortment of heavy pupus served buffet style, such as:<br />
Fresh market vegetables with creamy herb dip, seasonal tropical fruit tray, selection of<br />
international and domestic cheeses with fruit, sliced French bread and crackers, penne<br />
pasta with creamy wild mushroom sauce, bowtie pasta with bolognese meat sauce, shrimp<br />
dim sum and scallop dim sum, chicken teriyaki skewers, panko breaded fried shrimp,<br />
cocktail sauce, tempura style Mahi-mahi skewer with lemon garlic mayonnaise.<br />
Pay as you go open bar.<br />
Cost: $25 per person (kids 15 and under at half price).<br />
