Olive was a very active member of the Hawaiian Shell News staff for many years. She was in charge of advertisements carried in HSN, but one of her main functions was in providing good photographs for HSN. She was a very good photographer primarily interested in photographing shells and their animals. After her death, her books of slides was Olive Schoenberg-Dole Slides given to me to insure that those slides were made available to shell scientists and collectors. This is part of that effort. Later, the slides and graphics obtained by scanning them (by Wes Thorsson and Sid Sneidar) will be given to the University of Hawaii.
