(nominated from Planit) are on the working group for the Learning Disability
Reform. Ray briefly outlined the Employability framework that is being developed
in CHCP and the impact of changes to Incapacity Benefit.
d) Opportunities for General Practice Consultation
The main issues raised at this event were ‘access to’ and ‘communication’ with
regards to GP’s. Ray informed the group that new GP Forum was being
developed and would like a fuller discussion at the next meeting.
6. Transport update
Ray talked about CHCP Transport Action Plan which is currently in progress and
highlighted the joint Volunteer Driver Policy. Ray circulated Annual Report for
Ambulance Services. May agreed to get copy for Alan. Alan highlighted the
campaign by RNIB to get the higher rate Mobility Allowance for visually impaired
people.
7. AOCB
a) Disabled Parking Post Cards (Jackie Baillie). May agreed to source the
post card for distribution.
b) Glasgow City Vulnerable Adult Protection Committee was looking for a
carer and a service user from the PPF’s to join this committee. Joe Gigli had put
his name forward to find out more about the remit and commitment of
volunteering for this group and what support would be available.
c) Tobacco Control Strategic Group is also looking for volunteers from PPF to
attend this group and the 3 sub group. May asked members to raise this with
their members.
d) Proposed dates for PPF Meetings 2009 was circulated. Evelyn asked if
carers support would be provided for meeting held outwith day centre hours.
Ray agreed to consider all support requirements.
