Mr. <strong>Bryant</strong> has spent 35 years trying civil lawsuits and arbitrations at <strong>Carrington</strong> <strong>Coleman</strong> as an associate, partner,<br />
and of counsel. He has also practiced for six years as a mediator and arbitrator for FINRA (and its predecessors), an<br />
arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, and a mediator at the request of judges and private parties.<br />
Mr. <strong>Bryant</strong> has broad experience since 1971 representing broker-dealers in suits brought by customers as well as<br />
firm versus firm disputes. He has also been involved on both sides in employee vs. firm lawsuits. Mr. <strong>Bryant</strong> won an<br />
award in favor of one of his sets of clients then designated as the highest punitive damage award in Texas securities<br />
arbitration history.<br />
Mr. <strong>Bryant</strong> has also represented a number of insurance companies in fraud, coverage, and other disputes. He has<br />
represented directors and officers in derivative suits as well as parties defending SEC civil enforcement actions.<br />
Mr. <strong>Bryant</strong> has extensive experience in construction litigation including representing home builders and developers<br />
and the defense of professional malpractice suits representing architects and engineers.<br />
The balance of Mr. <strong>Bryant</strong>’s practice covers general business and other civil litigation. His litigation experience has<br />
covered the breadth of business contract and tort disputes. He has been involved in trials over real estate<br />
partnerships, oil and gas contracts, automotive crashworthiness, legal malpractice, franchise disputes, probate<br />
issues, sale of dental practice, negligent operation of a gasoline station and civil rights claims.<br />
From 2004-2012, the annual Texas Monthly survey of 65,000 attorneys across the state of Texas has resulted in Mr.<br />
<strong>Bryant</strong> being designated as a Texas Super Lawyer, first in business litigation, then in alternative dispute resolution.<br />
Representative Matters<br />
Securities Litigation<br />
Obtained summary judgment for broker/dealer in selling away case brought by 33 sets of defrauded customers.<br />
Represented securities firm in obtaining award from Court of Appeals in case against state university trading<br />
repurchase and reverse repurchase agreements while defeating usury claims.<br />
Won counter claim which included a $1million punitive damage award for fraud, slander and tortious interference for<br />
three former registered representatives while defeating restrictive covenant and breach of fiduciary duty claims.<br />
Real Estate Litigation<br />
Obtained reversal of summary judgment then prevailed in jury trial on sufficiency of property description in<br />
commission agreement for substantial commercial property. This is a leading case on the Texas Statute of Frauds.<br />
Obtained a take-nothing judgment entered notwithstanding a large jury verdict against client after a six week jury trial<br />
over breach of contract and fraud claims involving the acquisition and management of six apartment complexes.<br />

was affirmed by the Fifth Circuit with certiorari denied by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Trade Secrets/Non-Competes<br />
Obtained favorable result for client nursing home in a leading decision of the Texas Supreme Court concerning<br />
covenants not to compete and tortious interference with contract.<br />
Oil and Gas Litigation<br />
Achieved full jury award of requested damages for breach of contract and negligence arising from drilling program.<br />
Professional Malpractice<br />
Successfully defended engineer sued along with developers and supervising architect for Dallas multi-use project in<br />
jury trial over negligence claim for building height restriction.<br />
