In early 2001, four friends from the sunny 

Okanagan Valley launched BC Northern 

Lights. Like every good kid from Kelowna, the 

guys knew a thing or two about hydroponics. 

With daytime experience in automotive 

manufacturing and a bit of entrepreneurial 

flare, they set out to design and build “the 

perfect growing environment”. Today the 

company’s flagship BloomBox is recognized 

as the market standard for indoor gardens. 

BCNL’s motto is “Grow Your Own”. Along 

with the only purpose-built, commercial 

grade grow cabinets on the market, BC 

Northern Lights provides customized 

nutrient management plans, unlimited tollfree 

technical support and live streaming 

“Growinars” through its website (http://

support line, BCNL customers can speak to 

experienced growers and technicians from 

6AM to 10PM pacific time, seven days a week. Today the company employs 15 people and has grown 35% in 

each of the past five years. A progressive attitude motivates the team as collaboration and open communication 

drives operations. 

The way the company treats its employees is carried through in customer care. From the minute a non-customer 

has questions, through their first harvest and beyond, BCNL reps share their knowledge and guide their 

customers’ success. Customer directed R&D has been a strong point. BCNL owns the manufacturing facilities,

You’ve heard the buzz, seen the yields and want to get started growing your own... but if you’ve never 

grown indoors before you probably don’t know how hydroponics works. 

We’ve helped thousands of growers start out with hydroponics and they’ve seen great results. Here’s a 

quick overview of how your BC Northern Lights grow box will work. 

Hydroponics is an indoor growing technique that uses nutrient rich water to feed your plants without using 

soil. Each plant grows out of a grow medium (see grow mediums below) and it’s roots hang down into the 

reservoir of water and nutrients. 

The root system is able to absorb the nutrients and grow the plant without the use of soil which can be 

messy and hard to dispose of. By using the correct amount and type of nutrients you can grow plants 

much quicker and get them to flower faster than with traditional soil growing. 

The nutrients need to be carefully mixed and added to the hydroponics system. BC Northern Lights 

provides custom feeding schedules that are specifically designed to get you the biggest yields out of your 

grow box. 

Our nutrients are scientifically formulated to get the biggest yields in a BC Northern Lights grow box. 

We’ve worked with future harvest to come up with a custom blend just for BC Northern Lights grow

When growing indoors cleanliness is VERY 

important. That’s why all of the parts that go into 

our grow boxes have been specifically designed 

for ease of use and clean operation. There are no 

secret places for mould or mildew to hide in your 

growing environment. 

We build our grow boxes from medical-grade 

powder coated aluminum. An aluminum box is one 

third the weight of a steel construction box, and 

the powder coating both reflects light back onto 

your plants, and makes the boxes incredibly easy 

to clean. 

Over 10 years of experience and our very own 

metal shop to build our grow boxes from scratch 

has aloud us to perfect the indoor growing 

process.

1. Keep up to one mother plants in the left side of your BloomBox. 

2. Take at least 12 cuttings and place them in the clone dome.

4. When your cuttings have rooted (7-10 days) place them in the 12 pot vegetation tub. 

5. After another 7-10 days take your best 9 and move them into the flowering chamber for 7-8

Want a natural way to battle insects? Neem Oil is an oil that is cold pressed from the neem 

seed. Neem Oil works great as it disrupts hormonal balance within insects, which results in 

insects dying before reproducing. Simply mix with warm water in our sprayer with the neem oil 

for a gentler way to protect your harvest. 

Doctor Doom 

Want a not so natural way to off those nasty critters? The Doctor Doom line offers a sure fire 

way to deal with aphids, spider mites, white fly and thrips. Choose between a total release 

room fogger or an aerosol spray can, either way bugs will die! 

Sprayer 

This 1 gallon beauty comes complete with a wand so u can get under the leaves and the back 

of your garden slaying all hiding insects. Simple hand pump action for pressure makes this an

T-5 Upgrade 

Its so simple… why didn’t we think of this before. In addition to the 

digital ballast and fluorescent lighting we already have in our boxes… 

we have now introduced two strips of T5 lighting situated on top of the 

reservoir shinning up underneath to provide light to the lower fruits and 

veggies that would normally shaded by the canopy of leaves from the 

lights above. We have found with the addition of these new T5 lights, 

we are producing 20-30% more yields per harvest. Best $100 a grower 

could ever spend!

turn out the finest end product with minimal effort and maximum results. Each Sensor is run 

between our ultra clean sensor board and the easy to use touchscreen. Once again pre-programmed 

for excellence, u can choose between 1 or all sensors to run with the touchscreen. This is a scaleable 

system that allows you to upgrade as u wish.

laid out touch screen (4” x 5”) automatically. No more hand watering or guessing when the best time to 

water is. 

PH Sensor & Adjuster - No more mid week PH balancing. So Slick Rick, not only will she give u sensor 

reporting but has the ability to adjust with a state of the art dosing system. A perfectly positioned water 

mover by the doser ensures there is no root burn. Having a constant 5.6’ish PH will help avoid nutrient 

lock out and other problems due to drastic ph swings. Full reporting and adjusting is run simply, through 

the touch screen. 

TDS & Water temperature Sensor - Will give an accurate reading of both TDS/EC and current water 

temperature via our luxurious touchscreen. 

C02 Sensor & Adjuster - Once again, perfectly synced to the touchscreen, you can run your unit at 

what ever PPM C02 level u desire. Whether you want to blast the box for spider mites, or ramp up from a 

lower PPM in vegetation to an optimal 1600 PPM in flowering, this work of art does it all. 

Temperature/Humidity Sensor & Optional Heat Adjustment (sensory overload doesn’t include 

heater) - Temperature and humidity reading easily displayed through the chocolaty touchscreen. With 

the heater option, u can set a temperature to maintain for those cold winter nights.
