Unfortunately, it can occur that their PV in-<br />

stallation becomes damaged or gets stolen.<br />

Replacing or repairing the PV installation<br />

involves costs that your customers may not<br />

have accounted for. Moreover, their installa-<br />

tion does not produce energy in the repair<br />

period and your customer will lose revenue.<br />

As an installer, you can secure your custom-<br />

ers’ investment and revenue by offering a<br />

service contract for cleaning, repairs and<br />

maintenance with a <strong>Solar</strong> PV <strong>Insurance</strong> from<br />

<strong>Solar</strong> PV <strong>Insurance</strong> <strong>Service</strong> <strong>Contract</strong> covers<br />

damage caused by weather conditions, fire<br />

and theft and compensates the loss of pro-<br />

tion ‘Inherent defect and warranty’, that<br />

backs up the warranty, even if the manufac-<br />

turer no longer exists.<br />

The <strong>Solar</strong> PV <strong>Insurance</strong> <strong>Service</strong> <strong>Contract</strong> compensates:<br />

1. Costs from material damage due to external causes, e.g.<br />

Natural forces such as hail, snow pressure, frost, wind and storm<br />

Theft and vandalism<br />

Lightning strike, overvoltage, induction and fire<br />

Gnawing of cables by animals<br />

We compensate new materials, labor costs and call out charges. We<br />

also compensate additional costs, such as costs for detecting and<br />

locating the damage and transport and storage costs of parts that<br />

have to be repaired elsewhere.<br />

2. Loss of production<br />

If your customers’ installation is decommissioned due to a damage,<br />

you receive a compensation for the loss of production for a maximum<br />

of 26 or 52 consecutive weeks, with which you can compensate your<br />

customers’ loss of production.<br />

April - September € 2.50 per kilowatt peak installed capacity<br />

October - March € 1.50 per kilowatt peak installed capacity<br />

Option ‘Inherent defect and warranty’<br />

You can extend the <strong>Solar</strong> PV <strong>Insurance</strong> and the <strong>Solar</strong> PV <strong>Insurance</strong> Ser-<br />

vice <strong>Contract</strong> with the option ‘Inherent defect and warranty’. With this<br />

your client is covered against damage caused by an inherent defect from<br />

your solar modules (up to 20 years) and inverters (up to 7.5 years).<br />

You are also covered within the warranty period in case you have a<br />

legitimate claim and the manufacturer no longer exists because of bank-<br />

ruptcy, rejects the claim or disputes his liability. This option is only avail-<br />

able by use of <strong>Solar</strong> <strong>Insurance</strong> certified materials. Read more about this<br />
