With the EKOTEK separator range, we offer you a complete and certified range of separators
and sludge traps.
The separators in the EKOTEK series are compliant with German standard DIN 1999-100/101,
Dutch standard NEN EN-858-1&2 and European standard DIN EN 858 for mineral oil separators
and with German standard DIN 4040-100, Dutch standard NEN EN-1825-1&2 and European
standard EN 1825 for grease separators. The European standards have been harmonised and are
recognised in all European countries.

PERFORMANCE AT A HIGH LEVEL
EKOTEK OIL SEPARATORS
FOR LIGHT LIQUIDS IN ACCORDANCE WITH DIN EN 858
If high and top performances are required like reliability, efficiency and robustness,
then the answer is: Oil separators from the EKOTEK range.
FUNCTION
Oil separators are used to separate mineral light liquids (e.g. oil, petrol) with a density of ≤ 0.95 g/cm³.
Separation happens entirely by means of gravity or as a result of gravity in combination with the coalescence
effect. Two different separator substances are distinguished. Oil rises up to the surface and dirt or sludge
falls to the bottom.
The selection of the separator in detached or integrated design depends on the ratio between the sludge and
the oil. The separate sampling shaft allows easy extraction of samples.

COALESCENCE SEPARATOR RATING
Depending on the quantity of dirty water and the amount of sludge, we offer separators of 3 - 120 l/sec
in detached or integrated designs, if applicable with integrated or detached bypass. The system
configuration is dependent on the dimensioning. The dimensioning is set out in the European standard
DIN EN 858 part 2. On the basis of these standards, we have developed our EKOTEK range in line with
market requirements.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The monolithic, watertight tanks are produced in reinforced concrete (concrete grade C55/67).
They are compliant with exposure classes EA3, XA3 in accordance with EN206-1. They can also be
supplied with PE-HD internal lining or compliant epoxy resin inner coating They have a proven resistance
to biodiesel.
For installation, we use high quality stainless steel or PE-HD parts. The in- and outletpipe, are produced
in flexible NBR elastomers, which are resistant to minor impacts. In the detached design, a sludge trap
of a corresponding size as prescripted in DIN EN 858-2 must be installed ahead of these.

OIL SEPARATOR FOR LIGHT LIQUIDS IN ACCORDANCE WITH EN 858, DETACHED
DESIGN – (A SEPARATE SLUDGE TRAP MUST BE INSTALLED AHEAD OF THESE).
SLUDGE TRAPS
Sludge traps are mainly used to remove precipitable substances from waste water. Their unique design
guarantees a high degree of purifi cation. Fluid decelerating devices prevent turbulence and oozing of sludge.
The housing is resistant to high traffi c loads as standard. The construction and successful operation of the
sludge trap are in accordance with DIN EN 858. The components are made of PE-HD and stainless steel.
FUNCTION
The technology of the EKOTEK MULTISTAGE is used for the detached design. The hydraulic concept guarantees
high and constant cleaning performance. With the optimised use of guide plates, the volume fl ow is slowed
down and a very high separation result achieved with a very limited surface.
To achieve a class I separator, a durable coalescence material is installed that comprises a highly effective
polypropylene fabric with an open, stable structure. Cleaning is easy and can be carried out e.g. using a pressure
washer. The inlet chamber is fi tted with a movable cover. This allows easy sealing of the inlet for maintenance
and general inspection. The independent closure is set at a density of 0.85 g/cm³ as standard and fi tted with
expulsion protection.

Better separation of sediment and light substances is achieved with a lower overall content. If installed,
the durable coalescence material comprises a highly effective polypropylene fabric with an open,
stable structure. Cleaning is easy and can be carried out e.g. using a pressure washer.
The inlet chamber is fi tted with a removable cover. This allows easy sealing of the inlet pipe for maintenance
and general inspection. The certifi ed, independent closure is set at a density of 0.85 g/cm³ as standard
and fi tted with expulsion protection.

EKOTEK GREASE SEPARATOR
TOPO TYPE WITH INNER COATING AND GLOBO TYPE WITH PE-HD INTERNAL LINING
SEPARATOR IN ACCORDANCE WITH EN 1825, WITH INTEGRATED SLUDGE TRAP.
FUNCTION
Grease separators are used to remove vegetable and animal fats such as butter, margarine, suet and oils
or depositable substances from wastewater. A grease separator serves to protect the sewer system and
prevents blockages of fat. Wastewater with high concentration of vegetable and animal substances are
highly aggressive to concrete sewers. Such damage can be avoided using a grease separator with
integrated sludge trap.
Separation happens entirely by means of gravity. Oils and fats rise to the surface because they are lighter
than water and solids are sinking to the bottom of the tank. The fl ow runs through a sampling shaft to
the municipal sewer.
