INTRODUCTION Welcome... On behalf of the executive committee that has worked so hard to launch this exciting event, I would like to welcome visitors to the Kent County Showground for the first annual Agri-Expo (SE) Show for the South East. We are sure you will find a huge amount to interest you at this showcase of machinery, services and ideas geared towards making farming easier, more profitable and, in many cases, both. It has been some years since there was a dedicated industry show of this kind in the area, and judging by the overwhelming support we have received as planning has progressed over the past year, it is clear that Agri-Expo (SE) is meeting a need among farmers, dealers, contractors and manufacturers. This show has come about as the result of impressive teamwork between RAMSAK, the Kent County Agricultural Society and South East Farmer magazine. The executive committee – Jamie McGrorty, Chris Smith, Jeremy Sutton, Alison Wallington and Karen Wheeler – has brought those three organisations together to create what we are sure will be the first of many successful Agri-Expo (SE) exhibitions. There are, of course, other people who deserve our thanks, not least all those Show opening companies that have taken exhibition and advertising space and made the event possible. Their confidence in backing the very first event of its kind matches our own confidence that, with their help, it is destined to succeed. We would also like to thank Mr Peter Kendall, President of the NFU, who is performing the official opening, and the speakers who will be appearing at our Speakers’ Corner, sponsored by Farmplan. We would also like to thank Dianne Quested of Mid Kent Training, Lucy Hegarty here at the Kent Showground, the NFU for sponsoring the draw for the luxury hamper, James Lutener for managing the show website and everyone else who has contributed to the event. We hope you enjoy your day with us and we would like to remind you to complete your registration form and post it in the box in the foyer of the Kent Pavilion for your chance to win the luxury hamper.
