We cannot know for certain, but those who <strong>be</strong>lieve, with<br />
good reason, that <strong>the</strong> <strong>Reb<strong>be</strong></strong> was righteous would grant him<br />
this power. However, this is a power that deceased souls<br />
have. Living <strong>be</strong>ings are still alive and are not housed under<br />
G-d's Seat of Glory.<br />
<strong>The</strong>refore, in framing our overriding question whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>Reb<strong>be</strong></strong> can still <strong>be</strong> <strong>Moshiach</strong> we must ask whe<strong>the</strong>r a dead<br />
person, even one who is righteous and whose soul retains <strong>the</strong><br />
ability to temporarily return to this world, can <strong>be</strong> <strong>Moshiach</strong>.<br />
