Re: Regional Tournament – General <strong>Info</strong>rmation<br />
Worland <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> and the City of Worland are honored to be hosting the 2013 <strong>East</strong> <strong>3A</strong><br />
Regional Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Tournament. We hope that your stay will be enjoyable.<br />
We look forward to a very competitive tournament filled with quality basketball action.<br />
Please read the following information concerning the regional tournament. Additional<br />
WHSAA information will be forwarded to you as it becomes available.<br />
Team Picture/Forms: Worland <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>Activities</strong> will be putting together the regional<br />
tournament program. A team picture, picture identification, and WHSAA form R-1 (roster)<br />
should be emailed to pking@wsh1.k12.wy.us by February 20 th . Please fax WHSAA form S-<br />
1(team record) to us by Sunday, February 24 th by noon. Our fax number is (307) 347-8549.<br />
All Conference Selection: This selection will take place Thursday, February 28th in the Worland<br />
<strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> Library. Boys selection will take place at 8:00pm. and the girls selection at 9:00 p.m.<br />
(immediately following each gender’s semi-final game). Meetings may begin earlier if all coaches<br />
are present but will not begin until each school is represented. Absaraka Conference A.D.’s will<br />
be conducting both meetings.<br />
Awards: Awards will be presented immediately following games to determine<br />
third and first places. The first four teams will be recognized and presented with<br />
a plate for their regional plaques. Twelve individual medals will be presented to the<br />
championship teams.<br />
Bands: Bands are allowed to play during the Regional Tournament. Please let us<br />
know if your band will be attending. Seating arrangements will be made upon their<br />
arrival.<br />
Banners/Noisemakers: Banners, signs, flags and artificial noisemakers are not permitted in<br />
the gym. The WHSAA prohibits artificial noisemakers including, but not limited to:<br />
megaphones in the crowd, cowbells, sirens, clackers, cans containing marbles, coins or<br />
rocks, and various other creative devices. WHS reserves the right to remove any item or<br />
person that is causing disruption to the game or is deemed unsportsmanlike in nature.<br />
Please help in getting this information passed along to your fans.
Benches/Home-Visitor: As you look at the score table, the Home team will sit on<br />
the bench to the left (South) and the Visiting team to the right (North).<br />
Cheerleaders: Please notify us ASAP if your cheerleaders will be attending. If your<br />
cheerleaders or dance teams would like to perform at half-time, please notify us ASAP.<br />
Please have your spirit coaches check-in with tournament director to get tournament<br />
passes.<br />
Concessions/Hospitality: Our concession stand will be open throughout the tournament. In<br />
addition to the concession stand, various WHS clubs/groups will be providing meals for<br />
teams and spectators throughout the tournament.<br />
Crowd Control: Worland <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> is primarily responsible for crowd control<br />
throughout the tournament. However, we would appreciate at least one person from<br />
each school to be available to help prevent trouble before it begins and in dealing with<br />
any other situation that may arise.<br />
Tobacco Free Campus: All Tobacco Products – the use of tobacco products is prohibited in<br />
all the school buildings and on all school property.<br />
Hospitality Room: A hospitality room will be provided for coaches, officials, tournament<br />
workers, school administrators, bus drivers, and spouses.<br />
Locker Rooms: Worland <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> will assign locker rooms and issue a key to lock<br />
valuables. Worland <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> assumes no responsibility for theft. Please take valuables to<br />
your bench area and secure them. Towels will not be provided.<br />
Net Removal: Nets may not be removed after any tournament game per WHSAA rule.<br />
Officials: Officials are assigned for the tournament by the WHSAA.<br />
Passes: Tournament packets will be presented on your initial arrival. Your packet will<br />
include twelve player’s passes, three manager’s passes, three coach’s passes, three passes<br />
for coach’s spouses, and one bus driver’s pass.<br />
Pictures: Huber Photography will be taking game pictures for fans to purchase.<br />
T-Shirts: Regional Tournament t-shirts will be sold by WHS FFA.<br />
Pre-Game Warm-Up: Your team will be guaranteed at least ten minutes of warm-up time<br />
prior to each game. Games will not start earlier than the scheduled time. No warm-ups will<br />
be allowed during the half-time of the previous game. The Worland <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> back gym<br />
will be used for warm-ups for the two teams playing in the next scheduled game. Your<br />
team may schedule the high school back or middle school gyms for practices. Please sign up<br />
with Bruce Miller.
Radio Stations: There will be two phone lines available in the gym as well as internet<br />
access. RTCOM.TV will also be cybercasting all of the tournament games. Have your<br />
parents or fans watch the games on www.rtcom.tv<br />
Statistics: We will be providing a tournament statistician who will provide your teams<br />
with game statistics at the half and conclusion of each game.<br />
Rosters: Your team roster should be entered into the official scorebook at least ten minutes<br />
prior to your first game. This roster may include no more than twelve names. No more<br />
than twelve players may be in uniform during any game. Your team roster may not change<br />
once it is officially entered into the scorebook for your first game.<br />
Sportsmanship: Sportsmanship will be emphasized. We ask all schools to JOIN THE RIDE<br />
with Worland <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong>, Absaraka Conference and the WHSAA by their display of<br />
Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Encouragement towards all. We hope the tournament is<br />
a rewarding experience for all participants, coaches, and fans.<br />
Uniforms: The TOP team in each bracket will be designated the HOME team and will wear<br />
WHITE jerseys. The BOTTOM team in each bracket will be designated the VISITING team<br />
and will wear DARK jerseys.<br />
Videotaping: <strong>School</strong>s are allowed to videotape their games. All video equipment must be<br />
setup in the designated area.<br />
Water: Water and cups will be provided behind each bench.<br />
Certified Athletic Trainer/Medical Professionals: Banner Health will provide medical<br />
assistance throughout the tournament. We will also have a certified trainer on duty during<br />
the entire tournament.<br />
Worland <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> assumes no responsibility for injury or theft during the tournament.<br />

The gym will be cleared of all spectators at the completion of the early session each day.<br />
