Racks, Cabinets & Accessories
We have invested substantial time and effort into the research and development
of our Passively cooled Data Centre Racks & Classic Communication Rack series and
their accessories. CRS racks have been customized to manage and protect universal IT
infrastructure, with practical consideration given to permit interchangeable accessory
combinations at the initial build stage, or at later stages when upgrades are required.
Along with being Australian made to Australian
and International manufacturing standards CRS
racks and cabinets are hardy and robust, yet
contemporary in design, bringing with them
universal compatibility with servers, UPS Systems,
Data storage, Back up devices environmental
management and cable management systems.
Through years of experience in the industry we
understand the space, cooling, and efficiency
issues inside your data centre, comms room or
office, with this in mind our racks and cabinets are
designed with maximum use and functionality in
mind and through your feedback and our R&D,
we have developed industry specific clip in, or
‘tool-less’ features such as our cable management
systems, PDU’s and shelving systems.
We specialize in, and offer a comprehensive
range of standard racks, including 19” racks
and wall cabinets in various sizes, finishes and
configurations. Each rack can be customized with
a range of compatible accessories and options to
produce individual solutions for each project, or
custom designed to suit particular requirements
specific to your design brief.
Along with our classic range of cabinets CRS
also specialize in passively cooled Data centre
cabinets. Our passively cooled cabinets maximize
the flow of air through your cabinet space by
eliminating hot air recycling through the cabinet
and back through your active components. This
is achieved through the design of the cabinet and
its ability to funnel and deflect the hot air and hot
spots generated by your active equipment back to
your CRAC units.
Used in conjuncture with CRS snap in blanking
panels and our contaniment solutions (p 8, p 78),
this solution is a cost effective and green way
to increase the amount of cold air entering the
cabinet without the use of supplemental or active
cooling systems.
These cabinets were developed and designed
specifically with reduction in running costs in mind.
Not only do the passively cooled cabinets increase
HellermannTyton
HellermannTyton Australia, part of the HT group located over
30 countries, providing Various Systems and Solutions for
Fastening, Identifying, Insulating, organising, routing and
connectivity in copper and fibre Networks.
RapidNet is a Hellerman Tyton brand of unique, pre-terminated,
manufacture tested and approved ‘Plug-and-Play” network cabling
system; consisting of snap-into-place Category 6 patch panel
cassettes and high density outlet pods which are delivered to specified
cable lengths on RapidNet custom cable reels.
Designed and manufactured by HellermannTyton, the system is
designed to reduce installation time by up to 75% and alleviate
the potential risk of performance headaches caused by traditional
installation techniques. Customers also benefit, as business disruption
and system downtime due to installation is also significantly reduced.
apidNet Solutions
RapidNet, the world’s leading pre-terminated
cabling system from HellermannTyton provides the
perfect solution for data centre installations of any
size. Available in both fibre and copper, adopting
a RapidNet installation for your data centre can
reduce installation time by up to 95% and therefore
you can bring your clients on-line that much quicker.
Because RapidNet is factory pre-terminated and
pre-tested, there is minimal engineering work
required once the product arrives on site. The
RapidNet concept is based on an innovative and
fully patented cassette that hosts the pre-terminated
fibre or copper connections. The Fibre cassette can
offer up to 24 ports with the LC high density option
or up to 12 RJ45 connections in copper.
The cassettes simply plug into the RapidNet 19”
panel that hosts 4 cassettes providing the 24 or 48
ports per U in copper or up to 96 ports in the LC
fibre version. HellermannTyton also offer a 4-way
cassette, where 6 cassettes occupy a panel and is
the ideal solution for workstation applications.
In the data centre environment the most common
application is cabinet to cabinet and cabinet to
patching field. This is where RapidNet occupies
a unique position and is in a league of its own. By
utilising the cassette to cassette version, with the
cabled loom cut to a specified length, the cassette
is simply inserted into each cabinet or rack mounted
patch panel in a simple and easy action. The cable
that runs between the cassettes is either placed
in the under floor or ceiling voids or in overhead
basket trays depending on your environment.
In comparison to terminating in the traditional
manner, time savings of up to 75% -95% are
realistic and globally proven.
powerware upS Solution overview
Selecting the Right UPS
Eaton’s power management solutions are based
on protecting the nine most common power
problems present in any environment. This unique
approach makes your product selection decisions
about power protection much simpler. The nine
power problems listed below are potentially
harmful to both your data and your hardware.
Eaton’s products offer three levels of power
protection: Series 3, Series 5 and Series 9.
UPS
Based on the parameters defined by your
application, you can select an uninterruptible
power system (UPS) from the series that best
matches your power protection needs. To provide
maximum power protection, Eaton offers a full
line of Series 9 UPSs with both single-phase and
three-phase models in the Series 9 family.
The Eaton's series 3 UPS primarily protects against three of the nine power problems including
power failures, power sags and power surges. This essential, cost-effective protection is
necessary in order to prevent damage such as data loss, file corruption, hardware damage and
equipment shutoff. For example, if your utility fails you could lose all of your work-in-progress.
The Series 3 UPS offers a degree of protection against the remaining power problems and is
most commonly used to protect single workstations and point-of-sale (POS) equipment.
Eaton's series 5 UPS are most effective against five power problems (power failures, power
sags, power surges, under-voltage and over-voltage) and offer a degree of protection against
other power problems. Some of the damages you risk by not using a Series 5 UPS include
premature hardware failure, data loss and corruption, data error, keyboard lockup, storage loss
and system lockup. Series 5 UPSs are recommended for small network systems - all the way
up to enterprise networking environments.
Eaton's series 9 UPSs protect against all nine power problems: power failures, power sags,
power surges, under-voltage, over-voltage, line noise, frequency variation, switching transients
and harmonic distortion. Eaton's series 9 comprehensive protection minimises the opportunity for
component stress, burnt circuit boards, data crashes and program failures. Series 9 UPSs offer
the highest level of power protection available and are always recommended for mission-critical
applications like server farms, hospitals and Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) applications.
Technology: Series 5 (Line-interactive)
Rating: 500-1500 VA
Voltage: 240 Vac
Backup time: Typical 4 min
Configuration: Tower
The Eaton 5110 UPS uses Automatic Voltage
Regulation (AVR) to smooth out wide fluctuations
in input voltage. The Eaton 5110 UPS accepts this
inconsistent voltage and delivers clean, consistent
output for protected equipment. AVR enables you
to work through even the most frequent brownouts
and power sags.
Unlike typical line-interactive systems, the 5110
UPS does not switch back and forth to battery
power to accomplish this voltage regulation -
which would shorten battery life and increase
battery replacement costs. As a result, battery
power is conserved for when you really need it.
Configuration: Rack-mount/Tower convertible
The Eaton 5PX provides exceptional efficiency,
manageability and metering capabilities for IT
managers
Manageability
DDThe new graphical LCD display provides
clear information on the UPS’s status and
measurements on a single screen (in
seven languages). Enhanced configuration
capabilities are also available with easy-to-use
navigation keys.
the first time in the industry the 5PX can
meter energy consumption right down to the
managed outlet groups. kWh values can be
monitored using the LCD or Eaton’s Intelligent
Power® Software Suite.
DDLoad segment control enables prioritised
shutdowns of nonessential equipment to
maximise battery runtime for critical devices.
Load segment control can also be used to
remotely reboot locked-up network equipment
or to manage scheduled shutdowns and
sequential start-ups.
D DThe
5PX offers Serial and USB connectivity,
plus an extra slot for an optional communication
card (including SNMP/Web card or relay contact
card). Eaton’s Intelligent Power® Software
Suite compatible with all major OS including
virtualization software such as VMware and
Availability and Flexibility
DDThe 5PX is available in a rack/tower convertible
version - pedestal and rail kits are included with
all models at no extra charge.
D DStronger,
longer battery life: Eaton ABM®
battery management technology uses an
innovative three-stage charging technique that
only recharges the battery when necessary,
so the battery experiences less corrosion and
service life is prolonged by up to 50%.
DDBatteries can be hot-swapped without ever
having to shut down connected equipment.
With an optional, hot-swap maintenance
bypass module, you can even replace the
entire UPS.
D DThere
is also the possibility to add more
runtime with up to four external hot-swappable
battery modules, able to run systems for hours
if necessary. The additional battery modules
are automatically recognised by the UPS.
eaton 9130 tower
Technology: Series 9 (Line-interactive),
(double conversion on line)
Voltage: 240 Vac
Frequency: 50/60 Hz (auto-sensing)
Configuration: Tower
The Eaton 9130 UPS, resolves utility power
problems and delivers superior power protection
for IT and networking equipment, medical systems,
manufacturing process control — or anywhere
critical equipment and applications require clean,
continuous power.
Double-conversion design for superior
power protection. The 9130 is constantly
monitoring power conditions—regulating both
voltage and frequency. Even when presented with
the most severe power problems, this UPS’s output
remains within two percent of nominal voltage.
With a wide input voltage range, the 9130 does not
depend on batteries to smooth out minor power
fluctuations. Batteries are conserved for those times
when utility power is highly unstable or completely
out. If an outage occurs, the 9130 transfers to
battery with zero interruption in power, making this
an ideal UPS for sensitive and critical equipment.
More real power for less cost. High 0.9 output
power factor enables the 9130 to provide its full
power capability to modern IT equipment that
may have a wide range of leading and lagging
power factors. With a 0.99 input power factor, this
UPS avoids the disturbances that some energy
converters tend to cause.
Features:
D DProtects
connected equipment from five of
the most common power anomalies: failures,
surges, sags, under-voltage and over-voltage
DDProvides more real wattage in less space with
a 0.9 power factor—to protect more equipment
and leave more room to expand IT systems
Technology: Series 9
(double conversion on line)
Voltage: 208-240V
Frequency: 50/60 Hz (auto-sensing)
Configuration: Rack-mount/Tower convertible
The Eaton 9135 UPS resolves power problems
and supplies continuous, conditioned power. You
get clean power for valuable IT and networking
equipment, battery backup to gracefully handle
utility outages, and on-demand visibility into UPS
status from anywhere.
The 9135 delivers superior power protection
for medium-density data centres, banking
and security systems, manufacturing process
control, retail point-of-sale systems and
telecommunications/VoIP equipment. Combining
premium performance with innovative features, the
9135 is an exceptional UPS in its class. Get more
usable power for every utility dollar.
The 9135 provides exactly the level of power
protection needed under the conditions of the
moment—optimising for both efficiency and
performance. When this feature is activated, the
UPS monitors incoming power and operates in highefficiency
mode unless power conditions warrant an
automatic switch to double-conversion mode.
With this technology, the UPS can operate at up to
97 percent efficiency under normal conditions—
and up to 91 percent when poor power conditions
require the UPS to work harder to deliver clean
power. High efficiency leads to a greener IT
infrastructure—one that uses less energy and
dissipates less heat, which in turn reduces power
and cooling costs.
Today’s racks of IT equipment are requiring even
greater power, from computer rooms and wiring
closets to commercial data centres. Whether you
manage the IT needs of a small and medium
business or a commercial facility, you know it is a
challenge to provide in-rack power protection for
expanding loads in shrinking spaces.
Fortunately, technology advancements have also
raised the power density of power protection systems.
The Eaton 9140 uninterruptible power system (UPS)
delivers efficient, reliable power protection in only 6U
of rack space, including batteries.
This double-conversion, online UPS resolves
all nine common utility power problems and
supplies clean, continuous power to all connected
equipment. If utility power goes out altogether,
there is no delay transferring to backup power,
either to UPS batteries or an auxiliary generator.
Eaton BladeUPS is the first product on the
market to offer a “Online , Double Conversion
On Demand” power technology. This innovative
design takes into consideration the design
capabilities of the actual computer power supplies
in such a manner that the UPS furthers that
capability in order to provide an extremely efficient
and robust protection solution without generating
additional heat.
The BladeUPS is a rack-mounted three-phase
input and three-phase output uninterruptible
power system. Each 12kW module can be
paralleled to achieve a maximum 60 kW N+1
system. Paralleling can be accomplished for either
redundancy or capacity purposes. Each 12 kW
module is identical and can be converted from a
single stand alone UPS to a system capable of
being paralleled by simply changing the power
cord. The BladeUPS is designed for computer data
centre installations.
Paralleling of the BladeUPS modules takes place
in the BladeUPS bar, which is mounted separately
in the rear of the IT rack. This bar provides the
required input and output power connections
for the BladeUPS modules. Each BladeUPS bar
comes equipped with full 60 kW rated input and
output lugs within a designated wiring area. The
protected load can be connected to the wiring
section, or distributed output can be taken in 12
kW increments from the locking output connector
on the rear of the BladeUPS module.
A single BladeUPS module can be connected
Meet current and changing requirements with
modular architecture
The building block of the Eaton BladeUPS system
is a 6U rack-mount module that provides 12 kW
of backup power protection. The system expands
easily to provide maximum results. As your data
centre grows, the system’s modularity plays a
key role in optimising your capital planning and
deployment. Using the patented and field-proven
Hot Sync paralleling technology, up to six BladeUPS
modules can be paralleled for extra capacity or
power protection in one 19 inch rack.
Patented load-sharing control intelligently distributes
the workload among modules without requiring
direct synchronisation links among them. Any
module can provide backup support for any other,
with no interruption or downtime. For instance,
in a redundant system you could perform full
maintenance on any module without any interruption
of conditioned power to the protected IT equipment.
Redundant N+1
ack power Module
Partner the Eaton BladeUPS with a Rack
Power Module (RPM) to create a highly flexible,
adaptable power delivery architecture at the rack
level. The RPM delivers up to 36 kW of power in
an organised manner to loads of various voltages,
power cords and layouts.
The 3U RPM can be deployed in the same rack
with the UPS and IT equipment; there’s no need
for a dedicated infrastructure rack. The resulting
architecture has fewer cables to manage, fewer
distribution points to monitor, and greater flexibility
for IT personnel make changes without an
electrician. Consider a Tier II data centre with 42
racks at 5 kW per rack: the BladeUPS with RPM
can meet power requirements with half the number
of racks, 60 percent less rack space, 45 percent
less cabling and 41 percent less square footage
than other vendors’ power distribution products
that require dedicated racks.
erM – environmental rack Monitor
DDMonitors temperature and humidity at two
locations plus up to four additional input contact
D DDisplays
real-time status to a PC, internetready
system (NMS) software
DDAutomatically notifies designated recipients of
out-of-range conditions
D DAuto-discovery
of up to 100 ERMs on a network
and auto-aggregation utilities
DDHelps to protect critical assets from variables
including: Temperature, Humidity, Presence
of smoke, Presence of water, Intrusion of
enclosures and Vibration or shock
The power density in the data centre is increasing
and the equipment is getting smaller. At the same
time more and more heat is being produced.
Racks are becoming more tightly packed and
there is less room for air flow. Temperature rise
in a cabinet is fast and localised, and the ERM
enables the data centre manager to monitor heat
COMPUTER ROOM SOLUTIONS - PROUd dISTRIbUTORS Of
UPS
These advantages make the BladeUPS with RPM
ideal for distributed protection in small to mid-sized
data centres, or to add zone protection in large
data centres that have centralised UPSs.
The BladeUPS core ePDU, the RPM, delivers
up to 36 kW of single-phase power. The 3U
RPM can be deployed in the same rack with
the BladeUPS and IT equipment, so there is no
need for a dedicated infrastructure rack. The
resulting architecture gives great flexibility for
IT staff to configure their data centre.
and humidity in the racks and act quickly when
needed. The ERM has options for detecting
smoke, water, vibration and door opening and
closing. It provides results over the network via a
Web page interface. Data centre managers can
also monitor up to a hundred different ERMs from
a single IP address.
crS containment Solutions
CRS design, manufacture and install containment
solutions. Our containment options can be designed
and fabricated with or without the presence of a
raised floor, used in conjuncture with both in-row
coolers and CRAC units, implemented & installed
on non-CRS cabinets and can help you and your
business achieve instant benefits in regards to;
DDIncreased cooling capacity
DDAllows for accurate cooling requirement
forecasting
DDIncreased CRAC efficiencies by allowing for
higher return air temperature post installation
due to the reduction in dissipation between hot
and cold airflows
DDSmaller Carbon footprint
DDHeavy reductions in energy costs
DDIncreased efficiency and reduced maintenance costs
DDProlong and extend the life of equipment by
allowing them to operate at much more efficient
and less taxing levels
DDLower chiller running costs
DDCool much higher heat loads per rack with
much less power draw.
Post inspection by a qualified CRS delegate a
containment solution will be designed around your
requirements. If you already occupy space within a
data centre or communications room, our solution
can be seamlessly integrated and retro-fitted on
site. A qualified CRS installation specialist will
seal off your aisles using high density Danpalon
sheeting and treated aluminium extrusions.
Using concealed retention clips the fully assembled
system is free floating. Each component is free
Containment Solutions
At CRS we believe in a ‘complete solution’ for your data centre or comms room however we
understand that that not every key fits the same hole and not all solutions fit every problem.
We appreciate and understand all of your cooling, power and additional operational
parameters and specialise in the design of containment solutions large and small for your
data centre helping you to not only drastically reduce your running costs but by also enabling
and empowering you to become more energy efficient in the long term thus reducing your
carbon print, reducing emissions and substantially reducing your cooling and energy costs.
to thermally expand or contract at its own rate,
eliminating “waves” or deflections and maintaining
the structural properties of the material. This
technical superiority is appreciated through a wide
range of quality installations throughout the world.
By choosing a CRS containment solution you a
making a choice to only cool a targeted area; rather
than aimlessly pumping cold air (at your expense)
into a “general area” thus eventually and inevitably
allowing it to dissipate and mix with the hot air
generated at the rear of your cabinets.
DDCan dramatically reduce energy costs,
minimize hotspots and improve the carbon
footprint of data centres
DDCan be used with or without conventional
raised floor cooling. It is easily retrofitted into
existing raised floor data centres and works
in tandem with the raised floor as well as with
extreme density cooling systems to produce
highly efficicient cooling solutions.
DDUp to 20-30% reduction in chiller costs
DDConsistently separates cold and warm areas
without requiring structural changes to the data
centre. A cold aisle retro fit can be implemented
easily and quickly.
DDAisle containment has 2 distinct advantages.
First, it increases the cooling capacity and
energy efficiency of the cooling unit and second
, the increased capacity, together with the
separation of hot and cold air, makes it possible
to cool higher heat loads per rack.
DDCold Aisle Containment with internal cooling
can cool more than 30kw per rack.
