On motion by Mr. Brent Callais and unanimously seconded, the following ordinance was
introduced at a regular meeting convened on May 23, 2006:
PROPOSED ORDINANCE
The following ordinance, having been previously introduced and published in full and a public
hearing held thereon on June 13, 2006, was offered for final adoption by Mr. Mark Atzenhoffer, and
seconded by Dr. Tommy Lasseigne:
ORDINANCE NO. 3837
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3755 APPROVING THE
HOLDING OF AN ELECTION IN DRAINAGE DISTRICT NO. 1 OF THE
PARISH OF LAFOURCHE, STATE OF LOUISIANA, ON SATURDAY,
SEPTEMBER 30, 2006, TO AUTHORIZE THE LEVY OF A SPECIAL TAX
THEREIN, SO AS TO AMEND THE DATE OF THE ELECTION FROM
SEPTEMBER 30, 2006 TO JULY 15, 2006.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Drainage District No. 1 of the Parish of Lafourche,
State of Louisiana (the “Governing Authority”), acting as the governing authority of Drainage District
No. 1 of the Parish of Lafourche, State of Louisiana (the “District”), adopted a resolution on November
10, 2005, and amended on March 2, 2006, calling a special election in the District on Saturday,
September 30, 2006, to authorize the levy of a special tax therein (the “Resolution”); and
WHEREAS, the Governing Authority adopted a resolution on May 11, 2006, amending the
Resolution, so as to change the date of the election to July 15, 2006;
WHEREAS, the governing authority of the District has requested that this Parish Council, acting
as the governing authority of the Parish of Lafourche, State of Louisiana, amend Ordinance No. 3755
adopted by the Parish Council on March 1, 2006, so as to change the date of the election to July 15,
2006;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Parish Council of the Parish of Lafourche,
State of Louisiana, acting as the governing authority of said Parish, that:
SECTION 1. The date of the election be changed from September 30, 2006 to July 15, 2006
throughout Ordinance No. 3755.
This ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
