INFORMATION
School subjects you like
& jobs they can lead to

A good place to start exploring career pathways
is to think about the school subjects you enjoy
USING THE BULLSEYE CHARTS
* Think about a school subject you enjoy – and check out the
relevant bullseye chart. There are 30 subjects to choose from
* The four different circles of the bullseye represent the different
levels of training you have to undertake to get that job
• The first level is finishing Year 10, Certificate I or II or an Australian
Apprenticeship, going up to the last level which is a Bachelor Degree
or higher qualification (usually at university)
* Have a look at the different jobs that are related to that subject
* Highlight a few jobs you are interested in and look them up on
jobguide.deewr.gov.au or myfuture.edu.au
• Job Guide helps you explore career options and make subject
choices. It has information about a wide range of occupations and
their education and training pathways, including
Australian Apprenticeships
• Job Guide also includes useful information on the job search process
and provides details of government assistance and where to go for
further information
• myfuture.edu.au is Australia’s national online career information and
exploration service. Go to the My Guide section and create your own
personal action plan to help you reach your career goals
• Search for “Bullseye” on myfuture.edu.au and find interactive
bullseye charts with hyperlinks to corresponding occupation profiles.
The profiles have information such as duties and tasks, related
courses, earnings, vacancies and more
NEXT STEPS
* Discuss your ideas with your friends, parents, teachers and
career adviser
* Find out about opportunities at school – ask about work
experience, Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) or Australian
School-based Apprenticeships
* Look into what your local education and training providers have to
offer
* Check out career expos or open days in your area
