Dear Students,
Heartiest Congratulations on your having successfully qualified through the AIEEE-2008 Entrance
Examination Process for B.Tech. in Information Technology / Electronics & Communication Engineering at IIIT-
Allahabad / Amethi Campus(RGIIT).You might be already aware that IIIT-A is a Centre of Excellence
established by Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India, New Delhi in 1999 (Amethi Campus -
2005).
From our website, you shall be further apprised about the rich culture, practices, policies and progress
made by IIIT-A during its short existence of about Eight years. It is also pertinent to apprise that in the recent
Survey of Technical Institutes of the country conducted by the Data Quest every year, the Institute has been
ranked at No. 8 on All India basis. This alone speaks volumes of the on-campus ambience.
This is to however further apprise you that at the Hostel, each student is provided with a Cot, Table ,Chair
and an Almirah Space, the suggested list of items that may be required by a Hosteler during the course of his /her
stay on Campus is likely to include the following:
• One Bucket with 2 Mugs + Soap with Soap case + Door Lock
• Bedding with warm Clothing, Blanket / Quilt & Mosquito Net
Temperature at Allahabad & Amethi ranges between 5-7 C in Winters & 45 – 49 C in Summers.
• Table Lamp – In case you are habitual otherwise Tube lights are provided in all rooms.
• Appropriate Clothing and Shoes.
If you have any further clarifications, Pl. feel free to contact us. Kindly however note Schedule of joining
the Institute as follows:
1) First Appearance at the Institute (This is the First time you report at the Institute after you have been
allotted IIITA Allahabad Campus or Amethi Campus by your AIEEE-2008 Counseling Centre) :
Irrespective of whether you have been allotted IIIT-Allahabad Campus or Amethi Campus Pl. report at
IIIT-Allahabad Campus during the period as specified in the AIEEE Counseling Broucher. All fees as per
the attachment (Ann.1) shall have to be paid on this visit alongwith all Original Certificates as detailed in
Ann.2. All Original Certificates shall be retained by the Institute (So NECESSARILY maintain an
attested copy of all certificates with you for your any future use)
2) Second Appearance at the Institute: This is the time when classes shall commence at the respective
Campuses of the Institute as per the schedule below:

How to reach IIIT-Allahabad ?
• Nearest Railway Station: Allahabad Junction. This is about 7 kms. from Institute, which is
situated in Jhalwa, Allahabad (adj. Rajrooppur locality). Best is to alight on Platform No.1 site
and hire an auto rickshaw for about Rs.80-100, depending upon day-night timings of your arrival.
• Allahabad is very well connected by Trains as well as Air route from both Delhi as well as
Kolkata sides. All Rajdhani, Superfast, Mail & Express trains have a halt at Allahabad Junction.
Allahabad can also be reached from Varanasi and Lucknow by Train & Road routes very
conveniently.
• “Bhamrauli” is the name of Allahabad Airport. This is also about 7 kms from the Institute.
IIIT-A Amethi Campus (RGIIT)
• The developing extension campus is situated in Tikarmafi, Amethi, Distt. Sultanpur (UP)
• Nearest Railway Station / Bus Station is Amethi, which is about 8kms from Tikarmafi. Auto
rickshaws ply on this route @Rs.40-60 depending upon day-night timings.

Extension counters of Canara Bank & Indian Overseas Bank exist at the Institute where students can
