Coach <strong>Steve</strong> <strong>Adley</strong> joins the <strong>McEachern</strong> coaching staff in 2012 and brings a wealth of defensive knowledge and experience from<br />
several coaching assignments. Coach <strong>Adley</strong>’s abilities caught the eye of Head Coach Kyle Hockman when he coached against him<br />
at Wheeler H.S. while Coach Hockman was at Campbell H.S. Coach <strong>Adley</strong>’s most recent assignment was from a past <strong>McEachern</strong><br />
rival, East Paulding, where he served as linebackers coach.<br />
Coach <strong>Adley</strong> has had the opportunity to carry great responsibility and has been able to enjoy success that spans many of his coaching<br />
positions. In 1996, his team at Lakeside was able to reach the esteemed position of being State Runner’s Up. He has held the<br />
position of defensive coordinator at 5 different stops and spent two seasons as the Head Football Coach at Chamblee H.S. In 2006,<br />
at Wheeler H.S., he was able to help engineer a turnaround and bring the team to a first round playoff berth. At East Paulding,<br />
again, Coach <strong>Adley</strong>’s contributed to helping his team to make the State Elite Eight in playoffs in two consecutive years.<br />
As a developer of talent, Coach <strong>Adley</strong> has been able to see some of his players reach the heights of success. While at Lakeside, he<br />
was able to develop Bruce Adrive, who was 1st Team All State and eventually went on to receive a scholarship to the University of<br />
Georgia. Similarly at Milton, he helped Sean Bailey to also achieve 1st Team All State and also receive a scholarship to Georgia.<br />
Additionally he was highly responsible for coaching Charles Bay, who was Honorable Mention All State and received a scholarship<br />
to Dartmouth. At Chamblee H.S., serving as Head Football Coach, <strong>Adley</strong> was able to help Michael Killean achieve Honorable<br />
Mention All State and see him gain a scholarship to Furman University. While at Wheeler <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong>, Coach <strong>Adley</strong> coached<br />
Chris Nesbitt, who had the esteemed honor of being on the Cobb County Super 11, earned honorable mention All-State and was<br />
awarded a scholarship to Jacksonville State. At East Paulding, he coached a pair of First Team All Staters in Taylor GAbois and<br />
Andre Suttles. Gabois was awarded a scholarship to the University of Miami, while Suttles was a scholarship athlete at the United<br />
States Air Force Academy.<br />
As a player, Coach <strong>Adley</strong>, played high school football at Creighton Prep in Omaha, Nebraska. Later, he played outside linebacker<br />
for Bob Petrino Sr. at Carroll College in the Frontier Conference. Coach <strong>Adley</strong> will be teaching history at <strong>McEachern</strong>. He is married<br />
to Laurie and the two enjoy relaxing at home with their 4 dogs.
