Over 700 guests including fishermen, friends, politicians<br />
and local businessmen gathered on August 16, 2008, to<br />
partake in the eighth <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Hook</strong>ers Ball: <strong>Hook</strong>ers<br />
Ball Goes Rio Carnivale.<br />
The event celebrated the successes of the local fishing fleet and raised<br />
awareness about the most urgent challenges facing our traditional fishing<br />
community… with unique flare!<br />
Thanks to the generosity and support of our guests, CCCHFA raised<br />
over $80,000 for our Ecosystem Restoration Program to restore essential<br />
river herring habitat while educating concerned citizens on destructive<br />
fishing practices in the herring fishery.<br />
Committee members and volunteers worked countless hours to make<br />
this event a tremendous success! Many thanks to all who were involved!<br />

Now in its ninth year, the <strong>Cape</strong> <strong>Cod</strong> <strong>Commercial</strong> <strong>Hook</strong> Fishermen’s<br />
<strong>Association</strong>’s 2009 <strong>Hook</strong>ers Ball is taking on the recession and celebrating<br />
our beginnings and achievements. Enjoy our famous fish fry, raw bar and<br />
open bar, accompanied by mini-live auctions, dancing and entertainment.<br />
