Calling all Young Adults!
There will be a young adult ministry group coming
here to St. Paul’s called
Spirit and Truth!
The group will include a speaker,
Eucharistic Adoration,
worship music, food and fellowship!
The group will meet
every Thursday night from 7:00pm-9:00pm.
The group will start in the Convent Basement–
north door (Youth Ministry Center) at 7:00 followed
by Adoration and Discussion in the
Church
(using north middle door).
ALL young adults between the ages of 18 and
39 are welcome, single or married.
It is a great opportunity to meet new people and
grow in faith!

The Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart
will host our eleventh annual fundraiser, on
Sunday, September 23, at the Odyssey Country
Club in Tinley Park, Illinois. “Fraternitas
2012: South Pacific” is in the planning to be a
fundraiser and a friendraiser. The evening will
include a delicious dinner, entertainment,
unique decorations, a variety of raffles and a
live auction.

All- School Reunion Event
October 20-21, 2012
All graduates, attendees, & teachers of the long-closed
Sacred Heart Grade School on South Ottawa
Street in Joliet, Il are invited to a reunion
with their former classmates. The reunion
will take place at Giovan’s Restaurant
and Pizzeria in Crest Hill, IL. The
time is from 6:30-9:30 PM on Saturday,
October 20. Cost is $15 and includes a
pizza, salad, & bread buffet. There will be a cash
bar. Everyone is also invited to a special Mass on Sunday,
October 21 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 337 S. Ottawa
Street in Joliet. An informal reception in the church hall will
follow the Mass.

MARRIAGE AND THE CHURCH
There has been much news lately about the
Church's teaching on contraception and the
sanctity of marriage. As Catholics, we may be
asking thoughtful questions or struggling to understand
this teaching. To learn more all parishioners
and especially engaged and married
couples are invited to attend a
talk, "Marriage-Love and Life"
on Tuesday, September 25

Dolores R. Leckey, former executive director of
the Secretariat for Family, Laity, Women and
Youth at the United States Conference of Catholic
Bishops, will present: "At the Threshold:
Women, Tradition, Modernity." She will explore
ways of bringing the voices of women into
the decision making processes of the church
and how best to use the gifts of women in
church (and secular) leadership. Come be a part
of this 8th annual Bishop Imesch Lecture Series on
September 18, 2012 at 7pm in
San Damiano Hall at the University
of St. Francis, Joliet,
