Bad Ratzes is situated in a beautiful, solitary spot in the heart of the Schlern Nature Reserve at an
altitude of 1200 metres (3937 ft). The hotel is set amid 22 hectares of ground on a large meadow,
beside a crystal clear alpine stream and surrounded by an ancient pine forest with the Schlern
Mountain as a backdrop. Guests of all ages, with or without children, will find a welcoming
atmosphere and congenial surroundings, a home from home with plenty of things to do whatever
their tastes and preferences.
Winter: the hotel is open from Friday December 23 rd 2011 to Tuesday 10 th April 2012.
Summer: the hotel is open from Saturday May 26 th 2012 to Sunday September 30 th 2012.

Winter on the Seiser Alm
The Seiser Alm is set amid the most breathtaking Dolomite scenery with ski slopes to suit all
abilities and there are no crowds at the lifts. The sunny and mild Seiser Alm is an ideal ski resort
for families with children (60 km of downhill runs), a paradise for cross country skiers (60 km of
trails) and also enormously popular among snowboarders. There is also plenty to do if you decide
to take a break from skiing: horse-drawn sleigh rides, tobogganing, mountain walks. 30 km on
well-groomed trails await keen winter walkers with plenty of snug Alpine huts along the way to
call in to for a rest, to warm up and replenish your energy.

sledging days 6 days a week. Included in the full-board

Avoid downtime!
• Alpincenter ski rental:
call by the Alpincenter Rental Point in Seis on the evening
before your first skiing day (up to 8pm) and book
your gear (coming from Bolzano/Bozen turn right before
the roundabout; Garni Alpin). The following morning you
can collect your complete equipment at the top terminal
of the Seiser Alm gondola lift directly on the ski run in
the Alpincenter deposit/rental.
• Family discount (valid I.D. document required):
you can purchase your ski pass (min. 2 days) directly at
hotel Bad Ratzes.
• Ski pass reductions:
- Free ski pass for children aged under 8 (born after
26.11.2003), as long as one adult per child buys a ski
pass

We make single travellers feel at home at Bad Ratzes: our single rooms are
spacious and each is furnished with a double bed.
In the case of 1 adult and 1 child sharing the double room “Goi-Wiese” or
“Wiese”, the adult pays the price of a single room.
In the case of a booking of a suite for 2 adults a supplement of E 53.- per
day will be added to the full board price.
Prices are quoted per person per day and include:

All rooms are served by a lift, have a balcony and are equipped with
telephone, TV, safe and icebox. In the bathroom you will find a make-up
mirror, hair-drier, bath robe and bathroom slippers. Rooms in the main
building have a bathroom with bath. Rooms in the new building have a bathroom
with a shower, while family rooms are additionally equipped with
a nappy-changing table and space for baby care items.

Other things you will certainly want to know:
On your day of arrival
your room will be available as of 3 p.m. Please consider this when planning
your journey. Should you arrive earlier you can park your car in the
garage, take a stroll and become acquainted with the surroundings.
Otherwise you can relax in one of the lounges and let the children enjoy
themselves in the play room or on the children’s play park.
From 12.30 onwards you can dine in our restaurant. In this way the waiting
time will also become pleasant and relaxing.
Please let us know if you are unable to arrive in time for dinner (8 p.m.)
On the day of your departure your room, well be at your disposal until
10 a.m.
Cancellations
There is no cost for cancellations received up to 21 days (three weeks)
before to the booked arrival date.

The Seiser Alm
Measuring 60 square kilometres and at altitudes straddling the 2,000 metre (6,560 ft) line, the
Seiser Alm is Europe’s vastest expanse of Alpine pastureland and at the same time one of the
world’s most stunning natural landscapes. If offers an endless variety of walks and hikes from easy
to challenging through to mountaineering and rock climbing. The meadows are ablaze with Alpine
flowers in spring, from around mid May until they are mown in July.

Hiking
For our walking enthusiasts: Martina our guide organises memorable walks in summer and in
winter 6 times a week. We will gladly lend walkers or hikers a map, rucksacks, water bottles and
telescopic walking poles (free of charge).
No need for the car. Guests can avail themselves of our free bus service to Seis and the Seiser Alm
gondola lift terminal, so you can leave your car in our garage. Leave the car at the hotel and let
public transport take the strain. There is an extensive bus service covering the entire Schlern
region and connecting Seis with South Tyrol’s major towns (Bolzano, Brixen etc), all at very
reasonable prices.

We offer a child care service for our smallest guests aged 18 months to 3 years from Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to
3 p.m. Infants are looked after in a cosy, snug “nest” of their own. They can look forward to a delicious lunch together at
12.30 p.m. after which they can settle down to play quietly, perhaps to crawl, join in a game, or just take a nap.
Infants aged 3 and over are invited to join in exciting supervised activities together with children of their own age, each
day from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Our nannies look forward to caring for them, in the Great Outdoors, or indoors in the
“Marmots’ Den” where there are plenty of toys and a corner for being creative and making things. Our well-equipped
adventure playground awaits them directly in front of the hotel. Beyond the play ground they can explore the Alpine
woods, meadows and mountain stream, all in excellent caring hands and in complete safety.
Youngsters, girls and boys have a place all of their own where they can meet, play table tennis, table football, billiards as
well as try out their skills on a climbing wall. They have unrestricted access to this area.

How to reach Bad Ratzes
To Bad Ratzes by car
Coming from the north along the Brenner motorway,
exit Klausen (Klausen - Bad Ratzes: 19 km):
• Follow the signs for Bozen as far as Waidbruck.
• At Waidbruck cross the Eisack river on your left hand side.
At the roundabout, turn right in the direction of Schlerngebiet.
• When you get to Seis, keep to the main road, pass the post office and
turn left into the Ibsen Strasse (from there to Bad Ratzes 3 km)
Coming from the south along the Brenner motorway,
exit Bozen Nord (Bozen Nord to Bad Ratzes: 22 km):
• Coming from the direction of Verona on the motorway A 22.
Take the exit Bozen Nord.
• Turn left along State Road 12 in the direction of Brenner and
continue as far as Blumau.
• At Blumau there are two tunnels on your right: take the left hand
tunnel in the direction of Schlerngebiet.
• When you get to Seis after you have passed the ESSO filling station and
bus stop turn right into the Ibsen Strasse (from there to Bad Ratzes 3 km)
To Bad Ratzes by public transport:
Take the train to Bozen or Brixen and from there take the bus to Seis.
If you let us know your time of arrival we will book a taxi to collect you
from Bozen or Brixen railway station or from the bus stop at Seis. Do not
hesitate to ask for time tables and taxi prices. We’ll send them to you.
Budget flights to Italy/Dolomites:
Book your flight and transfer via the Ryanair website. Taking a low cost
transfer service from any of the northern Italian airports served by budget
airlines (Milan/Bergamo, Verona/Brescia) to Bad Ratzes in the Dolomites
by bus.
