PDM-Multifunction Force Measuring Plate
Measuring System for Analzying Force Distribution
The zebris multifunction force
measuring plate operates with 1504
capacitive force sensors arranged in
a a 32 x 47 cm matrix. It allows
analysis of the static and dynamic
force and pressure distribution under
the feet / shoes when standing and
walking.
The areas of application cover
simple and fast dynamic roll-off
analysis and static load distributions.
These can be used to determine foot
function.
For the analyses, evaluation of the
data measured takes place directly
after the measurement.
Roll-Off analysis
The results are available in the
shortest possible time by way of a
“Report”
The PDM-S system is used as a
stand-alone measuring unit and is
connected via an USB interface to a
standard PC.
The system does not need any
additional electronic devices.
The PDM system consists of a
multifunction force measuring plate
with a special connecting board
integrated in the zebris motion
analysis system.
PDM-Multifunction Force Measuring Plate
Analysis of the Static Load Distribution
The measuring system is able to
show two-dimensional and
three-dimensional displays of the
static load distribution in real
time.
When analyzing the standing
position, the load exerted by the
left/right sides of the body and at
the front and back of the foot is
displayed in a bar chart and also
as a numeric value.
A line connecting the main points
of the body supplies immediate
information regarding
asymmetrical load distribition.
The measuring data are recorded
over a definied period and the
results are averaged.
The results are clearly displayed
in a report.
PDM-Multifunction Force Measuring Plate
Performing of Dynamic Roll-Off Analyses
Measurement of roll-off
characteristic and load sequence is
carried out while the test person
walks over the force measuring
plate.
The system records the floor
reaction forces both barefoot and
with shoes. This makes it possible
to determine the influence of shoes
and inlay soles on roll-off behavior.
Measurement of the load
sequence is shown on the
monitor screen in either two
dimensions or three dimensions
and color-coded.
After the measurement, the roll-off
behavior characterized by the gait line
and the load distribution under the
foot is displayed as a maximum
pressure pattern.
For detailed analysis, the roll-off
process can be called up continuously
or in stages in individual images.
An unlimited number of off-roll
analysis can be recorded. The
calculation of the average value
happens automatically in the report.
