Natural and artificial realms seem to follow similar morphogenetic mechanisms. The image reproduces a plate from Ernst Haeckel’s Kunstformen der Natur, showing several radiolarians from the order Stephoidea. They can be found in zooplankton and are very primitive, going back to the Cambrian period. The mix of algorithms used to produce Evolution sculptures came up with the same solutions.
