Since 2001 the company has kept its front-runner position in the Laser hair removal and skin 

treatment field To satisfy the growing needs of the world market, the company went through a 

fast, dynamic growth. 

In 2004 and 2005, following the constant request from its customers for a professional 

line of products, MEDICAM decided to create its own Research center by developing and 

improving the laser technology. Today, Medicam can provide its distributors and

diodes, yag, IPL, CO2, Q-Switch lasers. Medicam is a Canadian company and IKYT is an 

American Company. The diodes that we use are from the USA, IPL lights are from Japan and 

Germany, Electronic boards are from Asia, Canada and USA, Casing designed in Canada and 

manufactured in Shanghai in our factory to lower the costs. All electronic boards are insulated and 

protected individually with a metal grill, the diode modules are internally cooled since the box in 

which each module is, has an internal and integrated cooling device so that the laser hand piece 

does not overheat. All IPL have a color touch screen and diode lasers have either a LED screen or 

a color touch screen for precision and high performance.

Usage Recommendations 

Choosing the right Laser system is the most important step in the entire process of laser 

epilation. The following guide will help you match the correct system with the general criteria 

necessary for successful usage and for each specific purpose. 

What Is Your Skill Level? 

If you are new to laser hair removal, tattoo removal, skin rejuvenation etc... it is advisable that 

you consider one of the Low-end systems. These systems are very easy to operate and give 

excellent results. Adjusting 'pulse duration' or 'pulse frequency' to the desired levels will be very 

easy. You will only need to set the power output at a level which is comfortable and effective. 

Should you discover in the future that your preference is for a more powerful system, we will gladly 

exchange your previous machine for a new one. We offer a lifetime trade-in for any system in our 

line. At Medicam, we genuinely want to match each and every customer with the perfect system 

for their individual requirements. Please inquire for upgrade conditions. 

How Fast Do You Want To Treat? 

You will want to go with a larger beam size if you are working on large areas (to increase 

efficiency). The MD-50 or MD-100 Diode laser systems are perfectly suited for rapid and efficient 

permanent laser hair removal and can clear a woman's leg or a man's back in just about 2 hours. If 

you are looking for more than Permanent hair removal treatments, you should look for an IPL 

system. Please inquire or call us and we will gladly help you. 

The DM-15 and DM-20 require a little more time into the treatment to clear large areas but are 

best suited for limited areas such as the bikini line or face, half legs. 

How Much Power Do You Need? 

The general rule of thumb is 40jcm2 maximum for a real efficient level. 

In general, people are not informed regarding the power needed to perform an efficient laser hair 

removal. Some will ask how many watts does a machine develop when the right question and the 

only one should be what the wavelength and the beam size are. Working at 808nm will do the job 

but an output beam under 1.5mm will be too small. Beware of sellers saying that their machine 

gives you a 1cm treatment output beam! these machines have a 1cm laser head with 1-2 or 3 pin 

point output beam. The reality is that it remains a "hair by hair" treatment with very low efficiency 

and that requires a lot of patience. Just think that a Lumenis Lightsheer, a machine over 

USD$70,000.00 has a 9mm output beam, that an F1 at USD$60,000.00 has a 5mm output beam 

and both are considered to be two of the best and most powerful machines on the market. Serious 

companies offer only one output with a wider beam. We offer: 1.5mm, 1.8mm, 2.8mm and 4mm 

real output beams. Our IPL systems give you a 1cm X 4cm output beam. Each professional unit 

should include an EMERGENCY STOP. Most sellers will give you the specification of their laser units 

but will never provide you with the real output power of the beam once it reaches your skin. 

Some will also tell you that a certain unit will do multiple jobs but you know for a fact that no unit 

can do a perfect job for multiple types of treatments. Each laser is engineered for a specific 

purpose, therefore to do tattoo removal, inquire for a tattoo removal Yag laser, for laser hair 

removal, ask either for an IPL or a diode laser, for skin rejuvenation and other skin applications as 

well as laser hair removal, get an IPL since IPL systems have a user replaceable crystal which 

works at different wavelengths (nm) for each specific application.

IPL : WHAT IS INTENSE PULSED LIGHT HAIR REMOVAL? 

Intense pulsed light hair removal is a new and advanced, long-term hair removal method. A client sits or 

lies in a comfortable position, and then a technician glides a wand-like tool, or handpiece, over his or her 

skin. The handpiece emits a beam of specially filtered light, which is absorbed by the hair and converted 

to heat. This heat disintegrates the hair and disables the hair follicle. 

What is Intense Pulsed Light Hair Removal? 

Intense pulsed light hair removal is a new and advanced, long-term hair removal method. A client sits or 

lies in a comfortable position, and then a technician glides a wand-like tool, or handpiece, over his or her 

skin. The handpiece emits a beam of specially filtered light, which is absorbed by the hair and converted 

to heat. This heat disintegrates the hair and disables the hair follicle. 

Is the treatment safe? 

Yes, it is very safe. Some people may experience mild reddening of the treatment area for a day or so 

after treatment, but other complications are rare. The Intense Pulsed Light system delivers energy to the 

skin very gently. Plus, the handpiece extracts heat from the skin during each pulse of light for maximum 

protection. 

How long does it take? 

Treatments are extremely fast, over twice as fast as waxing. A pair of legs or a man’s back can be treated 

in less than ten to twenty minutes. Smaller areas, such as the face or back of the neck, can be done in less 

than a minute. 

Does it hurt? 

No. The light is selectively absorbed by the hair and hair follicles. The skin itself is exposed to little heat. 

Plus, no irritating chemicals are used, and the hairs aren’t pulled on in any way. 

How long does the hair stay gone? 

Hair may never return at all. The exact amount of time that the hair stays gone depends on the area being 

treated, the settings selected by the technician, and individual hair and skin factors. Depending on the 

settings used by the technician in accordance with the patient request, hair removal may either be 

permanent or for a certain period of time (4-5-6 months)

What body areas can be treated? 

Almost any area of the body can be treated: the legs, back, upper lip, chin, underarms, back of the neck, 

bikini line, etc. 

Do I have to let may hair grow out to a certain length before I can get treated? 

Not at all! With intense pulsed light treatments there’s no need to let hair grow out before you remove it. 

Light penetrates beneath the skin to reach the hair follicles. If you wish, you can get treated at regular 

intervals so that you skin remains virtually hair free all the time.

I have thick coarse hair on my chin that I want to get rid off….How? 

Nothing is more embarrassing than facial hair, but unfortunately it is a very common problem. The 

quickest and most effective method to get rid of hair is to use Intense Pulsed Light. This involves a handpiece 

placed on the skin and a bright flash of broad-spectrum light is emitted. The wavelengths chosen 

are easily absorbed by melanin, which is the color in the hair. The light is transmitted through skin tissue, 

and is absorbed by the root of the hair within the skin. Heat is produced which radiates out into the 

follicle wall destroying the cells so hair re-growth is impeded. Only a few treatments, at monthly 

intervals usually are needed to obtain stunning results. It is very quick, virtually painless and no redness

I have some unsightly sunspots on my hands. What can I do about them? 

This is where Intense Pulsed Light systems are superior to lasers, as they can offer more than one type of 

treatment. Intense Pulsed Light utilizes a range of wave lengths [laser has only a single wavelength], 

which enables it to respond to hair color, small red blood vessels and pigmentation irregularities in the 

skin due to sun damage. The hand piece is placed on the skin over the sunspots or other pigmentation and 

a bright flash of light is released. This light is absorbed by the pigmented area, which will go even darker 

over the next few hours. The area will look a bit “dirty” or dark for about a week, then it will slough off

I have been shaving my underarms every few days for years. The hairs are thick, coarse and 

constantly growing back. What other alternatives do I have? 

There are various other temporary alternatives, like waxing, plucking and depilatory creams, but they are

Is Laser Hair Removal Painful?

Appearance of the Skin Following Treatment 

Immediately following treatment, the site will be somewhat swollen, appear slightly red in color, and may feel 

like a mild sunburn. This reaction subsides over a few hours and then the treated areas usually return to 

their normal appearance. The amount of discomfort following a treatment is usually minimal and does not 

limit most physical activities. 

Length of Procedure 

Each pulse of laser energy will treat a round area of skin approximately 4-5mm. For this reason, the amount 

of time required depends on the size of the area to be treated. For example, the upper lip and bikini line 

may require only five to fifteen minutes of treatment, while a longer period of time will be required to treat the 

back or legs.

Number of Treatments Required 

Since each person has a different amount of hair follicles and different types of hair, the amount of 

treatments needed per area varies. Typically, three to five treatments are needed to achieve a satisfactory 

result. 

Also, laser hair removal works only on those hair follicles that are in a growth stage. Typically, 80 – 85% of 

a person’s hair follicles are in a growth stage at any given time. After initial treatment of an area, hairs that 

grow back are usually in the early stages of growth, which makes them most vulnerable to laser treatment. 

For this reason, any necessary follow-up treatments should be performed as soon as possible after the hairs 

begin to regrow. 

Is Diode Laser Hair Removal Safe? 

As with any medical treatment, use of a laser for hair removal can have some side effects. However, side 

effects have been minor and manageable. The precise laser parameters used have been carefully defined 

by the study of hair follicle anatomy and the precise matching of pulse duration to the size, depth, and 

location of the follicle. 

Is Laser Hair Removal Right for Me? 

Although laser hair removal is an option for almost everyone, there are some conditions that might make 

such treatment undesirable. For example, laser hair removal is ineffective for white or very light blonde 

hairs. Therefore, each patient is required to schedule a consultation so that their skin and medical history

Medicam Inc. offers a 12 months warranty parts and labor. Warranty will be void for any misuse, abuse or damage done to the unit or any of its 

components. Consumables are not guaranteed and have a limited life. Any client and/or distributor over using the consumables and not respecting the 

replacement time of such devices will see its warranty cancelled. Water has to be added or changed to any unit on a regular basis. Not doing so will also 

void the warranty. Handpieces or crystals are NEVER under warranty. 

Extended warranty (2 nd and 3 rd year) for clients and/or distributors who have acquired such additional coverage will be limited only to major parts: Light 

source, power supply and water tank. Screen control panel, hand piece, switches, water caps, etc..may have to be replaced after a period of time due to 

the permanent use. Customer should be sending the unit back to Medicam (at the customer’s expenses and shipping back pre-paid by the customer 

insured, by express delivery and with a tracking number) for a period of 1 week (7 OPEN DAYS) for full cleaning and check up once in the 1st year and 

twice any subsequent year. 

Any extended warranty has to be purchased before the 1 st day of the 10 th month following the acquisition of the unit. An invoice will be sent to all 

customers for service renewal at the 9 th month. All customers HAVE TO send by fax a meter reading of their unit each last day of the month to keep the 

warranty active. 

Any overused unit should be upgraded to a higher model to avoid cancellation of the warranty. 

To arrange for the return of your equipment, simply request a Return Materials Authorization number by faxing a copy of your invoice to 1-514-737-0931 

or emailing at service@medicam.ca. Failure to submit the invoice may result in unnecessary delays. Please include a fax number so we may fax your 

approved return number, packaging instructions, and return address. If a fax number is not available, please supply us with your email address. 

Exchanges (EX-RMA’s) and Warranty Repair (WR-RMA’s) may be applied for by email at service@medicam.ca or by fax at 514-737-0931. For the 

protection of Medicam Inc, subsidiaries or affiliates, as well as the customer, full packaging instructions and correct RMA procedures must be provided 

and complied with to avoid damage to merchandise by improper packing. At no time and under no circumstances, a customer will be eligible for a full or 

partial refund. Any unit has to be sent back in its original packaging for repair. 

1. Customer is required to apply for a RMA number (Returned Material Authorization), which will be issued at Medicam’s sole discretion. 2. For any 

defective unit delivered, all items must be accompanied by the original invoice and a clear description of the problem. 3. Claims must be made maximum 

5 days following delivery. 4. Restocking fees up to 50% may apply to items, which are used, abused, missing, damaged, or otherwise incomplete. If 

returned products are claimed to be defective, a complete written description of the nature of the defect must accompany all returned products. Items not 

eligible for return or sent back by the customer without an RMA number will be returned to customer, transportation collect and not accepted by 

Medicam at the sole risk of the customer. Shipping is not refundable. Exceptions to RMA program such as Opened/Used Hand Pieces, Crystals, etc…: 

may not be returned, by law. Items will be repaired or replaced in accordance to manufacturer’s warranties. Before connecting the hand piece, activating 

the unit, adding water, unwrapping the crystals, etc…, we suggest that you check the shipping container and packing list to verify that you have received 

exactly what you ordered. Special Order Items: may not be returned (includes items that were modified, customized, or changed while in the custody of 

the customer). Textbooks/Instruction Literature, Operation Manual: may also be returned. Expired/Discontinued Items: may not be returned (articles 

which cannot be returned to the manufacturer). 

All units have to be protected with a proper power surge device and a spike suppressor and never be plugged directly in the wall outlet in 

order to protect the electronic components from electrical intensity variations. All requirements from Medicam Inc or any of its distributors or 

subsidiaries have to be respected. Please check all requirements in the user manual. Non respect of any clauseof the requirements will void 

the warranty at the sole responsibility of the client. 

Medicam Inc warrants the customer that products purchased hereunder will conform to the applicable manufacturer’s specifications for such products. 

The Client or Distributor shall comply with all Applicable Laws existing in the Territory from time to time concerning the Products and shall keep Supplier 

informed of any relevant changes therein. In particular but without limitation Distributor / Customer (i) shall at its own expense obtain all necessary 

permissions, consents and licenses to enable client or Distributor to market, sell, buy or use the Products in the Territory; (ii) shall obtain any other 

governmental or other permission, consent or license or make any registration necessary for the full and legal operation and performance of this 

Contract; (iii) shall be responsible for the management of the importation of the Products into the Territory in compliance with Applicable Laws and the 

payment of all applicable import duties, taxes and other charges, and shall promptly upon Supplier's request provide to Supplier copies of all documents 

evidencing the same. Client or Distributor acknowledges 

and confirms they have verified that the Products acquired comply with all Applicable Laws existing in its Territory or in any territory the client or 

distributor shall sell, rent or use the equipments. The Distributor / Customer confirms that all applicable laws and regulations , including specific custom 

requirements or taxes in his country and including any other additional expenses, fees or any documentation have been checked prior to purchase. 

Any value-added performed by Medicam Inc. on its products will conform to applicable customer’s specifications relation to such work. Medicam Inc. 

offers no other warranty, express or implied, with respect to the product. In particular, Medicam Inc. offers no warranty respecting the merchantability of 

the product or their suitability or fitness for any particular purpose or use or respecting infringement. However, Medicam Inc. will transfer to customer 

whatever transferable warranties and indemnities. Medicam Inc receives from the manufacturer of the product. With respect to value-added work by 

Medicam Inc. which does not meet customer’s specifications. Medicam Inc. liability is limited (at Medicam Inc. election) to (1) refund of customer’s 

purchase price for such products without interest less transportation fees, (2) repair of such products, or (3) replacement of such product; provided, 

however, that such product must be returned to Medicam Inc. (at Medicam Inc. election), along with acceptable evidence of purchase, within ten (10) 

days from date of delivery, all transportation charges prepaid by Customer. Customer shall not in any event be entitled to, and Medicam Inc. shall not be 

liable for indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages of any nature including, without being limited to, loss of profit, promotional or 

manufacturing expenses, overhead, injury to reputation or loss of customers. Customer’s recovery from Medicam Inc. for any claim shall not exceed 

customer’s purchase price for the products irrespective of the nature of the claim whether in contract, tort, warranty, or otherwise.

Customer’s Satisfaction, Warranty and Liability for Customers and Distributors 

It is the express wish of the Customer and Medicam Inc. that this Agreement and any related documents are drawn up in the English language. Le Client et Medicam Inc.

will offer you an exchange in the first 10 days. If you are willing to upgrade your equipment in the first 60 days following delivery of your equipment, we will charge you only for the 

difference in price between your equipment and the new one at the suggested retail price plus shipping and handling fees. We will give you the opportunity to upgrade your 

equipment between 61 and 180 days after delivery of the equipment by giving you a credit corresponding to 50% of your original purchase price less delivery fees for a brand new

Distributor to market, sell, buy or use the Products in the Territory; (ii) shall obtain any other governmental or other permission, consent or license or make any registration 

necessary for the full and legal operation and performance of this Contract; (iii) shall be responsible for the management of the importation of the Products into the Territory in 

compliance with Applicable Laws and the payment of all applicable import duties, taxes and other charges, and shall promptly upon Supplier's request provide to Supplier copies of 

all documents evidencing the same. Client or Distributor acknowledges and confirms they have verified that the Products acquired comply with all Applicable Laws existing in its 

Territory or in any territory the client or distributor shall sell, rent or use the equipments. The Distributor / Customer confirms that all applicable laws and regulations , including

customers. Customer’s recovery from Medicam Inc. for any claim shall not exceed customer’s purchase price for the products irrespective of the nature of the claim whether in 

contract, tort, warranty, or otherwise. 

Payment and Delivery Terms. 

We accept payment by certified checks, Bank money order, International postal money order, and wire transfer. If Payment is made from a foreign country, customer may inquire 

for the applicable rate to convert currency in Dollars. Exchange may not be daily rate since Medicam Inc. is not manufacturing its inventory at the time of the current order. Total 

amount to be paid in full unless agreed and mentioned on the terms of the contract. A $35.00 return check fee applies to all non-collectible checks. Medicam Inc. reserves the right 

to electronically retrieve NSF, Stop Pays, and other non-collectible funds from your account. Shortages surcharge apply, except when special services are requested. Puerto Rico 

imposes a 6.6% excise tax, which is not collected by Medicam Inc. Alaska; Hawaii & Pacific Islands customers are responsible for any applicable taxes. International customers 

are responsible for applicable duties and/or taxes in their country. 

Delivery and Title 

Medicam Inc. will make reasonable efforts to initiate shipment and schedule delivery as close as possible to customer’s request delivery date(s). Customer acknowledges that 

delivery dates provided by Medicam are estimates only and that Medicam Inc will not be liable for failure to deliver on such dates and time. We may make selection of the carrier 

and delivery route unless specifically designated in writing by the customer. The customer in addition to the purchase of the product shall pay all transportation charges from 

Medicam Inc Shipping premises. Subject to our right of stoppage in transit, delivery to a carrier will constitute delivery to customer, and risk of loss will thereupon pass to the 

customer; however, title shall remain in Medicam Inc until the customer makes payment in full for the product. Products invoiced and held by Medicam at customer’s request will 

be held at customer’s risk and expense. Delivery of any installment of product within sixty (60) days after the date requested and order confirmed will constitute a timely delivery. 

Delivery of a quantity which does not vary by more than ten percent (10%) from the ordered quantity will constitute full performance of such delivery. Delay in delivery of one 

installment will not entitle customer to cancel that installment. Customer is responsible for all imports taxes, tariffs, levies, or fees. 

Statements and Advice 

If statements or advice, technical or otherwise, is offered or given to customer, such statement or advice will be deemed to be given as an accommodation to customer and without 

charge and Medicam Inc. will have no responsibilities or liabilities whatsoever for the content or use of such statements or advice. 

Force Majeure 

Medicam Inc. will not be liable for delays in delivery or for failure to perform its obligation due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including, but not limited to, product 

allocations, material shortages, labor disputes, transportation delays, unforeseen circumstances, acts of God, acts or omissions of other parties, acts or omissions of civil or 

military authorities, government priorities, fire, strikes, floods, epidemics, quarantines restrictions, riots, or war. Medicam Inc. time for delivery or performance will be extended by 

the period of such delay or Medicam Inc. may, at its option, cancel any order or remaining part thereof without liability by giving notice to customer. Discounted equipment or on 

sale usually generates a very high volume of sales and may cause a delivery delay. A delivery within Sixty (60) days after payment will constitute a timely delivery. 

General 

The terms and conditions may not be modified or cancelled without Medicam Inc. written agreement. The sale of products hereunder will be governed by the terms and conditions, 

notwithstanding contrary or additional terms and conditions in any purchase, planning schedule, acknowledgement, confirmation or any other form or document issued by either 

party effecting the purchase and/or sale of products.

Medicam Inc. will make reasonable efforts to initiate shipment and schedule delivery as close as possible to customer’s request delivery date(s). Customer acknowledges that 

delivery dates provided by Medicam are estimates only and that Medicam Inc will not be liable for failure to deliver on such dates and time. We may make selection of the carrier 

and delivery route unless specifically designated in writing by the customer. The customer in addition to the purchase of the product shall pay all transportation charges from 

Medicam Inc Shipping premises. Subject to our right of stoppage in transit, delivery to a carrier will constitute delivery to customer, and risk of loss will thereupon pass to the 

customer; however, title shall remain in Medicam Inc until the customer makes payment in full for the product. Products invoiced and held by Medicam at customer’s request will 

be held at customer’s risk and expense. Delivery of any installment of product within sixty (60) days after the date requested and order confirmed will constitute a timely delivery. 

Delivery of a quantity which does not vary by more than ten percent (10%) from the ordered quantity will constitute full performance of such delivery. Delay in delivery of one 

installment will not entitle customer to cancel that installment. Customer is responsible for all imports taxes, tariffs, levies, or fees. 

Statements and Advice 

If statements or advice, technical or otherwise, is offered or given to customer, such statement or advice will be deemed to be given as an accommodation to customer and without 

charge and Medicam Inc. will have no responsibilities or liabilities whatsoever for the content or use of such statements or advice. 

Force Majeure 

Medicam Inc. will not be liable for delays in delivery or for failure to perform its obligation due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including, but not limited to, product 

allocations, material shortages, labor disputes, transportation delays, unforeseen circumstances, acts of God, acts or omissions of other parties, acts or omissions of civil or 

military authorities, government priorities, fire, strikes, floods, epidemics, quarantines restrictions, riots, or war. Medicam Inc. time for delivery or performance will be extended by 

the period of such delay or Medicam Inc. may, at its option, cancel any order or remaining part thereof without liability by giving notice to customer. Discounted equipment or on 

sale usually generates a very high volume of sales and may cause a delivery delay. A delivery within Sixty (60) days after payment will constitute a timely delivery. 

General 

The terms and conditions may not be modified or cancelled without Medicam Inc. written agreement. The sale of products hereunder will be governed by the terms and conditions, 

notwithstanding contrary or additional terms and conditions in any purchase, planning schedule, acknowledgement, confirmation or any other form or document issued by either 

party effecting the purchase and/or sale of products. 

Importation of products into any jurisdiction where such products are restricted or regulated is done at the risk of the customer. Customer is responsible to adhere to all local 

regulations regarding the purchase, use or possession of products and to hold harmless Medicam Inc.for any damages (incidental or otherwise) arising from the importation, 

possession or use of products/information available on this web site. 

Proprietary Rights in Content on site. Medicam Inc.owns and retains all proprietary rights in this site which contains copyrighted material, trademarks, and other proprietary 

information of Medicam Inc., and its licensors. No portion of this web site is in the public domain and you may not copy, modify, publish, transmit, distribute, perform, display, or sell
