This 2013 T. A. Seeds Product Guide is dedicated to my
T.A. Doebler Family Heritage. (Family Heritage is one thing you
truly own.) From all the great people I have met who tell me
stories of meetings with my grandfather, T.A. Doebler, Sr., (a
people person), and my father, T.A. “Ted” Doebler, Jr., (a great
production manager, with an extensive knowledge of hybrids),
it gives me great pride to be a III Generation Farmer and
Seedsman. Ted Doebler, Jr. and T.A. Doebler, Sr. were very
different people, having unique skills that together with my
grandmother, Hazel Doebler, (the business manager), produced
the best product for the Eastern farmer. I am fortunate to have
learned from these people. Now that we have crossed the
80 Year Threshold, I look forward to working beside a talented
team of people - developed over 20 or more years and considered
“my family”. Together we will continue to produce the best
hybrids for the Eastern farmer.

Dear Friends and Neighbors,
T.A. Seeds is Celebrating 80 Years of Harvest!
It was 80 years ago my grandfather, T. A. Doebler, Sr., harvested the first crop
of hybrid seed corn. Our motto has always been “We Are Farmers First! ® ” to
our customers. We know what your challenges are in the east, as we grow
your seed corn in the same soil and climate. These last two years have
really tested our products and your resilience. Can Mother Nature throw
any more at us? Of course she can! We will be grateful for what we have
and at T.A. Seeds we will prepare for more extreme growing conditions.
We will continue to search for better genetics and helpful traits that yield in
the best and the worst conditions; to focus on improving your bottom line
from prior years’ harvests.
At T.A. Seeds we are very thankful for your belief in our products for the
past III Generations. We celebrate with great pride the dedication of the
farmer and the family. Our family has made significant gains in our production
techniques over the past few years. Even with the tough weather in 2011,
our first harvest of our No-Till planting of seed corn was successful.
Changing our planting procedures to No-Till was the right thing to do to
limit soil erosion, and we are excited to be the leader, as one of the only
seed producers in the country implementing the No-Till concept.
Even though our No-Till plantings were successful we had challenges
throughout the growing season with drought and extreme high temperatures
resulting in lower yields. We were very progressive in letting everyone
know immediately after our harvest in 2011, that seed availability was going
to be limited. We believed that communicating the seed shortage early
would benefit everyone and we were correct. At the end of planting season,
our T.A. Seeds’ dealers were able to supply our farmers with the seed they
needed. This confirmed that even in tough times you can count on us for
your farm’s seed and rely on us for our honesty.
Our new state-of-the-art horizontal seed processing facility and optical color
sorter has performed above our expectations. This one-of-a-kind system has
preserved the integrity of the germ inside the kernel and we thank you for
noticing the higher seed quality these past two years.
Where do we go in the future? At T.A. Seeds we keep the integrity of the
past, the success of the present, and seek ways to grow to a better place in
the future. Yes, we have grown to be a proven seed company, rising above
the competition, a leader in the independent seed industry. More importantly,
we have your confidence that you — the eastern farmer — can successfully
rely on us. Our products beat the national competition in field trials we
enter, but most importantly they yield in your fields consistently.
We are your advocate for a successful harvest in 2012 and planting in 2013
— no matter what the weather. The introduction of 24 NEW Genetic Brands
with Multiple Trait Variations in this 2013 T.A. Seeds’ Product Guide is
exciting and should take your farm to the next level of success.
I dedicate this year of harvest to the hard work and passion of my family for
the past 80 years. We at T.A. Seeds THANK YOU for being part of our lives
and the opportunity to make your farming experience better than the past.
