I John 2: 15 - 16 NKJV
15 Do not love the world or the
things in the world. If anyone loves
the world, the love of the Father is
not in him.
16 For all that is in the world - the
lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes,
and the pride of life - is not of the
Father but is of the world.

•The enemy uses these three things: lust of
the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life
to entice us to sin.
•We must do everything in our power with
the help of God not to become victims but
over comers.
•Over the next three weeks, we will look at
these three temptations starting tonight
with lust of the flesh.

•Your flesh is in an all out war against your
spirit.

attack.

Romans 7:18 NKJV
For I know that in me (that is, in my
flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for
to will is present with me; but how
to perform that which is good I find
not.

Galatians 5: 17, 19-21 NKJV
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the
Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one
to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye
would.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are
these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations,
wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and
such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also
told you in time past, that they which do such things
shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

•In this cataclysmic war, one of two
things is going to happen:
(1) your flesh will win and you will
eventually find yourself looking in
the mirror of life with deep regret, or
(2) you will rise up with the Sword
of the Spirit and make your flesh
obey you!!!

I. Separate From All Bad Influences
Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good
habits.” I Corinthians 15:33
• There are certain individuals who, simply put, are
bad influences. They will inspire you to sin.
• If they are attempting to pull, steer, lead, seduce
or coerce you away from the will of God, you CUT
THEM LOOSE!
• Don’t give place to the devil!

II. Take Authority Over Your Mind
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to
the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but
mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down
arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the
knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the
obedience of Christ, II Corinthians 10:3-5
• When fantasies, daydreams and unrighteous thoughts
attempt to infiltrate and dominate your mind, you must cast
down those imaginations immediately.
• If you let them germinate, take root and spring up, they will
become a fierce overbearing stronghold!
• One of the primary reasons people struggle with addictions
and sexual sins is that they fail or refuse to take authority
over their mind.

III. Surround Yourself With People Who
Motivate You To Do Better
As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his
friend. Proverbs 27:17
• You must examine the people you associate with and
befriend.
• Are they sharpening or dulling your spiritual armor? Are they
a spiritual ball and chain? If so, you’ll need to sever ties.
• Carnal, lukewarm and cold Christians will impede your ability
to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit and weaken your spiritual
effectiveness.
• You must surround yourself with individuals who sharpen
you spiritually and hold you accountable.
