Baroque Rocks!

project 2013
Baroque Rocks!
Again this year the GEDOK Stuttgart eV, community of artists
and art patrons, are supporting exciting music projects for children
and young people. Under the motto: 'Baroque Rocks', youngsters
will meet, rehearse and perform ambitious classical baroque
pieces. Practice sessions and concerts will be held during
the Easter holidays and weekends.
The group Die Telemänner Internationales Kinder- und Jugend-
Barockorchestra; named after Georg Philipp Telemann
(1681 – 1767) the celebrated German, baroque composer, annually
welcomes young people between the age of 11 to 17 years old
to become members. Here, children can join the ensemble to
discover a new musical passion, with the Telemänner soloists.
Founded in 2012, the ensemble is comprised of young adults,
students of music; a number being rather advanced. If you are
younger, we gladly welcome juniors too; to our 'Mini' ensemble.
‘The Telemänner’ employ baroque bows, presented free of charge
upon membership. Pianists have the opportunity to play spinet;
a replica instrument from the 16th century, the Elizabethan era; a
period inspired by classical ideals. Correspondingly, we trace
and explore, the sound of the baroque.
What with opportunities to perform in impressive surroundings;
such as, Peter- und Paulskirche Köngen, Schloss Schwetzingen
and Schloss Ludwigsburg: we offer our students exceptional
concert experience. So, be there! - Baroque rocks!
