Conditions Conditions for for participation
participation
Entitled for participation are all children and youths up to 18 years, who are born on or after the 1st of
January 1994 and who aren’t in the status of a professional musician in business.
1. Age Age groups

The scores will be announced in the following age groups:
Age group I
Participants up to 8 years, born 2004 and later
Age group II
Participants from 9 to 10 years, born 2002 and 2003
Age group III
Participants from 11 to 12 years, born 2000 and 2001
Age group IV
Participants from 13 to 14 years, born 1998 and 1999
Age group V
Participants from 15 to 16 years, born 1996 and 1997
Age group VI
Participants from 17 to 18 years, born 1994 and 1995
Target date for calculating the age is the 1st

Applications for piano solo are accepted only:

Within a time from 6 to 10 minutes at least
two original works (also single sets), i.e.
- one work of the music of the 20th or 21st century
- one work of the music of another epoch
- (Renaissance, Baroque, Classic, Romantic including Impressionism)

Within a time from 10 to 15 minutes at least two original works (also single sets), i.e.
- one work of the music of the 20th or 21st century
- one work of the music of another epoch (Renaissance, Baroque, Classic, Romantic including
Impressionism)
In n the the age age groups groups V V and and VI
VI
Within a time from 15 to 20 minutes at least
three original works (also single sets), i.e.
- one work of the music of the 20th or 21st century (except Impressionism)
- the remaining program of other but different epochs
In In the the age age groups groups III III to to VI
VI
One of the works must be polyphone. The program must include both fast and slow sets. It is
recommended to play only musical works which correspond to the ability, the age and the mental
apprehension of the participants. The musical and instrumental overall performance will be evaluated.
The jury will apply the 25- points-system.

The succession of the arrival is decisive for the participation. The date of the postmark or of the server
is valid.
The competition will take place in the GROTRIAN factory at Grotrian-Steinweg-Str. 2, in 38112
Braunschweig-Veltenhof, from January 11th to 13th, 2013. Detailed invitations for the recital will be
sent out in the mid of December.
The competition is open for the public. The final concert will take place on Sunday,
January 13, 2013, at 6 pm in the State Theatre of Braunschweig.
4. 4. Distinctions Distinctions and and Diploma
Diploma
Every participant will receive a diploma. First, second and third places will be honoured with a prize,
first prize winners will participate in the final concert.
For outstanding performances the Annemarie Wille prize as well as other special prizes and
advancement awards can be awarded.
5. Jury
Jury
The jury must consist of at least 3 members. The decisions of the jury are unappeasable, the course of
law is excluded.
