We are pleased to invite the global noise protection and soundproofing community to attend the<br />

19 th Annual International Conference on Traffic Noise.<br />

It will again bring together industry experts and highest level executives from every infrastructure<br />

to provide a <strong>for</strong>um <strong>for</strong> an interdisciplinary and international exchange to share experiences<br />

and solutions on existing and future approaches towards noise abatement.<br />

The 19 th Annual International Conference on Traffic Noise focuses on all the key noise issues<br />

including e.g.<br />

Conception, planning and implementation of large-scale noise reduction programs<br />

Public awareness and communication with parties concerned in surrounding areas<br />

(Airports, marinas, etc.)<br />

The impact of traffic noise on humans and marine mammals<br />

Legal issues of traffic noise<br />

The application of photovoltaic elements at noise barriers<br />

Innovative ef<strong>for</strong>ts towards passive noise protection (windows, roofs, noise-insulated ventilators)<br />

New ideas in the design, manufacture, application and operation of noise barriers<br />

Measures <strong>for</strong> noise reduction at its source (vehicle, vessel, driveway, etc.)<br />

Major noise protection projects to be privately funded.<br />

Introduction of state-of-the-art soundproofing technologies as well as<br />

Country specific noise control procedures/programmes<br />

<strong>Papers</strong> that focus on the described topics are very welcome. We are looking <strong>for</strong>ward to receiving<br />

inspiring suggestions addressed to us regarding possible workshop topics and plenary<br />

papers to create an interesting conference program.<br />

The Hamann Consult <strong>AG</strong> represents a German engineering company that has been dealing with all<br />

aspects of traffic noise mitigation <strong>for</strong> 20 years, serving both national and international clients.<br />

Since 1992 and taking place every October, we have organised an annual meeting of leading scientists,<br />

researchers and practitioners from industry, administration and politics involved in noise<br />

prevention and innovative approaches of combating noise.<br />

Being a plat<strong>for</strong>m <strong>for</strong> the exchange of experiences among decision-makers across the various<br />

disciplines of road, rail, sea and air transport, this conference aims at developing more effective<br />

strategies <strong>for</strong> the protection of the population and the entire environment from traffic noise and<br />

at implementing them as swiftly as possible.<br />
