THE WINNING NUMBER FOR THE TEDDY BEAR<br />

RAFFLE is 375 on a fawn-coloured ticket (serial<br />

number A383PH4T). The prize may be claimed<br />

from <strong>the</strong> Ca<strong>the</strong>dral sacristy on production <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

winning ticket. Thanks to all concerned. The<br />

raffle raised £170.02, which toge<strong>the</strong>r with <strong>the</strong><br />

£511.86 taken at <strong>the</strong> Carol Service, have been<br />

added to <strong>the</strong> Choir Endowment Fund, <strong>the</strong> income<br />

from which helps to support singing in <strong>the</strong><br />

Ca<strong>the</strong>dral.<br />

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2013 If your<br />

child is in year 3 or above at school, and you attend<br />

Mass at <strong>the</strong> Ca<strong>the</strong>dral, and he/she is ready to join<br />

<strong>the</strong> preparation class, <strong>the</strong>n please ask for an<br />

application form in <strong>the</strong> sacristy after Mass. Those<br />

who are being prepared in our Primary School, will<br />

be formally presented at <strong>the</strong> 10.30am Mass today.<br />

THIS YEAR’S CRIB OFFERINGS<br />

A KNITTING GROUP will meet in <strong>the</strong> Holy Rosary<br />

Community Room from 11.30 am - 1.30 pm on<br />

Saturday 5th January. No experience necessary,<br />

beginners welcome. Bring along any existing projects<br />

you may have. Alternatively, patterns, wool and<br />

knitting needles will be available if necessary, for a<br />

small donation.<br />

PREPARATION FOR BAPTISM FOR CHILDREN OF<br />

CATECHETICAL AGE for children <strong>of</strong> catechetical age<br />

(7 years and above). A course <strong>of</strong> preparation will run<br />

on Saturday mornings from 10.30am, beginning on<br />

12th January 2013 at <strong>the</strong> Holy Rosary. For more<br />

information please speak to one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> clergy.<br />

STARTING in January 2013, a two-session Baptism<br />

preparation course will take place at various intervals<br />

throughout <strong>the</strong> year for those families who wish to<br />

have <strong>the</strong>ir child baptised in <strong>the</strong> Parish. The purpose <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> course is to catechise <strong>the</strong> parents and so better<br />

prepare <strong>the</strong>m for <strong>the</strong> responsibilities <strong>the</strong>y undertake in<br />

having a child baptised. For details <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> course and<br />

application forms, please ask in <strong>the</strong> sacristy.<br />

THERE’LL BE A PARTY in Ca<strong>the</strong>dral House for all<br />

who help with <strong>the</strong> life, work and worship <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

parish, on Sunday 6th January after <strong>the</strong> evening Mass,<br />

around 7.00pm. Please collect a form from <strong>the</strong> sacristy<br />

and return <strong>the</strong> lower portion, as soon as possible, so<br />

that we can gauge numbers.<br />

CATHEDRAL LECTURES 2012 The next<br />

lecture is on Wednesday, 9th January 2013 in<br />

Wheeler Hall at 7.00pm. The Speaker is Donal<br />

Foley and <strong>the</strong> title <strong>of</strong> his talk is “Marian<br />

apparitions through history and <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

Significance for Today”. All welcome.<br />

THE ROSES & WINE RAFFLE at Holy Rosary raised<br />

£131 to purchase a new crucifix for <strong>the</strong> primary school.<br />

Winning numbers (prizes 1 – 10): 487, 14, 441, 391,<br />

412, 364, 292, 700, 50 & 270. Prizes may be<br />

collected after 10.30am Mass today. Many thanks to<br />

those who organised and supported this.<br />

LEEDS PEOPLE FOR LIFE meet on <strong>the</strong> first Saturday <strong>of</strong><br />
