3 Definitions and abbreviations<br />
3.1 Definitions<br />
For the purposes of the present document, the following terms and definitions apply:<br />
authority: for organization that creates CRIDs<br />
NOTE 1: Term used in <strong>TS</strong> <strong>102</strong> 822-4 [6].<br />
NOTE 2: In the present document the term CRID authority is used instead.<br />
broadcaster (service provider): organization which assembles a sequence of events or programmes to be delivered to<br />
the viewer based upon a schedule<br />
broadcast time: time and date on which an event is actually broadcast<br />
NOTE: For example, a news programme may actually start at 18:04:38.21. See also published time and scheduled<br />
time.<br />
broadcast timeline: stream of data which conveys a metadata content timeline during the broadcast of an item of<br />
content<br />
NOTE: See <strong>TS</strong> <strong>102</strong> 823 [21], annex A.<br />
complete set of CRI data: single set of CRI data that carries all CRI data available for a CRID authority<br />
NOTE: See also set of CRI data.<br />
context: grouping of resolution providers for the purposes of managing the discovery of TV-Anytime information. A<br />
context could relate to a particular bouquet for which CRI is provided, or a network, etc.<br />
CRID authority: organization that creates CRIDs<br />
NOTE: This is termed in <strong>TS</strong> <strong>102</strong> 822-4 [6] as simply an authority.<br />
CRID resolution: location resolution<br />
CRID result: (possibly empty) set of locators or CRIDs that a CRID resolves to<br />
CRI service: coherent set of CRI data provided by a resolution provider and describing one or more CRID authorities<br />
group CRID: CRID that resolves into other CRIDs, not locators<br />
leaf CRID: CRID that resolves into locators, not other CRIDs<br />
location resolution: process for establishing the address (location and time) of content instance(s) from a CRID<br />
NOTE: Sometimes termed "CRID resolution".<br />
locator: URI reference to the location of content<br />
NOTE: A locator can reference a file on the internet, an event on a <strong>DVB</strong> network, etc. For broadcast content a<br />
locator would include <strong>DVB</strong> service, date and time information.
