ENTRANCE RITE 

Jasmine: Christ said, “When two are gathered in my name, I shall be 

there.” These words of the Lord are most deeply felt and 

revered on special occasions such as this. 

Bridal Procession 

We are gathered this afternoon with much rejoicing and 

thanksgiving to witness Aldous & Lhen pledge their love and 

commitment to each other before God and His people. 

As they enter this phase in their lives, we are invited to lift them 

up to the Lord daily, that each day may be full of experiences of 

faithfulness, hope and love. 

Let us all stand. 

Jasmine: As we begin the Eucharistic Celebration and Nuptial Rites for 

Aldous and Lhen, we remember with fondness our dearly 

departed loved ones, most especially Jay and Alice Sanga, 

Aldous’ parents, who may not be with us today but are blessing 

Aldous & Lhen in spirit as they begin their new life together. 

We would like to request Mr. Romeo Sanga and Mrs. Arceli dela 

Rosa to light the memorial candle to symbolize their brother 

and sister’s spiritual presence in this celebration. 

(Mr. Romeo Sanga and Mrs. Arceli dela Rosa go up and light 

the candle). 

Fr. Ed: I welcome you all who have come together this afternoon to 

celebrate the beginning of a new life to Aldous and Lhen. In the 

name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit. 

All: Amen. 

Fr. Ed: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, our 

Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 

All: And also with you. 

Fr. Ed: Dearly beloved, Aldous & Lhen, God is love and has, in a 

mysterious way, drawn you together in love. But He leaves you 

free to make that love grow or to let it wither and die. The Lord 

will help you continue with your love, if you do your share, 

when you stand to the commitment to love and honor one 

another in good times and in bad, in poverty and in plenty, in

sickness and in health, for better or for worse, in that covenant 

you are about to seal. Let us ask the Lord to bless Aldous & 

Lhen as they begin their journey throughout their life together 

in this Eucharistic celebration. 

PENITENTIAL RITE 

Fr. Ed: My brothers and sisters, to prepare ourselves to celebrate the 

sacred mysteries, let us call to mind our sins and ask God for 

forgiveness. 

All: I confess to Almighty God, and to you, my brothers and sisters, 

that I have sinned through my fault, in my thoughts and in my 

words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do. And 

I ask the Blessed Mary, ever Virgin, all the angels and saints, 

and you my brothers and sisters to pray for me to the Lord our 

God. 

Fr. Ed: May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and 

bring us to everlasting life.

Opening Prayer 

Fr. Ed: Let us pray. 

All: Amen. 

Father, you have made the bond of marriage a holy mystery, 

symbol of Christ’s love for his Church. Hear our prayers for 

Aldous & Lhen. With faith in You and in each other, they 

pledge their love today. May their lives always bear witness to 

the reality of that love. We ask you this, through our Lord Jesus 

Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy 

Spirit, one God, forever and ever. 

Jasmine: Please be seated for the Liturgy of the Word. 

LITURGY OF THE WORD 

Jasmine: Marriage means a great sharing of selves. To pray together 

opens up a new and deeper level of sharing. To pray is to place 

our life in our Father’s hands. It is to listen to Him, to be open 

to His word, to respond willingly to His desires. We hear the 

reading of the prayer of Tobias and Sarah before their wedding 

night. 

First Reading 

Dia: A reading from the book of Tobit (8:4-9). 

Tobias rose from the bed, and said to Sarah, “Get up my sister! 

You and I must pray and petition our Lord to win his grace and 

his protection.” She stood up, and they began praying for 

protection, and this was how they began: 

“You are blessed, O God of our fathers; blessed, too, is your 

name forever and ever. Let the heaven bless you and all the 

things you have made forevermore. 

It was you who created Adam, you who created Eve his wife to 

be his help and support; and from these two the human race 

was born. It was you who said, “It is not good that the man 

should be alone; let us make him a helpmate like himself,” And 

so I do not take my sister for any lustful motive; I do it in 

singleness of heart. Be kind enough to have pity on her and on 

me and bring us to old age together.” And she said with him, 

“Amen.” Then they both went to sleep for the night. 

This is the Word of the Lord.

Second Reading 

Jasmine: Love gives and forgives, accepts and adjusts. Also among 

people who love one another dearly disagreements develop. If 

reconciliation follows quickly – never let the sun go down on 

your anger or climb into bed without making up – the healing 

goes beyond the hurt. Afterwards one reaches a deeper degree 

of acceptance, love and understanding. 

Tina: A reading from the epistle to the Colossians (3:12-17) 

You are God’s chosen race, his saints; he loves you, and you 

should be clothed in sincere compassion, in kindness and 

humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with one another; 

forgive each other as soon as a quarrel begins. The Lord has 

forgiven you; now you must do the same. Over all these clothes, 

to keep them together and complete them put on love. And may 

the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it is for this 

that you were called together as parts of one body. Always be 

thankful. 

Let the message of Christ, in all its richness, find a home with 

you. Teach each other, and advise each other, in all wisdom.

With gratitude in your hearts sing psalms and hymns and 

inspired songs to God; 

And never say or do anything except in the name of the Lord 

Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

RITE OF MARRIAGE 

Jasmine: We have now come to the Rite of Marriage. Please remain 

seated. 

Lighting of the Wedding Candles 

Jasmine: May we request the candle sponsors, Marlo and Katrina to light 

the candles. 

These candles are symbol of light, of wisdom and of love, of 

hope and of life. The flame is a symbol of God’s presence. From 

Him alone can we obtain abiding light, wisdom and love, hope 

and life, now and forever. 


Allocution 

Lord, you have given Aldous & Lhen through your son, Jesus 

Christ, the gift of light that brightens their world. Bless their 

lives, which are symbolized by these candles so that they may 

discover more of their true selves in the light of your truth and 

lead to your love by their unique oneness and unconditional 

love. 

Aldous & Lhen, please rise. May we request the guardians and 

parents of Aldous & Lhen and the principal sponsors to stand 

and act as witnesses to this ceremony. 

Fr. Ed: Aldous & Lhen, you are here today so that the Lord may seal 

and strengthen your love in the presence of this community. 

May God pour His abundant blessings on your love. He has 

already consecrated you in Baptism and now He enriches and 

strengthens you by this holy sacrament so that you may assume 

and fulfill the duties of matrimony in mutual and lasting 

fidelity. And so, in the presence of the church, I ask you to state 

your intentions. 

Scrutiny 

Fr. Ed: May I now ask you to answer truthfully the following questions. 

Lhen, did you come here of your own free will to bind yourself 

forever in the love and service of your husband, Aldous? 

Lhen: Yes, Father.

Fr. Ed: Aldous, did you come here of your own free will to bind yourself 

forever in the love and service of your wife, Lhen? 

Aldous: Yes, Father. 

Fr. Ed: Aldous & Lhen, are you both ready to raise as good Christians 

the children whom God will give you? 

Aldous & Lhen: Yes, we are Father.

Fr. Ed: Aldous & Lhen, since you wish to contract the Sacrament of 

Matrimony, please join your right hands and express your 

intention before God and His Church.

Lhen, do you take Aldous here present, as your lawful husband 

according to the rite of our holy Mother, the Church? 

Fr. Ed: Do you give yourself to him as his wife?

Confirmation of the Marriage Bond 

Fr. Ed: And I, by the authority of the Church, calling on all those 

present here as witnesses, confirm and bless the bond of 

marriage which you have contracted. In the name of the Father, 

and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Fr. Ed: What God has joined, man must not divide. 

May our Lord continue to bless, preserve, and fill you with His 

grace that in life you may love, honor and cherish each other in 

faithfulness and patience, in wisdom and holiness that in the 

age to come, you may have everlasting life. 

Jasmine: The couple’s guardians, parents and principal sponsors may 

now be seated. 

Blessing of the Arrhae and Rings 

Jasmine: May we now request the ring and arrhae bearers, Joshua and 

Jaydan, to please come forward for the blessing of the rings and 

arrhae. 

Fr. Ed: Aldous & Lhen, we shall now bless your arrhae and rings. 

Our help is in the name of the Lord. 

All: He made heaven and earth.

Bless O Lord, your servants Aldous & Lhen with sufficiency of 

material possessions which these arrhae symbolize so that they 

may use them to attain eternal life. We ask these through Christ 

our Lord. 

Fr. Ed: Bless O Lord, these rings so that your servants Aldous & Lhen 

who wear them may ever live in mutual love and in unbroken 

loyalty. Through Christ Our Lord.

Aldous: Lhen, wear this ring as a sign of my love and loyalty. In the

Aldous: Lhen, I give you these arrhae as a pledge of my dedication to 

your welfare and that of our family. In the name of the Father,

Fr. Ed: My dear Aldous & Lhen, you have pledged love, fidelity and 

welfare to each other, and offered yourself together in marriage, 

to God and His church. I now pronounce you Husband and 

Wife. 

Let us now welcome the newly-married couple with warm

Lighting of the Unity Candle 

Jasmine: As a symbol of oneness in marriage and union with Christ, 

Aldous & Lhen will light the Unity Candle on the altar. 

May the flame of the Unity Candle remind them of God's 

presence in their married life. God alone is the source of light 

and warmth, wisdom and love, hope and life, now and forever.

Prayers of the Faithful 

Jasmine: Please rise. 

Fr. Ed: Dearly beloved, let us now pray for the Church and for our 

newly wedded couple whose marriage reflects their union with 

Christ. 

Vee: For each petition, let our response be: “Lord, graciously hear

Vee: For the Holy Church spread over the world, for its Leaders and 

for the rulers of our nation, let us pray to the Lord. 


Vee: For the poor and the sick and all those in trials and affliction, let

Vee: For Aldous & Lhen, that He may keep their hearts united 

forever, let us pray to the Lord. 


Vee: That He may protect them from evil, lighten their burdens,

Vee: For the guardians and parents of Aldous & Lhen, who have 

given much of themselves to raise their children in the way God

Matrimony, let us pray to the Lord.

Fr. Ed: Almighty, eternal God, look down with favor upon your 

servants. Grant them to remain faithful to you and to one 

another. At the end of a long and well-spent life, reward them 

with eternal happiness together with their families and with all

Blessing of the Bible and Rosary 

Jasmine: May we request Francis and Miggy to please come forward with 

the bible and the rosary.

(Blessing the Bible and Rosary) Lord, bless this Bible that Your 

word may give life to Aldous and Lhen and guide them to live 

according to your truth. Bless also this Rosary that the Blessed 

Mother always put their marriage under the mantle of her 

maternal protection. We ask this through Christ our Lord. 

Veil and Cord Ceremony 

Jasmine: May we request the veil sponsors, Neil and Mary Jane, to please 

place the veil over Aldous & Lhen. 

The veil is a symbol of purity. In baptism, we were clothed with 

a white garment to symbolize the new life of purity to which the 

Lord has called us. Aldous & Lhen, you are now clothed anew 

with this veil as you begin your life as husband and wife. 

Fr. Ed: Lord Jesus, we pray for Aldous & Lhen, may their love for each 

other remain purely and sustained. May your Holy Spirit 

descend upon themselves and their children. 

Jasmine: May we now request the cord sponsors, Jhon and Kathlyn, to 

please place the cord on Aldous & Lhen. 

The cord is a symbol of unity. It reflects the bond between man 

and wife, a bond that shall never be broken. 

Fr. Ed: Lord Jesus, we pray that the bond between Aldous & Lhen be 

strengthened over the years. May they grow in love for you and 

for one another with each passing day

God, our loving and Almighty Father.

and glory of His name, for our good and the good of all His

Prayer over the Gifts 

Fr. Ed: Lord, accept our offering for this newly married couple, Aldous 

& Lhen. By your love and providence, you have brought them 

together; now and bless them all the days of their married life. 

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

The Eucharistic Prayer 



Fr. Ed: Lift up your hands. 

All: We lift them up to the Lord. 

Fr. Ed: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. 

All: It is right to give Him thanks and praise. 

Fr. Ed: Father, all powerful and ever living God, we do well always and 

everywhere to give you thanks. By this sacrament your grace 

unites man and woman in an unbreakable bond of love and 

peace. 

You have designed the chaste love of husband and wife for the 

increase both of the human family and your own family born in 

baptism. 

You are the loving Father of the world of nature; you are the 

loving Father of the new creation of grace. In Christian

marriage you bring together the two orders of creation: nature’s 

gift of children enriches the world and your grace enriches also 

your Church. 

Through Christ the choirs of angels and all the saints praise and 

worship your glory. May our voices blend with theirs as we join 

in their unending hymn: 

All: Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of power and might. 

Heaven and earth are filled with your glory. 

Hosanna in the highest. 

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. 

Hossana in the highest. 

Jasmine: Please kneel for the consecration. 

Fr. Ed: Lord, You are holy indeed, the fountain of all holiness. Let Your 

spirit come upon these gifts to make them holy, so that they 

may become for us the body and blood of our Lord, Jesus 

Christ. 

Before He was given up to death, a death He freely accepted, He 

took bread and gave you thanks. He broke the bread, gave it to 

His disciples, and said: 

“Take this, all of you, and eat it; this is my body which will be 

given up for you.” 

When supper was ended, He took the cup. Again He gave you 

thanks and praise, gave the cup to his disciples, and said: 

“Take this, all of you, and drink from it: this is the cup of my 

blood, the blood of the new and everlasting covenant. It will be 

shed for you and for all men so that sins may be forgiven. Do 

this in memory of me.” 


Fr. Ed: Let us proclaim the mystery of our faith. 

All: Christ has died, Christ has risen, Christ will come again. 

Fr. Ed: In memory of His death and resurrection, we offer You, Father, 

this life-giving bread, this saving cup. We thank you for 

counting us worthy to stand in Your presence and serve You. 

May all of us who share in the body and blood of Christ, be 

brought together in unity by the Holy Spirit. Lord, remember 

Your church throughout the world; make us grow in love,

All: Amen 

together with Benedict XVI, our Pope, Gaudencio Rosales our 

Archbishop, and all the clergy. Remember our brothers and 

sisters who have gone to their rest in the hope of rising again; 

bring them and all the departed into the light of Your presence. 

Have mercy on us all; make us worthy to share eternal life with 

Mary, the Virgin Mother of God, with the apostles, and with all 

the saints, who have done Your will throughout the ages. May 

we praise You in union with them, and give You glory, through 

Your Son Jesus Christ. 

Through Him, with Him, in Him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, 

all glory and honor is Yours, Almighty Father, for ever and ever. 

COMMUNION RITE 

Fr. Ed: Let us pray with confidence to the Father in the words our 

Savior taught us: 

All: The Lord’s Prayer (Sung). 

The Nuptial Blessing 

Fr. Ed: My dear friends, let us turn to the Lord and pray that he will 

bless with his grace Lhen, now married in Christ to Aldous and 

that through the sacrament of the body and blood of Christ, He 

will unite in love the couple He has joined in this holy bond. 

Father, you have made the union of man and wife so holy a 

mystery that it symbolizes the marriage of Christ and his 

Church. 

Father, by your plan man and woman are united, and married 

life has been established as the one blessing that was not 

forfeited by original sin or washed away in the flood. 

Look with love upon this woman, your daughter, now joined to 

her husband in marriage. She asks for your blessing. Give her 

the grace of love and peace. May she always follow the example 

of the holy women whose praises are sung in the scriptures. 

May her husband put his trust in her and recognize that she is 

the equal and the heir with him to the life of grace. May he 

always honor her and love her as Christ loves His bride, the 

Church.

All: Amen 

Father, keep them always true to your commandments. Keep 

them faithful in marriage and let them be living examples of 

Christian life. 

Give them the strength which comes from the gospel so that 

they may be witnesses of Christ to others. Bless them with 

children and help them to be good parents. May they live to see 

their children’s children. And after a happy old age, grant them 

fullness of life with the saints in the kingdom of heaven. 

We ask this through Christ our Lord. 

Fr. Ed: Lord, Jesus Christ, You said to Your apostles: I leave you peace, 

My peace I give to you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of 

Your Church, and grant us the peace and unity of Your 

Kingdom, where You live for ever and ever. 

All: Amen. 

Fr. Ed: The peace of the Lord be with you always. 


Fr. Ed: Let us offer each other the sign of peace.

All: Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world:

Jasmine: Please kneel. 

Fr. Ed: Lord Jesus Christ, with faith in your love and mercy I eat your 

body and drink your blood. Let it not bring me condemnation, 

but health in mind and body. 

This is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. 

Happy are those who are called to His supper.

All: Lord, I am not worthy to receive You, but only say the word and

Fr. Ed: Lord, in your love you have given us this Eucharist to unite us 

with one another and with you. As you have made Aldous & 

Lhen one in the Sacrament of Holy Marriage and in the sharing 

of one bread and one cup, so now make them one in love for 

each other. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. 

All: Amen. 

Removal of Cord and Veil 

Jasmine: May we request Jhon and Kathlyn to take off the cord, and Neil 

and Mary Jane to take off the veil. 

Admonition 

CONCLUDING RITE 

Fr. Ed: Aldous & Lhen, now that you have received the Holy Sacrament 

of Matrimony, I admonish you to remain faithful to one 

another. 

Lhen, love your husband and be a good wife; persevere in faith, 

love and holiness. 

Aldous, love your wife as Christ loves His Church and live with 

her in the holy fear of the Lord.

After the picture taking, we request everyone to gather at the 

exit of the church for the releasing of doves and to shower our 

newly-weds with petals and confetti. There will be a brief 

pictorial as well so please remain outside.
