YMCA Camp Korah
8 ‐ 12 Year Old Camps
JUNIOR OUTDOOR ADVENTURE
Lots of fun awaits you in the great outdoors at Camp
Korah. Our Outdoor Adventure Camps promote
physical fitness, outdoor exploration, healthy
challenges and more. Campers will hike along the
Voyageur Trail, practice camping skills, enjoy
canoeing and kayaking, play sports and games, go
orienteering, create a nature craft and maybe even
observe birds and beavers in their natural habitat.
WATERFRONT EXPLORERS
Canoe and kayak with your friends while
learning about boating safety. Learn
about water organisms and what lives
along the water’s edge. Design, build, and race your
own sailboat. All this can be experienced at this
exciting new camp. Led by qualified staff, this camp
offers youth an opportunity to gain practical life
skills when it comes to water safety. Traditional
camp games and activities round out this
educational and fun camp.
SENIOR ECO CAMP
Campers can release their inner‐scientist and indulge
a passion for knowledge in our ecology‐based
summer camps. Eco‐Camp Korah will give campers
the opportunity to learn in a fun, interactive way
about nature, conservation biology, water ecology,
botany and even identifying bugs. Principles of
“leave no trace” camping and how to take care of
delicate ecosystems will be explored. By the end of
the summer, our young scientists and future
naturalists will make friends, gain self‐confidence,
and have a better appreciation of the world around
them.
PIONEER EXPERIENCE
This camp is the ultimate summer
adventure! The Pioneer Experience camp
introduces campers, firsthand, to daily life in Ontario
nearly 150 years ago. Campers learn the art of
woodworking, candle making, hearth cooking and
much more as they spend each day exploring the
daily activities of Ontario’s early settlers. Campers
will go on an expedition, learn about farm animals
and their contributions to pioneer life, learn about
and plant an egg carton “garden” and even play 19 th
century games. A visit to the Old Stone House will
top off the week for our Pioneer Campers.
