YMCA Camp Korah
10 ‐ 14 Year Old Camps
SENIOR OUTDOOR ADVENTURE
Lots of fun awaits you in the great outdoors at Camp
Korah. Our Outdoor Adventure Camps promote
physical fitness, outdoor exploration, healthy
challenges and more. Campers will hike along the
Voyageur Trail, practice camping skills, enjoy
canoeing and kayaking, play sports and games, go
orienteering, create a nature craft and maybe even
observe birds and beavers in their natural habitat.
Y ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE CAMP
Say YES to Science! Campers will try hands
on environmental science experiments
and activities that make learning about
science fun! Qualified camp staff will lead unique
theme weeks. Outdoor activities will assist in
gaining an appreciation for the natural world and
may include challenging hikes, exploring the
waterfront, fire building and maybe catching the
occasional frog.
Y SURVIVOR CAMP
Campers will learn what it takes to survive
in the wild. Working together with fellow
campers and leaders, they will learn how to build
natural shelters, make a fire without matches,
discover what wild plants are edible, track animals,
cook on a campfire, how to find or make water safe
and more! Campers will play the “Survivor” game to
test their tracking skills! This challenging camp will
help the older camper gain self‐esteem, work
cooperatively and make new friends, as they gain
confidence in being in the natural world.
BIKE & HIKE CAMP
This popular camp finds a new home at Camp Korah
this summer. Trail and off road rules and riding skills
will be featured, while instruction on in‐traffic bike
riding will be taught on the quieter roads around
Camp Korah and the upper Goulais Avenue areas.
Campers will also spend time hiking and exploring
the beautiful Saulteaux Voyageur Trail around Camp
Korah. This camp is perfect for those who want to
explore and exercise at the same time. Campers
need an appropriate‐sized, safe, 2‐wheeled bike and
approved bike helmet. Bikes will be transported
from the YMCA on the first day of camp and
returned to the YMCA on the last day. Bikes will be
locked inside a portable at Camp Korah for the entire
week. Arrangements may be made to drop off and
pick up bikes each day at Camp Korah.
