Characteristic<br />
<strong>Plate</strong> <strong>Heat</strong> Exchanger is composed of a fixed frame, a movable frame and corrugated plates which are in<br />
between the two frames<br />
Hot liquid and cold liquid go through between the corrugated plates in turn<br />
To prevent leaking, gaskets are mounted around the plates and tightening bolts are used to put the plates<br />
together<br />
The arrangement of two liquids is that the cold liquid goes upward and hot liquid goes downwards in<br />
order to increase heat transfer efficiency<br />
Advantage to use plate type heat exchangers over Shell & Tube type heat exchangers:<br />
- The corrugations in the plates reduces the liquid turbulence to a low Reynolds number, and the liquids<br />
flow is countercurrent so that the heat transfer efficiency is always 3 ~ 5 times higher than Shell & Tube<br />
type heat exchangers

This is composed of embossed and a normal plates or two embossed plates which are<br />
welded together<br />

<strong>Plate</strong> type fresh water generator is vacuum distillation system which is normally used in the isolated place<br />
such as on ships or on islands to achieve fresh water for drinking and washing<br />
The DHP vacuum evaporating distiller utilizes heat from diesel engine coolant and Low Pressure steam by<br />
special steam jet heater<br />
The DHP vacuum evaporating distiller is base on the DHP's titanium plate heat exchanger, one for<br />
evaporating of the heated brine and the other for condensing of the water vapor<br />
