PRODUCT OVERVIEW<br />
<strong>Marvell</strong> extends its line of <strong>Marvell</strong>® <strong>Avanta</strong>® broadband access products with a new smaller, low-power<br />
media converter chip. The new <strong>Marvell</strong> <strong>Avanta</strong> <strong>LP</strong> <strong>MC</strong>-<strong>88F6601</strong> Low Power Media Converter can be used<br />
in devices that convert signals from optical networks that lead to the home, to the Ethernet-capable<br />
transmission used within the home, for faster network broadband access. The result is a plug-and-play<br />
access device that eliminates the need for the technician to make complicated in-house installation,<br />
which saves operators time and money. The <strong>Marvell</strong> <strong>Avanta</strong> <strong>LP</strong> <strong>MC</strong>-<strong>88F6601</strong> addresses the Ethernet<br />
passive optical with a single, highly integrated System-on-Chip (SoC). This one-of-its-kind device introduces<br />
an effective power management with radical reduction in power consumption, providing a Fiber-To-The-<br />
Home optimized solution for the next generation of optical indoor and outdoor ONT deployments.<br />
The second generation of <strong>Marvell</strong> <strong>Avanta</strong> features an integrated ARM © CPU, GPON and EPON MAC,<br />
Programmable Packet Processor, GE Ethernet MAC, 802.3az-compliant Energy Efficient Ethernet GE PHY,<br />
1588v2 support and two TDM channels for POTS. In addition, the <strong>Marvell</strong> <strong>Avanta</strong> <strong>LP</strong> <strong>MC</strong>-<strong>88F6601</strong> is designed<br />
for smooth content delivery and offers a line rate performance with full IPv4 and IPv6 support.<br />

SoC perfectly fits the traditional SFP module form factor, presenting an innovative approach for PON<br />
termination and conversion to Ethernet, in a pluggable SFP device.<br />
