Graduates Enjoy Annual Partners
in Excellence Breakfast
Nearly 200 St. Joseph’s Academy
graduates returned to campus on January
20 for the third annual Partners in Excellence
Breakfast. The event, sponsored
by the SJA Alumnae Association, serves
each year as the kick-off for the Alumnae
Annual Giving drive.
Senior Elizabeth Karam, Student
Council president, served as emcee for
the event. Gracie Palombo, senior class
president, offered a blessing and introduced
Principal Linda Fryoux Harvison
’66, who updated the graduates on some
of the many ways in which faith development,
academic excellence and personal
growth come alive at SJA.
Guests enjoyed a video produced by
multimedia instructor Sara Tomeny
Rounds ’99. The video featured SJA
community members’ reflections on this
year’s charism theme: We Are All One:
Gifted and Transformed by God’s Spirit.

SJA alumnae are accomplishing
wonderful things in their personal and
professional lives, but they are often
shy about sharing their achievements
with us. That’s where you come in.

Pat Carville Hoffman ’73 reflected on
what SJA has meant to her and to the
community at large. Even in the face of
bad news on the state and national fronts,
the local community is a far better place
because of SJA, Hoffman said.
Sister Joan Laplace, CSJ, of the SJA
Development Office said that proceeds
from the Alumnae Annual Giving appeal
go directly to the school’s operating
budget and help keep tuition below the
actual cost of educating each student.
