The Arlberg provides fantastic sports opportunities throughout the year for both young
and old.
In the summer you can enjoy:
Walking and hiking using the extensive network of hiking trails in and around the
local area as well as far into the mountains and to neighbouring communities. The
green ring – the equivalent to the winter’s white ring – takes you from Lech to Zürs,
then to Zug and back to Lech in three days, with signs and information provided
along the way. Climb various rock faces and try our fixed rope route up Karhorn
and Gampen. Mountain biking, nordic walking, jogging, a fitness trail, swimming,
tennis, beach volleyball, crag, canyoning, paragliding, hang gliding and much more
are available.
Cultural activities in Lech include the intellectual Philosophicum discussions every
September. It’s also easy to get to the Bregenz Festivals from here, as well as to the
Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg. Several fantastic museums also put on exhibitions
that change on a regular basis.
Alpine skiing is the main activity during the winter. But our cross-country tracks
are also worth a look, and families have a lot of fun snowshoeing, nordic walking,
hiking, tobogganing, bobsleighing, sleigh riding, heli-skiing and on husky sledging
tours.
In culinary terms, Lech am Arlberg has been named a world gourmet village.
Nowhere else will you find so many award-winning restaurants in such a small
area.
