Hult International Business School Inc.
is an independent, not-for-profit institution
affiliated with the EF Education First Group.

“
Today, success in
business is as much about
understanding cultures
and globalization as it is
about understanding finance
and marketing. With our
exceptional faculty, rigorous
curriculum, and unique
campus network, Hult
International Business School
is committed to educating
not just leaders of business,
Our
History
Our legacy in training global business
leaders since 1964 shapes our future as the
world’s most international business school.
A practical
business education
In 1964, Hult, then known as the Arthur D.
Little School of Management, was established
as America’s first corporate university focused
on delivering a practical business education
for managers. The teaching pedagogy was
different from other business schools’ due to
its emphasis on “action learning”—applying
classroom theory in the real world. This
methodology was honed over 40 years and
is central to Hult’s pioneering approach to
practical business education today.
The world’s most international
business school
In 2003, one of Europe’s most successful
entrepreneurs, Bertil Hult, financially
supported the school to expand its teaching
methodology to not only train effective
managers, but also prepare them to thrive on
a global stage. Bertil Hult strongly believed
that students must experience cultural
differences and global business practices
firsthand, growing the school from its
single Boston location to a global network
of campuses including London, Dubai,
Shanghai, and San Francisco—creating
Hult’s compelling vision of a practical and
global business education has attracted many
students from around the world. Today, Hult
has grown to become the world’s largest
graduate business school. Our growth
demonstrates the tremendous demand for a
Why Hult?
Why students choose the world’s
most international business school:
Global Campus Rotation
Hult offers students a unique
opportunity to see the world while they
study. As a Master student, you can
start anywhere and go anywhere. On
Global Campus Rotation, you can pick
your home campus and then choose
to spend up to three months studying
at two others. Students could begin
in Boston, then travel to Shanghai
via London or San Francisco via
Dubai. You’ll get an inside look at the
world’s fastest-growing economies
and examine international business
practices close-up. Almost 90% of our
students choose Hult because they
are interested in this option, and over
half of our students spend time in more
than one campus.
Top-ranked
business school
Hult continues its rapid ascent in
business school ratings, currently
ranking in the top 1% of all business
schools. Hult is ranked #1 for
International Experience and #3
for International Business by the
Financial Time. Hult is ranked #20
in the U.S. and #29 in the world by
The Economist.
Hands-on
business experience
Unlike other business schools that
are research-oriented, 80% of Hult’s
faculty have real-world experience.
Many have worked for companies
like P&G, Motorola, and Credit
Suisse, while others have run their
own businesses or created their own
patents. Hult empowers students to
develop their own real-world skills by
completing a six-week Action Project
in which they consult for a major
company like Levi’s, Philips, Xerox,
or IBM. This reinforces our mission to
prepare job-ready graduates who can
deliver results from day one.
A U.S.-
accredited degree
American-style graduate programs
have long been the premier standard in
business education. Hult International
Business School is accredited by the
New England Association of Schools
and Colleges (NEASC) and Association
of MBAs (AMBA). That means that no
matter where you decide to pursue
your Master program, you will graduate
with a U.S.-accredited degree.
Lifelong
international connections
Hult immediately takes your network
global. Hult students hail from
over 120 countries and speak 105
languages. This unparalleled diversity
not only creates lifelong friendships
and worldwide connections, but also
provides you with firsthand experience
working in multinational teams—a
fundamental skill for a global executive.
Thought-
leading education
Hult is on the cutting edge of business
education in several key areas:
emerging markets, digital marketing,
social entrepreneurship, and
crowdsourcing. The school launched
the first dedicated Master program
covering digital marketing, search
engine technology, and the impact
of social media. The school also
organizes the world’s largest business
school competition—the annual
Hult Global Case Challenge—that
crowdsources ideas from students all
over the world to help a leading nonprofit
organization tackle a major
social challenge.

Hult helps map your path to professional success.
Global Campus Rotation
Hult offers you the extraordinary opportunity to live, study,
and experience international business firsthand at up to
three of our five campuses.
Immerse yourself
in the world’s most
influential cities
Hult’s Global Campus Rotation gives you
the chance to study at up to three of our
five campuses. This provides you with
a unique opportunity to experience
firsthand the emerging markets of the
Middle East, the powerhouse economy of
China, or to develop a broad network of
corporate and professional contacts
across multiple continents.
Once you start your Master on your home
campus, you can decide where to take
elective courses. Choose to stay on your
home campus for the full year or spend up
to 12 weeks on one or two other campuses.
Imagine starting your Master program
in London and then spending time in
Shanghai before graduating in Boston.
It’s a truly life-changing experience that
only Hult can deliver.
Hult Boston overlooks downtown
and the Charles River.
12
Seamless experience,
from Hult to Hult
Our Global Campus Rotation is fully
integrated into our Master program
curriculum. In contrast to most business
schools that offer their students study
abroad opportunities through exchange
programs with other schools, Hult prides
itself on being the full provider of the Global
Campus Rotation.
No matter which Hult campus you are on,
you will use the same electronic library, the
same Course Management System, and will
be familiar with the way our Career Services
and Student Services work.
You’ll mingle with classmates from other
campuses during your Global Campus
Rotation and build valuable contacts as
you study alongside new faces and learn
from different faculty on our campuses.
Our global network ensures that your
experience is uninterrupted and
hassle-free.
A closer look at
international business
By learning international business in a
global setting, you’ll be able to put complex
issues into context and gain new market
insights. Study risk management on our
Dubai campus and compare your ideas to
those of regional thought leaders. Discuss
a case study about the manufacturing
industry in China and then go on a tour of
the world’s largest textile factory. Nothing
can replace the experience of getting an
on-the-ground understanding of what is
happening in different parts of the world—
international business cannot just be taught
in a classroom.

literary and academic district of Bloomsbury. As a Hult student, you
will benefit from what economists call the “cluster effect”: the added
value of studying in London where the close concentration of so
many top academic institutions creates an optimal environment for
learning and networking opportunities. You are within striking distance
of the best that London has to offer: world-class museums and
parks, Oxford Street’s shops, Covent Garden’s theaters, Marylebone’s
boutiques, and Soho’s exciting nightlife, all at your doorstep.

Dubai
Hult’s Dubai campus.
East meets West in Dubai
Modern, fascinating, and safe, Dubai is an important gateway for
trade flow between the East and West. As one of the most compelling
cities in the Middle East, Dubai has also been reinventing itself as one
of the world’s most cosmopolitan—it is the region’s center for finance,
logistics, shipping, and aviation. Home to more than 150 nationalities,
with over 80 percent of the population hailing from outside the United
Arab Emirates, Dubai is the preferred regional headquarters for many
of the world’s top multinationals operating in the Middle East. Hult
Dubai’s impressive contact list gives our students the opportunity to
meet with experts in industries from logistics to finance, all year round,
at company visits and on campus.
secure, modern student accommodation is located five minutes from
Mirdif City Center, one of Dubai’s largest commercial outlets and
shopping malls. Designed by internationally renowned architects,
Our hands-on approach to learning helps you become
job-ready from day one.
26

Our
LEAP Method
Employers want graduates who are job-ready. We’ve
designed our curriculum so that you don’t just study
abstract theory—you also get hands-on experience.
Our innovative curriculum is based on three components,
“Learn, Experience, Action Project”: LEAP.
1. Learn
Hult’s LEAP method is an integrated
approach to learning that enables you
to be able to put classroom theory
into practice.
Start your Master by learning theory
and business fundamentals in the
classroom. Like most top business
schools, Hult faculty employ the
case study method to illustrate how
business principles are applied in
practice. Professors encourage
thought-provoking class discussions to
facilitate the exchange of ideas and the
sharing of experiences. Hult provides
you with the theory, tools, terminology,
and trends to give you a broad
perspective on business. However,
unlike other top business schools,
Hult goes beyond the theoretical to
the practical.
2. Experience
Experience is a critical component
of our LEAP method. Your year
will include panel discussions
with industry experts, company
visits, and exclusive networking
opportunities. These features will
give you an opportunity to relate
theory to practice.
Meaningful dialogue with prominent
business leaders will offer valuable
insights into how executives make
decisions in a fast-moving,
competitive environment with
imperfect information.
Past classroom speakers include
a senior executive of Real Madrid
Football Club, who explained the
economics of running one of the
world’s largest sports franchises; the
co-founder of Apple Computer, who
discussed how to maintain innovation
in a changing business environment;
and the head of a major Silicon
Valley venture capital firm, who
advised students on how to approach
and evaluate potential venture
capital opportunities.
3. Action Project
Participate in a real-world project for
a major company. Advised by a
mentor (typically an experienced
management consultant), small teams
of students compete with one another
to develop a business strategy for a
leading multinational.
No other business school offers such
access to key decision-makers of
the world’s leading companies. Over
a period of six weeks, each team
will consult with company managers
to make a business case for the
development of a novel idea. Each
team will present its recommendations
to a senior company leader.
Hult’s Action Projects are designed to
emphasize competition, innovation,
and growth. Though the scope of
Action Projects varies, projects focus
on a central challenge facing the senior
executive team of the company.
with a one-year,
intensive Master of
International Business.
Meet the challenges of a
global marketplace
A strong understanding of how the world is
interconnected through finance, marketing,
operations, technology, and strategy gives
students an immediate head start to launch
their careers. Hult’s Master of International
Business (MIB) degree helps students acquire
practical business knowledge with a focus on
international and cross-cultural understanding
of the marketplace. This degree is particularly
well-suited to recent university graduates
(business and non-business majors) who do
not have extensive work experience. This
degree is also appropriate for those with
work experience who seek to move into the
international business realm.
Curriculum combines hard skills with
lessons in decision making and strategy
Hult’s MIB curriculum delivers an
understanding of today’s global marketplace.
Initially, students focus on learning hard skills
in international finance, marketing, operations,
Sample One-Year MIB Curriculum 1
and strategy. Subsequently, graduates also
gain the analytical, problem-solving, and
critical-thinking skills necessary to make
decisions in a rapidly evolving, cross-cultural
world. Through a combination of case study
discussions and lectures, students will also
acquire presentation and communication
skills necessary to work and excel in
multinational settings and companies.
Hult’s Global Campus Rotation Program
Our business school has been ranked
#1 in International Experience and #3 in
International Business in the Financial Times
(2012). We firmly believe that an international
perspective is crucial to understanding
today’s business issues. Hult’s Global
Campus Rotation Program allows students
to gain critical insights into the world’s
key economies and firsthand international
business experience. You can pursue your
MIB in Boston, San Francisco, London,
Dubai, or Shanghai. During the elective
module, you can choose to remain at
your home campus or study at a different
Hult campus.
Action Project gives you great exposure
Our Action Project gives students exposure
to real-world companies. They work in small
teams, led by a faculty advisor to solve a
business problem or think of growth channels
for multinational companies. MIB students
are given the chance to apply what they have
learned in a true business setting, helping
them get job-ready for their future.
How your Action Project works
We place you in small teams and assign each
team to a leading business or company to
help solve a real business problem. Each team
is led by a faculty advisor. At each of Hult’s
international campuses, we have created
partnerships with leading global multinationals
and business executives. Within each of
these companies, five student teams work
intimately with a high-level executive in charge
of growing the company. Student teams are
further motivated to work at high standards by
competing with each other.
Over six weeks, these teams meet with
the company executive(s) four times while
facing the task of developing a full-fledged
plan to grow the company. Simultaneously,
they are aided through the process by one
of Hult’s world-class consulting coaches.
During this distinctive project, each team will
develop insights about the particular industry
and business, identify breakthrough ideas,
develop a business concept, and build an
implementation plan to present to senior
executives and CEOs.
Get ready for a world of opportunities
We provide a sound foundation in
international business that students can
bring to any new job and apply on day one.
Hult’s Career Services works closely with
students in job searches, arranging recruiting
fairs, campus networking opportunities, and
internship placements. Major multinationals,
like PepsiCo, PricewaterhouseCoopers,
Deutsche Bank, and Accenture, actively
recruit graduates who have both strong
business skills and possess an international
perspectives. There is no shortage of
opportunities for MIB graduates.
Convert seamlessly to a Hult MBA
Hult’s MIB is taught by the same faculty
as Hult’s top-ranked MBA program, and
follows an abbreviated version of the MBA
curriculum. Because our MIB and MBA
curricula are highly synchronized, MIB
graduates can convert to a Hult MBA degree
after three years of work experience and an
additional 23 credits.*
* To enroll in the MBA program, MIB graduates must have 2 years post-MIB work
experience (and three years overall work experience) and demonstrate requisite
GMAT scores for admission.
Enhance your employability with project
management skills
In today’s business world, the demand
for skilled project managers is urgent and
growing. About 80 percent of all major
projects fail to meet expectations because
of cost overruns or substandard quality.
Fewer than 20 percent of all major projects
are completed on time. Key projects are
expanding not only in terms of numbers, but
also in terms of scale, scope, and medium.
They are stretching the capabilities of forprofit
and non-profit organization managers,
rapidly moving from the physical to the virtual,
accelerating the pace of globalization, and
changing the way in which we do business.
Hult’s Project Management specialization
will equip you with the technical and people
skills required to manage major projects for
multinationals, family businesses, and NGOs.
Concurrent Project
Management specialization
Hult’s MIB program offers a unique Project
Management specialization, designed to
give you the broad skills needed in planning,
organizing, securing, and managing
resources to meet business objectives. To
be eligible for the specialization concurrent
with your Hult MIB degree, an MIB student
must take project management electives
(9 credits) and successfully pass a project
management certification exam. After earning
the additional nine credits and passing the
certification exam, the student will receive
the specialization in Project Management, in
addition to the Hult MIB degree.
A 21st century Project
Management curriculum
Hult courses in Project Management are
cutting-edge, encompassing topics covered
in Project Management certification exams
and imparting skills of current and future
applicability. Sample topics covered in Project
Management electives include:
• Project management concepts
and principles
• Risk management
• Project scheduling
• Project monitoring and control
• Project finance and portfolio management
These Project Management courses will
prepare you for careers in:
• International agencies
• Governmental authorities
• Development banks
• Commercial banks
• Finance firms
academic experience with in-depth practical
knowledge. Several Hult professors
have managed their own marketing and
communication firms or run major marketing
initiatives for multinationals. You will learn
fundamental marketing principles and
practices from experts who bring a wealth of
real-life experiences to the classroom.
A key to a promising career
MIM graduates will understand the power
of media in all its forms and have the critical
communication skills to add value to any
venture. You will be prepared to assist clients
with their marketing strategies, advertising
campaigns, public relations efforts, brand
building, and product design. Students that
specialize in digital marketing will be able to
advise clients on web-based strategies and
techniques, an exciting and expanding field.
Action Project provides
hands-on experience
Conduct a groundbreaking survey of
consumer preferences or devise an
e-marketing strategy for a real-world
company. Hult’s Action Projects allow you
to acquire practical marketing skills through
“learning by doing.” During the last module of
the MIM program, students form small teams
led by a faculty advisor to research real-life
marketing issues and propose strategically
sound and practical solutions.
Master of
Social Entrepreneurship
Hult’s Master of Social
Entrepreneurship is a
highly practical program
focused on how to
apply business skills to
important global social
problems. Learn how
to deploy innovative
business solutions to
large-scale social issues.
What is social entrepreneurship?
Social entrepreneurs are often from the
corporate sector or people who are business
entrepreneurs, who are passionate about
social issues. They think about ways to
combine resources in innovative ways to
address social, political, or environmental
concerns as any profit-making enterprise
does. The most important difference between
a traditional business and a social enterprise
is that profit is not the main motive. The
enterprise must be sustainable and not incur
losses, but the overall driving force is about
maximizing social impact.
Sample One-Year of Social Entrepreneurship 1
1 Courses may be offered out of this sequence.
2 Electives may only be taken where the MSE program is offered, subject to capacity constraints.
44
Why is social entrepreneurship
important now?
Solutions to global social problems need
innovative and entrepreneurial approaches
more than ever. Increasingly, central
governments are reducing their expenditures
on social issues, either unable to fund
expensive programs, or concluding that
traditional methods have failed to have
impact. At the same time, needs are
becoming greater and more complex.
Evidence indicates that social entrepreneurs
are making a difference, often in areas where
government and international development
may have failed. In some countries,
governments are looking into how social
entrepreneurs are solving problems.
The scope of social entrepreneurship
Social entrepreneurs tackle major social
issues, from increasing the availability of
quality education for low-income students
to fighting poverty in developing countries.
Social entrepreneurship takes place in both
non-profit and for-profit organizations, and
successful social entrepreneurs must build
relationships with corporations, charities,
and governments alike. Social entrepreneurs
must be knowledgeable about contemporary
global issues, solution-oriented, and adept
at mobilizing human, financial, and political
resources to support their project.
Pragmatic learning outcomes
Hult’s pioneering Master of Social
Entrepreneurship (MSE) gives you the skills
necessary to engage in successful issueadvocacy,
problem-solving innovation,
and project development. Graduates will
be empowered to act as effective leaders
of change, either via new ventures of their
own or through existing for-profit, non-profit,
and governmental institutions. The program
emphasizes building core business skills
optimized for socio-political contexts.
Action Project provides
hands-on experience
The capstone of Hult’s Master programs,
the Action Project, calls upon students to
put knowledge and skills to the test as they
become consultants for actual organizations
working on real-world challenges. Social
entrepreneurship is about “thinking” and
“doing,” and the Hult program is unique in
placing you in a position to do both, not just
in the classroom, but in front of a real client.
Become part of Hult’s commitment to
social change
Hult is at the forefront of social
entrepreneurship among the world’s
leading business schools. As a Clinton
Global Initiative member, Hult is committed
to tackling the world’s toughest social
challenges through crowdsourcing innovative
ideas and solutions from the world’s best and
brightest business school students.
the school’s commitment to social
entrepreneurship. Students from business
schools around the world compete in small
Initiative-affiliated non-profit. Recent affiliates
have involved One Laptop per Child (laptop.
Global career opportunities
Graduates of Hult’s MSE have an exceptional
knowledge base of key business skills
coupled with project design and management
in the social arena. This is a highly flexible tool
kit, transferable in the for-profit or non-profit
sectors, especially in the development of
CSR, sustainability, or innovation strategies.
Graduates will be efficient collaborators,
accomplished problem-solvers, and will
always be asking the question: “Why don’t
we fix this problem?” Employers increasingly
seek graduates with the right combination
of keen business mindsets, global outlooks,
and awareness of the ethical dilemmas facing
modern multinational managers.
Global
Alumni Network
The Hult experience lasts beyond your one year
on campus. After you graduate, the Hult Alumni
Association provides you with continual support
through a series of initiatives designed to boost
your career.
Exclusive network
of alumni
One of the most enduring benefits of
your Hult Master degree will be joining
the global network of Hult alumni. The
Hult Alumni Association alone—run
by a committee of past graduates
and current students—produces
an excellent annual return on your
investment in a year at Hult. We have
more than 5,500 alumni around the
world who span a wide cross-section
of industries and include an impressive
number of CEOs, entrepreneurs,
government ministers, diplomats, and
well-connected senior executives.
From Tokyo to Caracas and Shanghai
to Berlin, Hult alumni chapters are
active in 23 world cities.
Master classes
in alumni cities
85 percent of our alumni live outside of a
campus city, so we bring Master Classes
to them—free of charge. Examples of
classes offered this year include:
• Leading in Multicultural
Organizations (Moscow, Madrid)
• Bidding Strategies (Brussels,
Frankfurt)
• Change Management (Kuala
Lumpur, Bangkok)
• Social Media (Milan, Munich)
• Entrepreneurship (Abu Dhabi)
Free electives for
the rest of your life
Come back to the classroom to keep
your knowledge cutting edge. As an
alumnus, each year you can take one
elective at any of our campuses at
no cost—an option that would cost
USD3,000 annually if you used a
professional training firm. You may join a
course at any campus if you have a valid
visa to study in that country. We give you
the flexibility to arrange your own flights
and accommodations.
Hult Connect App for
alumni to stay in touch
Once you graduate, it’s easy to
stay connected with the school and
your classmates. Hult Connect is
an app installed on your iPhone/
iPad, allowing you to find Hult alumni
with its worldwide map (including a
GPS feature that will guide you to
the alumnus you want to connect
with). Follow school announcements,
reunions, social gatherings, and
executive speakers events through
this application.
Hult LinkedIn
The Hult LinkedIn group is an exclusive
online forum to network with high
profile senior executives, open to
Hult alumni only. Join Hult Alumni
LinkedIn group to connect with over
1,400 members around the world in
various industries. Our alumni engage
in discussions, share information,
and post job offers and relevant
Other Hult Programs
Hult’s MBA pays for itself in half the time
of other programs
Compared to other top business schools, Hult
represents a very smart investment. Equipped
with an MBA, Hult graduates command
competitive starting salaries (the average
starting salary for the MBA class of 2010
back to the workforce sooner means Hult
graduates, on average, are able to recoup
their investment in just over a year. This is
far quicker than traditional two-year U.S.
MBA programs.
California State requirement that the School collect $2.50 per $1,000 of
tuition on behalf of the Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF) at the time of
first payment or after enrolment in the San Francisco campus. The Student
Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF) was established by the California Legislature
to protect any California resident who attends a private postsecondary
institution from losing money, if a student prepaid tuition and suffered a
financial loss as a result of the school closing the student is entitled to
claim compensation.
Grading Procedure
1. Grading Standards
Course instructors will evaluate and assess participant performance.
Grades are assigned according to the Instructor’s assessment of
performance on the intellectual and professional criteria established
for the course. The Instructor has full authority and responsibility to
establish performance criteria, evaluate participant performance,
and award grades. The Faculty uses the following grading system to
evaluate participant performance:
Points Grade Performance
4.00 A Outstanding
3.67 A- Excellent
3.33 B+ Very Good
3.00 B Good
2.67 B- Acceptable
2.33 C+ High Marginal
2.00 C Marginal
1.67 C- Low Marginal
1.00 D Unsatisfactory
0 F Fail
Acceptable graduate-level work is a B- or better. The Registrar releases
official final course grades at the end of each module in the form of a
transcript. Individual grade breakdowns (participation, homework, and
exam grades, for example) are available only from Instructors. Every
Hult student is entitled to know the manner in which his or her course
grade was calculated.
2. Grade Point Average
A weighted grade point average (GPA) is computed by multiplying the
numerical grade received for each course or module by the number of
credit hours per course, totaling these figures, then dividing the sum
by the total credit hours. “Pass” and “Incomplete” grades and their
corresponding credits are not factored into the weighted average. A
“Fail” will be factored into the weighted average as a numerical grade
of zero.
Every course in which a student has enrolled, and for which a student
has been assigned a letter grade, will be denoted on his or her
transcript. Every letter grade denoted on the transcript will be factored
into the calculation of the student’s overall GPA.
Graduation Requirements
1. Basic Requirements Master candidates must complete 39 credits of
course work to be eligible for their respective degree. Course credit is
awarded for achieving a grade better than “F” on a course. All courses
in Module A, B and C, as well as the skills track courses must be
completed with a satisfactory grade. Should a participant receive an
“F” on a required course, this course must be re-taken at Hult or an
approved institution within a period of three years from the participant’s
original enrollment date and the participant must achieve a satisfactory
grade. Those who satisfy all program requirements (including:
participation in all courses, payment of all financial obligations, return
of all library materials, and completion of all evaluations), who receive
a grade other than “Incomplete” for each course, who have no
outstanding Honor Code issues, and who have a final GPA of 2.70
or better are granted the Master degree. Degrees are recommended
by the Dean to the Faculty and the Board of Trustees and awarded
by vote of the Faculty and the Board. In addition, for visa purposes,
the student must meet full-time student residency requirements of the
campus host country.
2. Dean’s List Participants who earn a GPA of 3.60 or above for any
Module are formally named to the Hult International Business School
Dean’s List for that Module. Qualifying participants receive notification
from the Dean with appropriate recording in the participant’s
permanent academic file. With the participant’s approval, formal
announcement of this scholastic achievement will be made to
respective sponsors and agencies. The School is very pleased to offer
this achievement award and hopes this award will serve as added
incentive for all participants.
3. Graduation with Honors Participants graduating with a cumulative
GPA at or above 3.60 and who are in the top 10% of the class will
be designated a Hult Scholar and will receive their degree “with
Distinction” indicating the highest honor. Those whose cumulative
GPA is 3.60 or above but who are not in the top 10% of the class will
receive their degree “with Excellence,” as recommended to the Faculty
and Board of Trustees by the Dean.
Dismissal from the Program
The School reserves the right to dismiss any participant at any time whose
academic performance is unsatisfactory, whose conduct constitutes
unacceptable professional behavior, or whose legal or medical problems
hinder satisfactory performance. In such cases, the Dean will notify the
participant in writing, a degree will not be awarded to the participant, and,
as appropriate, the participant’s sponsor will be notified.
