FHANA Introduces IBOP Cup
June 2011
FHANA, in conjunction with Iron Spring Farm and Dream Gait Friesian
has established the IBOP Cup, an award available to all participants who
enter an IBOP in either Dressage under Saddle or Driving. The
requirements are as follows.
Iron Spring Farm IBOP Cup Under Saddle Test:
All individuals who enter the IBOP under saddle test are
automatically entered into the Iron Spring Farm IBOP Under Saddle Cup.
Scores and placing will be determined by the results of the IBOP
scores held at the various Keuring sites.
Ribbons will be given to the first 2 places at each location.
Top 5 horses in North America with scores over 70 will be mailed an
Iron Spring Farm Dressage Cup Cooler
The North American Champion (the highest IBOP Score under
saddle) will receive $500
The North American Reserve Champion (the second highest IBOP
Score under saddle) will receive $250

Dream Gait Friesian IBOP Cup Driving Test

entered into the Dream Gait Friesian IBOP Driving Cup.
Scores and placing will be determined by the results of the IBOP

Top 5 horses in North America with scores over 70 will be mailed a
Dream Gait Friesian Driving Cup Cooler.

FHANA Offers Early Keuring Registration Discount
Attention members!!! FHANA is now offering a 5% discount on any
Keuring registrations received before June 15th, 2011. To take
advantage of this great benefit simply fill out the Keuring registration
form and take 5% off of your total.
Foal registrations are excluded
FHANA has also added an online registration
form. http://www.fhana.com/myhorses/ This is a new feature to the
FHANA website. Please bear with us as we continue to make changes to
this portion of the FHANA website.

Notify the office of changes to your horses*
Notify the office of horses not listed under your ownership*
*This feature will not take place of transferring or importing a horse but
will simply notify the office if there is a correction needed to your
profile and list of horses.

Sports Driving Predicate Simplified
Members of the FHANA Sports Committee have been working very hard
to simplify the Driving Sports Predicate for the FHANA
membership. Previously members had to accomplish 10 tests from the
FEI 9 test and obtain a score of 60% or higher from 3 different
judges. The judges can be either "R" Dressage, or "R" Combined Driving
Judge. Some judges do have both licenses.
To accomplish this test 10 times is very prohibitive and not very easily
done in North America. The Sports Committee in working very closely
with the American Driving Society and the KFPS to come up with what
hopes to be the final solution to help you earn your Driving Sports
Predicate.
FHANA members will still need to take the FEI test 9, but we have
developed a point system that is currently in use in the Netherlands in
awarding their Driving Sports Predicate.
The point System is as follows:
Score between 60-65% earn +1 point
Score between 66-70% earn +2 points

Score 71% or higher earn +3 points
Tests may be judged by multiple judges with the highest score being
submitted to the FHANA office. Only one test per day is allowed.
FHANA will keep track of your score and once you receive the required
10 points you will be notified that you have achieved your Sports
Predicate.

The 2011 FHANA Keurings are quickly approaching and you won't want to

be seen in the FHANA Keuring programs.
