<strong>Making</strong> a tussie mussie<br />
A tussie mussie was a posy of flowers and herbs<br />
carried by people in Medieval and Tudor times to<br />
hide bad smells. They were also thought to protect<br />
people from disease - particularly the plague.<br />
<strong>Tussie</strong> mussies both look nice and smell nice.<br />
Before you start<br />
You will need<br />
A variety of herbs and flowers<br />
Some fine string<br />
A length of ribbon<br />
Step 1<br />
Start with a sweet smelling flower of your choice.<br />

Add round it some lavender.<br />

What about adding some other herb? Try lemon<br />
balm or mint perhaps.<br />
