ii To change the subject and the experimental environment for a periode of time has always been refreshing and gave me new ideas for the experiments in Bielefeld and finally I hope it supports the experiments at BESSY II as well. According to my BESSY adventures and the support during some of my physical examinations I have to say one big ”Thanks” to Dr. Norbert Müller. I really enjoyed working with him and profited from his immense experimental experiences. His experimental enthusiasm and his imperturbable wish to succeed impressed me very much during my last stay with him at BESSY II and has definitely been infecting as well! Furthermore, I want to thank Dr. Martin Pohl for the quite good collaboration there, the noodle salad and ”How to build a TTL pulse using LabView and a phone”. According to my work at the EUV-source in Bielefeld it has been a great pleasure to work with Dr. Peter ˇ Siffalovič most of the time. I never experienced better cooperation than with him and finally this resulted in some absolutely crazy experimental setups and surprisingly they all worked very well. I would like to thank Dr. Wiebke Hachmann for her patience when we mixed up her preparation laboratory sawing gratings and preparating nozzle heads. Moreover, I thank Dipl.-Phys. Martin Michelswirth for a lot of helpful and interesting discussions and ”delicious” lunch breaks at the Westend. My thanks go also to Dipl.-Phys. Christian Meier for endless discussions on the reason of the existance of blue screens on Windows PCs, the related probability amplitude of their appearence and his support according to any computer problems during my diploma thesis. Finally he gave me some creative ideas and critical remarks referring to the evolutionary algorithm. According to all mechanical constructions I want to thank Mr. Gronemeyer and his coworkers for a lot of ultra small ”mechanical wonders” they built for me. Especially the manufacturing of the nozzle heads and a specially designed piezo stage. Sometimes I felt guilty to annoy them with my constructions and the extremely small dimensions but I always got enthusiastic support. Finally the results I achieved are part of their work as well!

From my point of view it is not a matter of course to get support and any freedom necessary to not affect my studies very much due to my work there and finally the extremely good working atmosphere has been a pleasure. Furthermore, the discussions on Evolutionary Algorithms with whole time C++ programmers gave me some helpful hints on the realizations of some concepts throughout the programming of my application and the evaluation of some GNU libraries. Therefore I especially thank Werner Runge for a lot of helpful and interesting discussions as one of my close working colleges there. I thank Candy Dulfer, Les McCann, Maceo Parker, the BuJazzO, theGRP All Star Big Band and Sting to make long experimental nights short and having fun during fade adjustment procedures and writing this thesis listening to their music.
