Eligibility
• Must be a baptized member, in good standing; of an Apostolic Assembly church.
• Currently enrolled in any of the following institutions; university, college, Trade/technical School; senior in high
school.
• You must be able to attend an in-person interview with the scholarship review board at the General
Convention (location and date; to be disclosed if chosen).
• You cannot have been a past; first place recipient of this scholarship.
• All non-first place recipients of our scholarships must wait two years before re-applying for the first place
scholarship.
The Social Assistance Scholarship is available to all baptized members, in good standing; of an Apostolic Assembly
church. The student must be enrolled in any of the following institutions; university, college, trade/technical school;
senior in high school. The Scholarships will be awarded at the National General Convention. The award will be based
upon scholastic achievement, church participation, accomplishments, evidence of community involvement, essay
writing and various other factors.
All entries must be postmarked no later than November 1, 2011. Applicants will be notified and interviewed by the
scholarship judges at the Apostolic Assembly Ministerial Convention on November 15-18, 2011:

Guidelines
• Incomplete applications will not be accepted. No exceptions.
• All applications must have the signature of either a parent or Pastor.
• No monetary award will be distributed without the verification of registration. In order to release this award in
a timely manner, please submit with the application, a copy of the student’s current registration from
their enrolled institution.
• All applications must be delivered; either by fax, mail or hand delivered by the date indicated on the application.
• The Pastor’s reference letters must be entirely completed by the Pastor and it must be delivered; either by
fax, mail or hand delivered by the date indicated on the application.

As our church realizes remarkable growth, new segments and ministries have developed. The Apostolic Assembly
has identified a need to provide a scholarship program for those members of the general assembly that meet the
qualifications.
Objectives
The Department of Social Assistance will provide a scholarship program for the members of the Apostolic
Assembly that meet the requirements:
The targeted objectives are as follows:
This program was created to provide supplemental financial assistance to those full-time students that meet the
following guidelines.
Details
• This program has been implemented to award the efforts of top apostolic students, who desire to take part
in the scholarship process.
• This program has been established by the Apostolic Assembly to encouragement members to further
their education.
• This program is not a comprehensive scholarship program; it has been established as a supplement to
existing funds.
• This program selection will be conducted at the General convention and or on as needed program.
• Financial awards will be presented based on general financial condition of the A. C. Nava fund.
The Apostolic Scholarship Program has operated successfully for many years. With the growth of the Church, the
scholarship program has been developed to benefit those members of the Apostolic Assembly, who have chosen
to further their education. The Department of Social Assistance will designate, an Apostolic Scholarship
Coordinator, on an as needed basis, with the approval of the General Board. The coordinator will be in charge of the
formulation, communication, implementation and overseeing of the scholarship process. The Apostolic Scholarship
Coordinator will appoint a scholarship review committee that will review the candidates. The scholarship
will be coordinated as follows:
• A letter will be sent out to all churches advising them of the A. C. Nava Scholarship Program.
• Scholarship applications will be made available to all members of the Apostolic Assembly.
• Scholarship applications will accepted up to the given date on the application.
• Scholarship applications will be reviewed by the Apostolic Scholarship Coordinator and scored upon
completeness, presentation, writing skills, letters of recommendations, signatures, GPA, ETC.

• The scholarship review committee will have no knowledge of the applicant’s scores, therefore their scoring
will be done solely on their in person interview.
• The scholarship review committee will ask the applicant pre-selected questions in order to score the
applicant regarding the scoring sheet guidelines provided.
• The scholarship review committee will not be able to ask the applicant regarding their GPA, so as not to
influence the reviewer’s scoring of the applicant.
• Each member of the scholarship review committee will judge based on their own perspective without
discussion with the other members.
• Once the reviewer’s scores have been tallied and scored, awards will be given out accordingly.
• The amount of the scholarship awards will be based on the budgeted monies designated by DSA.
Implementation of the Apostolic Scholarship Program is coordinated with all General Conventions as seen fit by the
Department of Social Assistance.
Stipulations
The Department of Social Assistance has implemented a scholarship program for the members of the Apostolic Assembly
that fulfill the following stipulations:
• In order for a member to qualify for this program the member must be currently enrolled in a university,
college, junior college, trade school or high school senior (high school students will not be given the actual
award until he/she is actually enrolled in a university, college, junior college, trade school ).
• In order for a member to qualify for this program the member must be a member of the Apostolic Assembly
in good standing.
• In order for a member to qualify for this program the member’s application must have been received
complete on or before the required date on the application.
• In order for a member to qualify for this program the member’s pastor’s evaluation form must be received
on or before the required date on the application.
• Once the applicant wins the first place award the applicant will not be eligible to ever apply again for an
A.C. NAVA scholarship.
• If an applicant wins other than the first place award the applicant must wait one cycle to be eligible again
for a scholarship.
• All scholarships are awarded based on the financial strength of the A. C. Nava Fund.
