VOLUME 107, NUMBER 26
This issue of THE ALLIANCE WITNESS
contains Miss Edith M. Beyerle's final
"Meditations in the Word."
Miss Beyerle, who is convalescing in
her Asheville, N.C., home after serious
illness earlier this year, has but one regret.
"I shall miss the many wonderful
letters I have received down through these
many years," she says.
"These many years," believe it or not,
have been nearly thirty-eight. She began
editing the Mcditations page in February,
1935.
Miss Beyerle, the oft-quoted "Pameii"
of the Meditations pagepameii is her
Chinese name; she sewed in China from
1916 to 1923-is not yet opting for uninterrupted
leisure. "I am looking to the
Lord for my next step," she says, adding,
"but if I attempt any writing, there will
be no deadlines!''
I surely speak for thousands of appreciative
readers in expressing thanks to
Miss Beyerle for her faithful service.
Next issue in this column we shall announce
the successor to her "Meditations
in the Word" page.
