Elfsea and Dragonsfire Tor have had an amazingly successful year! We
thank everyone for your hard work and helping show the Kingdom the
spirit of generosity in all that we do for events.

A quick highlight of the Barony's successes:
* Hosting a Coronation for Their Graces Hrafn and Elizabeta, that entailed
a camping event - not the norm for Coronation but a lot of fun!

Greetings Elfsea!
2012 was a great year in Elfsea. I would like to take time to personally thank all
those that have put in so much work this past year to make all our endeavors such
successes!!! Without all of your help we could never have pulled off: Elfsea De-
fender, Baronial College, Coronation, a HUGH Boy Scout Demo, and so much
more. Thank You!
Please welcome the following new officers:

Lady Caitrina inghean Mhurchadha as our new Exechequer ( as of January 2013
Round Table)
December 17th is our Holiday party for the Barony. The Baron and the Baroness
are providing all the meat main courses, and the rest will be pot luck. Look for
emails with more information!! The party starts at 7:30 pm at the Coors center.
We will have a SHORT business / Financial committee meeting at 7:00 pm, right
before the party.
The bids for Defender 2013 close the night of the Holiday Party. If there are no
bids, it will be assumed the event is not going to happen. We need bids asap.
There are many officer positions that will be open. Most of these are necessary for
us to remain an active Barony. They are:
Seneschal
Archery Marshal
Hospitaler
Rapier Marshal

Greetings Officers and Financial Committee:
At 7:00 pm on Decemver 17 (the evening of the Holiday Party) we will discuss the financial policy.
Changes do not have to be made, it is simply a review to determine if the current policy will stand for
the Barony in the coming year.
Below is the current policy, please review it and bring any suggestions, or comments to the meeting.
1. The Barony shall have its yearly budget approved by the populace. The budget is due by Moot
in September each year. Each officer should list anticipated expenses for that office for the
coming year and present them at business meeting prior to September Moot.
2. The populace must approve any unbudgeted expenditure over $200.00. Expenditure shall be
valued at the total of payments if the expenditure is made in payments. Any expenditure that
requires payment in advance mush have an invoice before payment can be made
3. Receipts for out of pocket expenses must be turned in within 2 moots from the date of purchase
or the expenses will not be reimbursed.
4. Prior to lending or borrowing funds, the Barony will have in writing, the method of repayment,
liability, and profit disbursement.
5. The Barony shall loan funds or property to SCA Inc, only.
6. The financial committee shall consist of the following (1) Baron or Baroness, (2) Seneschal, (3)
Exchequer and two members at large.
7. The two at large members shall be selected by majority vote of the warranted officers of the
Barony of Elfsea.
8. Financial Committee Members that miss more than 2 meetings shall be reviewed to see if
removal from the financial committee is needed.
9. A member can be removed by a majority vote of the committee.
10. Vacancies must be announced at moot and published in the newsletter. Vacancies must be filled
within 30 days of the position becoming vacant.
11. Financial committee members must be members of the SCA.
12. The Baron, Baroness and Seneschal shall receive a copy of the Exchequer’s quarterly report by e
-
mail or hardcopy within 30 days of filing. A copy of the quarterly report will be available for any
member of the financial committee to review upon request.
13. The financial committee must approve event bids with attached budgets. Every event Steward
must have a Keystone to assist them.
14. Expenses for an event must be turned in to the exchequer within 2 weeks after the event, so the
report can be prepared and sent in on time.
15. Joint events will be subject to all regional financial policies, with baronial representation.
16. An acting officer shall have the power to access and spend the funds allocated for said office and
exercise the authority of the office.

I would like to introduce myself. I am Diana the Just
from Dragonsfire-tor and I am the new Chronicler. I
would like to thank Katrine for doing such a great job as
Chronicler and wish her well in her future endeavors.
I apologize for getting this newsletter out a bit late but I
got the program I needed for doing the newsletter only a
couple of days ago and am learning how it works as I go .
I hope to hear from all of you during the year with arti-
cles you would like to share, interesting stories, jokes
etc…, AFTER ALL THIS IS YOUR NEWSLETTER. I
have made only one change. Submissions are due on the
Tuesday after moot.

the contents of the baronial storage shed to a new storage unit. on Saturday
Dec 1st.Please plan to assist If you have a pick-up truck it would be
helpful. We will be meeting at 10am at the storage shed.

Winter is hear so it will start getting cold at practice.
Practice will continue unless its freezing or raining or
both :-). Hope to see you at practice on Wednesday

This is your friendly neighborhood rapier marshal here as you well
know. What you might not know is its almost been two years since I
started in this position and this means it's up for bids. If you're interested
in the position please send me an email privately for more info.
In other news, practice has been going well. We have a few new
people showing up and making our practice even more fun. You
should come out and enjoy it as well!

Greetings, There really isn't much to report this month which is good news.
The barony is in good financial shape and the 2013 budget was approved at
moot last night. If you are an officer of the barony and have things you need to
purchase that were in your budget please do so as time is running out. My office
is open for bid as my warrant ends in January so if you are interested now is the
time to get your application for office turned in.
