S›n›fland›rma
Yafl
20-29 30-39 40-49 50-59 60+
Düflük 35
2. Vücut Ya¤ Oran›n›n Ölçümü(%BF):
Vücut ya¤ oran› Bioelektrik Özdirenç Analizi
(BIA) olarak adland›r›lan bir yöntemle
ölçülür.
1970’lerden sonra BIA vücut ya¤ oran›n›
tahmin etmede öncü olmufltur.Yaln›zca
geçti¤imiz birkaç y›ld›r vücut ya¤ oran›n›n
ölçülmesinde BIA teknolojisi baflar›l› bir
flekilde tüketicilere banyo baskülü olarak
sunulmaktad›r.
BIA teknolojisi ile, düflük yo¤unlukta bir
elektrik vücuda gönderilmektedir.Sinyal
oran› çok düflüktür ve vücuda zarar vermez.
Bireyin vücudundaki ya¤›n miktar›na göre
elektrik sinyali de¤iflik derecelerde güçlükle
vücuda akacakt›r.Sinyalin vücuda ak›fl
zorlu¤u elektik özdirenci olarak
adland›r›lmaktad›r.Bu yüzden, elektrik
Su,
vücut a¤›rl›¤›n›n yaklafl›k olarak %50-70’ini
oluflturmaktad›r. Bu oran zay›f dokularda,
kilolu dokulara gore daha fazlad›r.Su vücut
fonksiyonlar›n› düzenleyen biyokimyasal
reaksiyonlar için bir araçt›r.
At›k ürünler hücrelerden idrar ve ter
boflalt›m›nda suda tafl›n›r.
terledi¤inize dayanan hidrasyon derecenize
gore de¤iflir.Daha do¤ru sonuç alabilmek
için, ölçüm öncesi hidrasyon derecenizdeki
dalgalanmalardan kaç›n›n›z. Baskülün
toplam vücut suyu ölçümündeki do¤rulu¤u,
vücuttaki suyu biriktirme e¤ilimindeki
hastal›klardan flikayetçi olan bireylerde
azalacakt›r.
3
zamanlar›nda kullan›lmal›d›r.
iyidir.
5. Vücut Ya¤› Analizinde Atlet Modunun
Gereklili¤i:
Vücut ya¤› tahmininde bioelektrik özdirenç
analizi(BIA) teknolojisinin yetiflkin atlet
vücutlar›nda daha fazla de¤er biçebilece¤i
ortaya ç›km›flt›r. Kemik yo¤unlu¤undaki ve
hidrasyon seviyesindeki atletlerin fizyolojik
de¤iflimi bu farkl›l›¤›n 2 nedenidir. Atlet
modu yaln›zca 18 yafl ve üzerindeki kifliler
taraf›ndan seçilebilir.
6. Atlet’in Tan›m›:
Miktar boyutunun atlet’in tan›m›nda
4
kullan›lmas› araflt›rmac›lar taraf›ndan genel
kabul görmektedir.Örne¤in, atlet kendine
özgü spor ya da aktivitede bulunarak özel
becerilerini gelifltirmek için sürekli olarak
haftada en az üç kez, ikifler saat spor yapan
kiflidir.
7. Kas Kütlesi:
Cihaz vücudunuzdaki iskeletsel kas
kütlesi a¤›rl›¤›n› ölçmektedir.
‹nsan vücudunuzda yaklafl›k olarak 650 kas
vard›r ve vücut a¤›rl›¤›n›z›n afla¤› yukar›
yar›s›n› oluflturmaktad›r.Bu kaslar üç farkl›
gruba bölünebilir:iskeletsel, düz ve
kardiyak. Tüm bu kaslar›n de¤iflik ifllevleri
vard›r.
‹skeletsel Kas: Hareket sa¤lar, duruflu
sa¤lar, eklemleri dengeler ve ›s› üretir.
Düz Kas: Derin organlar›n d›fl
korumalar›nda bulunur.
Kardiyak Kas: Yaln›zca kalpte bulunur.
‹skeletsel Kas:
Kaslar›n dokusu genellikle iskeletsel kas
olarak düflünülür. ‹skeletsel kaslar, iskelet
sistemini kaplar ve vücudunuza fleklini verir.
Bu kaslar iskeletinize dayan›kl›, yayl›
tendonlar olarak ba¤l›d›r. ‹skeletsel kaslar
serbest olarak kontrol alt›ndad›rlar, yani
bilinçli bir flekilde kontrol edilirler.
Yürüyüflünüzden bafl›n›z› sallaman›za kadar
tüm vücut hareketleriniz iskeletsel kas çekimi
alt›ndad›r. ‹skeletsel kaslar›n
fonksiyonlar›ndan biri de duruflunuzu
ayarlamak ve dik durman›za yard›mc›
olmakt›r. ‹skeletsel kaslar ayr›ca kemiklerinizi
uygun yerinde tafl›man›z ve eklemlerinizin
yerinden ç›kmas›n› önlemek için önemlidir.
Yüzünüzdeki baz› iskeletsel kaslar direk
olarak cildinize ba¤l›d›r. Bu kaslar›n en zay›f
çekimi yüzünüzün ifadesini de¤ifltirmesidir.
‹skeletsel kaslar kas aktivitesinin ürünü gibi
›s› üretirler. Bu ›s› normal vücut s›cakl›¤›n›z›
koruyabilmek için oldukça önemlidir.
‹skeletsel kaslar sa¤l›kl› 58 kg bir bayan›n
vücut a¤›rl›¤›n›n yaklafl›k olarak %30’unu
oluflturur.Sa¤l›kl› 70 kg bir erkek için bu
oran %40’d›r.
8. Kemik Kütlesi:
Cihaz canl› olmayan kemik minerali
içeri¤inin a¤›rl›¤›n› tahmin etmektedir. Bu,
206 kemikten oluflur.
Kemikleriniz kan damarlar›n›z›, sinir
hücrelerinizi ve canl› kemik hücresi olarak
bilinen osteositleri içine al›r. Bunlar sert,
kalsiyum ve fosfor içeren canl› olmayan bir
çat› taraf›ndan tutulur. Peiost olarak
adland›r›lan ince bir zar kemiklerinizin
yüzeyini kaplar.
Kemik mineral içeri¤i yafla ve cinsiyete gore
de¤ifliklik gösterir.
Yetiflkinler ‹çin:15-29 yafl aras›ndaki
bayanlarda ortalama kemik minerali içeri¤i
kemik minerali içeri¤i yaklafl›k 0.8 ile 2.2kg
aras›ndad›r.
recommended to use this scale. Implant performance may be jeopardized and impaired.
2. Do not disassemble the scale as incorrect handling may cause injury.
3. The evaluated readings of body fat & hydration % are only reference value. It is not
recommended for use of any medical purpose. Please always consult your medical doctor
for advice of any medication or diet in order to achieve normal weight level.
4. To prevent interference, do not use the device, in envorinment near equipment with strong
electro-magnetic field. Always keep a good distance from such equipments when operating
the scales, or simply turn off those equipments radiating strong electro-magnetic fields before
operating.
5. This scales requires barefeet for proper conductivity while measuring body fat.
6. Do not place the scale on a carpeted or uneven surface.
7. Excessive drinking, eating, exercising, medical conditions, taking medication, the female
menstrual cycle., have an effect on the measurement results.
8. Body fat Scale is not suitable for use people of following conditions:
• Children under 10, and adults over 80
• People with symptoms of fever, edema, osteoporosis.
• People on dialysis treatment.
• People taking cardiovascular medicine.
• Being Pregnant
• Athletes who undertake more than 10 hours of intensive sport activity.
• Those with heart pulse rate under 60 beats/minute.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KNOW BEFORE USING THE SCALE
The scale uses the method of Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) to estimate body fat,
total body water, bone mass and muscle mass. It sends a harmless amount of electricity into
the body, then estimates from the measured impedance of the body, the percentage of total
body water, percentage body fat, bone mass and muscle mass. The body fat scale is also
equipped with an Athlete Mode for athletes whose body build is different from non-athletes.
1. The importance of monitoring percentage body fat (%BF):
The absolute weight traditionally determines whether or not a person is obese. Weight change
in itself does not indicate whether it was the weight of body fat or muscle that had changed.
In weight management, it is desirable that muscle mass be maintained while body fat is lost.
Thus, monitoring the percentage fat of the body is an important step toward successful
weight management and body health.
The optimal %BF of an individual varies according to age and gender. The table as follows
may be used as a guide:
9
Standard for Men
Rating
Age
20-29 30-39 40-49 50-59 60+
Low 28
Standard for Women
Rating
Age
20-29 30-39 40-49 50-59 60+
Low 35
2. Measuring of Body Fat Percentage
(%BF):
%BF is measured by a method called
Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA).
The use of BIA to estimate body fat has
been pioneered since the seventies. It was
only in the past few years that the estimation
of body fat using BIA technology was
successfully offered to the consumers as
a compact bathroom scale.
With the BIA technology, a low intensity
electrical signal is sent through the body.
The signal is very low and causes no bodily
harm. Depending on the amount of body
fat of the individual, the electrical signal will
flow with a different degree of difficulty. The
difficulty with which a signal flows through
the body is called electrical impedance.
Hence, by measuring the electrical
impedance and applying to the data a
proprietary algorithm, %BF can be
estimated.
Please be reminded that the %BF
estimated with the scale represents only
a good approximation of your actual
body fat. There exist clinical methods of
estimating body fat that can be ordered
by your physician.
3.The Importance of Monitoring Total
Body Water Percentage in the Body
10
( %TBW)
Water is an essential component of the
body and its level is one of the healthindicators.
Water makes up approximately
between 50-70% of the body's weight. It is
present proportionally more in lean tissue
compared to fat tissue. Water is a medium
for biochemical reactions that regulate body
functions. Waste products are carried in
water from cells for excretion in urine and
sweat. Water provides form to cells; helps
to maintain body temperature; provides
moisture to skin and mucosa; cushions vital
organs; lubricates joints and is a component
of many body fluids. The amount of water
in the body fluctuates with the hydration
level of the body and state of health.
Monitoring the level of body water can be
a useful tool for one's health maintenance.
Similar to body fat estimation, the %TBW
function provided in this scale is based on
BIA.
The estimated %TBW may vary according
to your hydration level, that is, how much
water you have drunk or how much you
have sweated immediately prior to the
measurement. For better accuracy, avoid
fluctuation in hydration level prior to the
measurement. The accuracy of the scale
in estimating TBW will also decrease with
individuals suffering from diseases that
tend to accumulate water in the body.
Body Fat Range ( %BF) Optimal Total Body Water Range(%TBW)
4 to 14 %
MEN 15 to 21 %
22 to 24 %
25 and over
4 to 20 %
FEMALE 21 to 29 %
30 to 32 %
33 and over
The optimal %TBW of an individual varies
according to age and gender. The table as
above may be used as a guide:
Please be reminded that the % TBW
estimated with the scale represents only
a good approximation of your TBW.
There exist clinical methods of estimating
total body water that can be ordered by
your physician.
4. The time of using scale’s body fat
and total body water functions:
For maximum accuracy and repeatability,
it is recommended that the scale's body
fat and total body water functions be used
at approximately the same time of the day,
e.g. before breakfast in the morning. It is
also a good practice to avoid swings in
hydration level of the body prior to the
measurement. Establishing your own
baseline value of %BF and %TBW and track
their changes is better than merely
comparing your %BF and %TBW value to
the population's "normal" value.
5. The necessity of Athlete Mode in a
Body Fat Analyzer:
It has been found that body fat estimation
using BIA could overestimate the
percentage body fat of adult elite athletes.
The physiological variation of athletes in
bone density and level of hydration are two
of the reasons said to account for the
difference. The Athlete mode is selectable
only for adults of 18 years of age or older.
6. Definition of an Athlete
The general consensus among researchers
is that a quantitative dimension could be
used in defining an athlete. For example,
70 to 63 %
63 to 57 %
57 to 55 %
55 to 37 %
70 to 58 %
58 to 52 %
52 to 49 %
49 to 37 %
an athlete could be defined as a person
who consistently trains a minimum of three
times per week for two hours each time, in
order to improve specific skills required in
the performance of their specific sport
and/or activity.
7. The Definition of Muscle Mass:
Our Body Analysis Scale estimates the
weight of Skeletal Muscle Mass in your
body.
You've got around 650 muscles in your
body, and they make up roughly half of
your bodyweight. These muscles can be
divided into three different groups: skeletal,
smooth and cardiac. All of these muscles
can stretch and contract, but they perform
very different functions.
Skeletal muscle: Produces movement,
maintains posture, stabilizes joints and
generates heat
Smooth muscle: Found in the walls of
hollow organs
Cardiac muscle: Exists only in your heart
Skeletal muscle
The tissue most commonly thought of as
muscle is skeletal muscle. Skeletal muscles
cover your skeleton, giving your body its
shape. They are attached to your skeleton
by strong, springy tendons or are directly
connected to rough patches of bone.
Skeletal muscles are under voluntary
control, which means you consciously
control what they do. Just about all body
movement, from walking to nodding your
head, is caused by skeletal muscle
contraction. Your skeletal muscles function
11
almost continuously to maintain your
posture, making one tiny adjustment after
another to keep your body upright. Skeletal
muscle is also important for holding your
bones in the correct position and prevents
your joints from dislocating. Some skeletal
muscles in your face are directly attached
to your skin. The slightest contraction of
one of these muscles changes your facial
expression.
Skeletal muscle generates heat as a byproduct
of muscle activity. This heat is vital
for maintaining your normal body
temperature.
Skeletal muscle represents approximately
30% of body weight of a healthy 58 kg
woman or 40% of a 70 kg man.
8.The definition of Bone Mass:
Our Body Analysis Scale estimates the
weight of non-living bone mineral
content. This is important for monitoring
and maintaining healthy bones through
exercise and calcium-rich diet.
An adult skeleton is made up of 206 bones,
which come in several different shapes and
sizes and have specific structure.
Your bones contain blood vessels, nerve
cells and living bone cells known as
osteocytes. These are held together by a
framework of hard, non-living material
containing calcium and phosphorous. A
thin membrane called the periosteum
covers the surface of your bones.
Bone Mineral Content differs according to
age and sex.
For Adults: The average bone mineral
content of 15-29 year old female is
approximately 2.7 kg, that for 15-29 year
old male is approximately between 2.7 and
3.5 kg.
For Children: The average bone mineral
content of 8-16 year old child is
approximately between 0.8 and 2.2 kg.
