The safe protection for<br />
storage tanks for<br />
hazardous liquid chemicals
<strong>Over<strong>pressure</strong></strong>-under<strong>pressure</strong><br />
safety device:<br />
Depending on operating conditions<br />
and course of pipework at<br />
the plant there may arise a dangerous<br />
over<strong>pressure</strong> or under<strong>pressure</strong><br />
inside the areation and<br />
ventilation system of chemical<br />
storage tanks. This will happen<br />
especially when the tanks are<br />
being filled by using compressed<br />
air or when a gas scrubber is<br />
installed.<br />
Design and function:<br />
This safety device consists of a<br />
glued casing of PVC containing<br />
two hollow spheres of polyethlyene,<br />
placed at the aspiration and<br />
expiration (exhaust) side each.<br />
As soon as over<strong>pressure</strong> or under<strong>pressure</strong><br />
inside the exhaust<br />
air pipe system will overpass thepreset<br />
response <strong>pressure</strong>s, the<br />
correspondent sphere will rise<br />
for <strong>pressure</strong> relief. When the<br />
<strong>pressure</strong> decreases the response<br />
threshold, the sphere will sit<br />
back in its seat and the total areation<br />
and ventilation system is closed<br />
again.<br />
Field of application:<br />
The over<strong>pressure</strong>-under<strong>pressure</strong><br />
saftey device can be installed<br />
to nearly all tanks with atmospheric<br />
<strong>pressure</strong>. It is fitted as a<br />
glued joint from PVC, normally.<br />
As the overpresssure- under<strong>pressure</strong><br />
safety device is made<br />
of chemical-resistant materials it<br />
can be used universally.<br />

Different types:<br />
There are two versions of the<br />
over<strong>pressure</strong>-under<strong>pressure</strong><br />
saftey devices.<br />
Standard type: for installation into<br />
the exhaust air pipe of the tank<br />
leading to the open air.<br />
Version for installation into piping<br />
systems: it will be used for media<br />
discharging corrosive gases<br />
analogue to the standard model,<br />
however, it is mandatory to instal<br />
the over<strong>pressure</strong> and under<strong>pressure</strong><br />
side into the clean air<br />
pipe of a gas scrubber and which<br />
has to be lead to the open air.<br />
