Presentati<strong>on</strong> of Video <strong>on</strong> Importance of Soil / Water Testing & Good Agricultural Practices, Vermi<br />
Compost, Vermi Wash.<br />
Display of Sprayers & the importance of regular calibrati<strong>on</strong> and use of protective clothing.<br />
On site testing of soils brought by the farmers and handing over the test reports at the farmers<br />
meet.<br />

3) Key Findings<br />
• All the Farmers have shown keen interest in getting their soil / water tested and <strong>on</strong> receiving the<br />
recommendati<strong>on</strong>s.<br />
• Farmers are not aware of importants of Soil / Water testing<br />
• Most of them are producing vegetables and supplying to City and Rice is grown for self<br />
c<strong>on</strong>sumpti<strong>on</strong><br />
• No Cold Storage facility nearby for farmers.<br />
• Most of the farmers raised issues c<strong>on</strong>cerning the lack of support when a crop is attacked by pests<br />
and no mechanism to get help during that situati<strong>on</strong>.<br />
• The income levels remained c<strong>on</strong>stant for last 5 years and no improvement in their earning<br />
patterns<br />
• Every farmer has a mobile ph<strong>on</strong>e<br />
• Awareness <strong>on</strong> Government Schemes is minimal.<br />
• Some farmers took loans from Cooperative Banks and Andhra Bank<br />
• Most of the farmers are educating their children.<br />
• Local MLA is himself a progressive farmer and is ready to improve usage of Bio Fertilizers and<br />
Organic Farming.<br />
• After the <strong>Program</strong> we had taken the feedback and it was positive.<br />

• Farmer are keen to get the technical support <strong>on</strong> the crops cultivated from eFresh.<br />

• Soil & Water Healthcards need to be provided to all the farmers.<br />
• Requested Market Linkages for their vegetables and are keen to implement<br />
Good Agricultural Practices for Export of Vegtables.<br />
• Farmers also interested in Organic Farming<br />

Issue<br />
He has grown Brinjal in 2 acres of land he has and there was a attack of pests and<br />
he tried to reach the input supplier and agricultural officer but he did not get any<br />
resp<strong>on</strong>se in the end he lost nearly Rs.40000 <strong>on</strong> Brinjal cultivati<strong>on</strong>.<br />
