Mr. Eqab has over 19 years’ experience in financial control <strong>and</strong> auditing. Prior to joining<br />
ABG in February 2005, he worked at Shamil Bank as Senior Manager, Internal Audit.<br />
Prior to this role, he was a member of the Audit team at Arthur Andersen. He is the Vice<br />
Chairman of the Accounting <strong>and</strong> Auditing St<strong>and</strong>ards Board of the Accounting <strong>and</strong> Auditing<br />
Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI). He is also a Board Member of <strong>Al</strong><br />
<strong>Baraka</strong> Turk Participation Bank, Jordan Islamic Bank <strong>and</strong> Banque <strong>Al</strong> <strong>Baraka</strong> D’<strong>Al</strong>gérie. In<br />
addition he serves as Chairman of the Board Risk Committee of Banque <strong>Al</strong> <strong>Baraka</strong> D’<strong>Al</strong>gérie<br />
<strong>and</strong> of the Audit Committee of <strong>Al</strong> <strong>Baraka</strong> Turk Participation Bank, in addition to being a<br />
member of each of the Audit Committees of Jordan Islamic Bank <strong>and</strong> Banque <strong>Al</strong> <strong>Baraka</strong><br />
D’<strong>Al</strong>gérie <strong>and</strong> a member of the Social Responsibility Committee of Jordan Islamic Bank.<br />
Mr. Eqab is a qualified Certified Public Accountant (CPA) <strong>and</strong> Chartered Global Management<br />
Accountant (CGMA).<br />
Mr. Szalay has over 38 years of international banking experience encompassing credit<br />
<strong>and</strong> risk management, corporate banking <strong>and</strong> trade finance. He commenced his banking<br />
career in international banking with Bank of Montreal, Canada <strong>and</strong> was later its Middle<br />
East Representative, initially based in Beirut, Lebanon <strong>and</strong> thereafter in London. He joined<br />
Gulf International Bank B.S.C. (GIB) in 1979 as Regional Marketing <strong>and</strong> Credit Officer for<br />
Central Europe based in London. He subsequently worked in various capacities in GIB within<br />
Credit <strong>and</strong> Business <strong>Development</strong>. In 2001 he was appointed Chief Credit Officer of GIB<br />
in Bahrain, responsible for credit, economics, legal <strong>and</strong> other related areas. He was also<br />
a member of the Group Risk Committee of GIB. Mr. Szalay has been a member of ABG’s<br />
Executive Management team since September 2006.<br />
Mr. Szalay holds M.A. (Econ.) from University of Budapest, Banking Certificate from the<br />
Institute of Canadian Bankers <strong>and</strong> Advanced Management Program from INSEAD France.
