Target Audience<br />

This program is designed for physicians of all<br />

specialties, both active and retired and all medical<br />

students.<br />

Needs Statement and Objectives<br />

Based upon identified patient needs as reported<br />

by the alumni Board members & the 2011 scientific<br />

program evaluations it was determined that<br />

this year’s program would focus on: treatment<br />

of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, opioid treatment<br />

programs, the impact of changes in the health<br />

care environment on patient care , DNR issues<br />

In the delivery room and new treatments for<br />

ocular infectious diseases.<br />

At the conclusion of this program participants<br />

will be provided information to increase their<br />

knowledge/understanding regarding: understand<br />

the role of radiological procedures in<br />

treating Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma; become<br />

aware of how electronic information systems<br />

enhance opioid treatment programs; learn how<br />

physician leadership and collaboration improves<br />

patient care; identify situations and the medical<br />

and emotional consequences when DNR with<br />

newborns is considered; and understand an alternative<br />

to antibiotics to treat ocular and other<br />

infectious diseases.
